In his late 30s Dylan is firmly in the closet. Married with 3 great teenage kids, a successful company and only one other person knows his secret. Tristan, equally successful, is openly gay. It doesn't take him long to figure out Dylan's secret and a difficult and complicated relationship ensues.

Secret offers us a lovely romance, great steamy scenes and shows us that happily ever after isn't just for those in their 20s. So many romance books show us an epilogue with marriage and children as a happily ever after and I loved that this story takes us to the point at a later stage in their lives.

Kindle Alexander has provided another excellent M/M romance. Her books are a must read for M/M fans.

I am pretty sure I have said it before but Kindle Alexander could write a grocery list and I would love to read it. I haven't found a KA book yet that I don't love. Secret is no different. I fell in love with this story.

Dylan puts his family first, above everything else in his life. He is selling his social media app, Secret. Tristan's company WilderNation is after Secret. Tristan knows it will improve his standing in the social media world. Obtaining Secret would make WilderNation millions. The weekend when the two companies meet to iron out the deal changes everything. One is a player looking for his next hookup, the other is living deep in the closet. Can one weekend together change everything? Will they let it play out like it’s destined to?

Like I said this is a great story. The emotion that is felt is heart wrenching. The sit down towards the end of the book had me in tears. So well written. I always look forward to the new Kindle Alexander title coming out, always a fantastic read!

Angie☆☆☆☆
I was so excited to read this book, I love every book by Kindle, I was shocked when I started reading it that I was a little bored at first, I had to actually put it down and start another book and come back to this one. After several chapters the book finally started to pick up and turn into the book that I have come to expect from Kindle. At times I wanted to reach through my e-reader and smack Dylan; I loved him but wanted to smack him. I understand having your priorities and not wanting to drift from those, but at some point in life you have to live for you and no one else. I didn’t fall in love with Tristan instantly; he had to grow on me. While I love the story and how everything unfolded, I think it could have been faster paced in the beginning and then in the end when things finally came out and got really good, BAM it was over. Yeah we got an epilogue but I wanted a little more.
Characters: Well written and easy to relate to
Sex: Yes
Religious: No
Would I recommend to others: Yes
More than one book in the series: No
Genre: M/M Romance
Would I read more by this author: Yes

Rachael☆☆☆☆
This was my first Kindle Alexander book. I'd heard so many things about this author that I was super excited to get started on it.

However, for me the first two chapters were quite.... boring. Once the two men meet, things get interesting and I couldn't wait to see how things would unfold.

The story itself was pretty good, it was a bit predictable at times and surprising at others. I felt like it dragged on and on at some points though. While the secondary characters were well woven into the story, I felt like they really distracted from the main parts of the story.

I have to say that I didn't really find the naughty scenes all that naughty either, which surprised me with how many people say they are so hot, so maybe it is because I read so much erotic romance.

Ruthie☆☆☆☆☆
The second this hit my Kindle I stopped everything I was doing and read. And what an excellent decision that was. As always Ms. Alexander brings a fabulous story to us fortunate readers. And what I really enjoyed was that again, she has not shied away from difficult or controversial issues, and paints them in a totally different light – which I admire and appreciate. People are all too happy to judge others, when they know nothing of the circumstances. It is a wonderful combination of hot and steamy, and deep and meaningful. I thought all the characters were beautifully portrayed, and would happily be friends with them – which is usually how I determine just how much I enjoy a book!

I have just reread Secret before reviewing it, (to indulge myself really) and if anything I enjoyed it even more. It is a really good story and I recommend it to you.

Best Selling Author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer, and a genre-crosser who writes classic fantasy, romance, suspense, and erotica in both the male/male and male/female genres. It's always a surprise to see what's coming next!

I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it's true, the only thing bigger than an over active imagination, may be women's hair!

Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life - I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations - regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal... I don't want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I'm going to tell you about Kindle.

I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I'll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died - weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn't have to be alone.

That time in my life was terrible. It's everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.

Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness - it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it. It never happened.

Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn't a time she wasn't there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It's its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn't be here today without her.

Two weeks ago…

Why am I here again? Mike was having a hard time playing aloof when the woman he’d pined for was clearly off the market. He knew it was coming, and had all along.

Isa stood in the circle of Toryn’s arms, a radiant smile on her face. They belonged together, always had. Neither was willing to admit it before for some ridiculous reason.

Resisting Isa was impossible. She was everything he craved and knew he should stay away from. She had a funny way of frazzling the wards Tremaine placed on him, bringing his magic to the surface. It had been ages since he wanted to tap into that power on purpose. He’d long since learned it was better to shut it down than play with fate. With Isa, he didn’t feel like such a freak because he’d witnessed some of her own weird issues.

Shaking his head, he went back to the makeshift bar, and ordered a beer from Toryn’s old boyfriend. Funny how he seemed perfectly at ease in the same room as Isa and Toryn. Then again, he was flirting with a gorgeous brunette, and a woman at that. At least someone was able to move on.

Leon acknowledged him with a sympathetic smile. “Hey, Mike. What are you drinking?”

“Beer, any beer.” He sighed as he leaned against the counter.

Expertly popping off the metal lid, Leon slid a bottle his way. Mike dipped his head in a nod, and tried to tip.

“Nope. Keep it. I’m not taking anyone’s money tonight.”

Mike harrumphed and moved to the corner of the room. He heard the door again and watched a strawberry blonde walk in. She knocked knuckles with some dude who looked eerily like the harder, tatted up version of Toryn.

Mike couldn’t tear his eyes away from the woman as she walked to the bar. Petite, curvy, and wearing a smile full of confidence. His dick woke up for the first time since Isa ended their fucking-friends situation.

He could sense the woman’s essence calling to him from across the room. This party was packed with Others. He’d avoided mingling with their kind for so long, he couldn’t tell what most were. However, the new arrival felt a lot like Tremaine, which made her a mage. Same as Toryn’s look-alike, and several other people in the room.

Her magic sparked his, but he didn’t care. He needed a distraction and she was the one thing taking his mind off Isa.

With a drink in hand, she crossed the room, her honey-colored eyes locked on his. “Dance with me.” It wasn’t a question.

He nodded, took the last sip of his beer and set it down on the nearest table.

She gulped down her drink and placed her glass beside his bottle.

Her eyes lit with desire and there was a command in her voice. “Come here.”

“With pleasure.” He moved closer and her hands landed on his shoulders before he wound his arms around her waist. Soft skin over lean muscle he wanted to explore.

“I’m Gwen. You?”

One corner of his mouth lifted. “Mike. What brings you here?”

Her brow arched as she took a look around. Mischief danced in her eyes. “You’re not what you appear, are you?”

He frowned. “What do you mean?”

“You’re hiding something.”

Shaking his head slowly, he lied through his teeth. “I have no clue what you’re talking about. And you didn’t answer my question.”

She let out a tiny laugh. “A co-worker convinced me coming here tonight was a good idea. I didn’t think so, until I saw you.”

He relaxed slightly, but felt the sparks dance along his spine as she tiptoed up, her breasts pressing into his chest. Desire erupted, and all he could think about was sweeping her off her feet, and carrying her to the nearest bed.

She whispered against his ear, “Relax, Mike. I have all the time in the world to learn your secrets, and I have a feeling it will be worth the wait.”

“Don’t know about that. Not much interesting here.”

“I sense a beast lurking under the surface. That’s exactly what I’m looking for.”

Mike moved back, and Gwen looked up at him with a curious glint. “Too fast?”

“Beast?” His alarm bells pinged off the charts. She knew something about him. Sensitives had never been able to tell what he was in the past. Even when his magic bled through, everyone thought he was a simple human.

“Don’t tell me you aren’t going to be wild when I get you home and strip you down.”

Desire stared back at him. Maybe he was being paranoid. Or maybe she knew what tiger’s tail she was pulling. Maybe the feisty mage would be safe.

Swallowing back his apprehension, he taunted, “Depends. Are you wild?”

“With the right man, you bet. You may be him.”

“Perhaps.”

“Let’s get out of here. You can get to know me.”

Fearing he's becoming the monster a former lover told him he was, Mike heads to see Tremaine to get him to reinforce the wards that are holding his magic at bay. Never understanding exactly what his magic is or what he is, all he knows is that he is scared to let it loose in fear of hurting or killing innocents.

Gwen spots Mike at a party and can sense the energy flowing from him, but not what he is. She invites him back to her place only to have him leave quickly afterwards. When he ignores her calls the following week, she vows to give up on him, even though he rarely leaves her thoughts.

The author takes us on Mike's journey as he finds out who he really is, who his family is and the powers that have been hidden from him since he was a boy. The cast of characters is made of old friends and allies as well as new foes. The Others of Edenton and the Others of Seattle once again are battling evil and forces of darkness.

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
I am a big fan of Ms. Rivers' books and love how Edenton and this series interlink and weave together a wider community of Others.

Once again a great read. Fast paced, sexy, entertaining, and full of old friends and revelations, which will also affect future stories. The tightness of the plot-lines ensures that even though I have read hundreds of books in the last twelve months, I immediately slot everyone back into place and return to the fold. As we have previously watched Preston and Robert find their place in the world, it was definitely time for Gwen to get her HEA, but let down as she has been in the past, can she believe it is for real? At the same time Mike is having to come to terms with what he has known to be real but strived to keep concealed. Fate takes a hand ...

Christy☆☆☆☆
Mrs. Rivers has created a world full of others that populate both the small town of Edenton and large city of Seattle. Having been a fan of both series from the start, I am always pleasantly surprised at her ability to weave new characters, both good and bad, into the series while keeping it fresh. Mike has spiked my radar from book 1 in this series and I am very happy to not have to wait long for his story. Though way faster paced than her usual style, this story set up what I hope to be many more books to come. Gwen is a feisty chick that I would love to hang out with in real life and Mike is the perfect guy.

Love Hurts by Mandi Beck Blog Tour

Even when she won’t fight for us, I’ll go to war for her…

Inside the Octagon, I have no fear. I’m at home, in my element, inflicting pain onto men trained to hurt me just as badly. Making them submit, knocking them out, maiming them, because it’s them or me. And I choose them.

Outside the Octagon, my only weakness is a five-foot-two, classy as fuck woman that I’ve loved for most of my life. She’s the one that brings me to my knees, fills my arms, my heart, and one day soon, my bed. She makes me reckless. Volatile. I drink too much and try too hard to fuck my way out of feeling—all because of her.

Frankie De Rosa is my girl, my best friend. I haven’t earned her yet, but I won’t stand by and let anyone take her from me. She will be the greatest fight of my life, but she’s worth the battle.

Love hurts, but anything worth having does, right?

Standing off to the side of the stage waiting for them to call my name, I search the crowd for Frankie. She’s here with Guy somewhere. Knowing him, they’re in the front row or close to it. Finally spotting them, I just watch and wait for her to feel me looking at her. I hadn’t been sure if she was going to be here tonight, since I didn’t see her after we got to the gym this morning. She had her class and I had my asshole brothers riding my ass for being late. I’d meant to ask her, but I’m so used to Frankie just being at these things anyways it slipped my mind. This relationship shit is fucking tricky. I’ve never been in one, so she has a lot to teach my slow ass. Letting my eyes travel over her, I can feel my cock getting heavy. Great, just what I fucking need before I drop trou in front of thousands of people. Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve been semi hard getting weighed in, but if I’m not careful, I’ll be sporting full wood. Adjusting myself in my track pants, I just stare at my girl. She’s changed out of her “Hitman” shirt. Her hair is down and wavy, the lights in the auditorium casting a halo over the long, platinum strands. She has on this low-cut, white top that I’m pretty sure is lace underneath a black blazer with the sleeves rolled up revealing her delicate wrists covered in bracelets. I can see that she has on jeans, but I can’t tell what she has on her feet, but I know I’m gonna want to fuck her in nothing but whatever they are later. All of a sudden I’ve developed a fucking shoe fetish. This train of thought isn’t helping with my hard on even a little bit. Making my way back up to her face, our eyes meet. I mouth, “You look hot as fuck,” winking at her.

The smile that spreads across her face is contagious, and before I know it, I’m standing there like an asshole, hand on my cock and a dopey fucking smile on my face. Shaking my head at myself, I chuckle and give her my, “You’re so getting fucked later” smirk before turning away to listen to what my pop and Sonny are saying to me.

When the emcee calls my name, the room explodes into applause, catcalls, and screaming. Smiling and waving as I step onto the stage with Mav, I nod at the men waiting to weigh me in and pose me with Tamasino for the pictures, completely ignoring the bikini-clad chicks lining the wall. I’ve fucked too many of the ring girls here to feel comfortable even making eye contact with any of them knowing Frankie’s in the same room. Standing to the side of the scale, I toe off my shoes and bend to yank off my socks, handing them to Mav before giving him my hat and “Just the Tip” shirt, leaving my pants for last since I’m still more than semi hard. Once I’m down to nothing but my black boxer briefs, my hard on, and my ink, I take a deep breath and step onto the scale. Being a heavyweight fighter, I have to stay under 265, which isn’t a problem for me, but it’s all still pretty nerve wracking.

“Two hundred and forty pounds,” the guy manning the scale announces.

Flexing once for the cameras, I hop off the scale and go over to where Mav is holding my clothes to wait on Tam to get weighed. Leaving my shirt off for the pictures with Tamasino, I look over to see Mav looking at me in amusement.

“What?”

“Way to rock out with your cock out, Deac.”

Johanna☆☆☆
What an emotionally charged story that ends in a dismal cliffhanger. The blurbs and teasers for this book were so good, I just had to read it. Deacon is a cage fighter who’s in love with his best friend Frankie. She is the object of affection for multiple men in this book, including a fiancé that almost killed her. Some of the drama in this book is eye roll inducing, which lowers my ratings. I can't muster up enough care for her jealousy towards another girl who gave Deac a blow job when she refused to be with him. A lot of questions in this book too, a lot that are not answered and then a huge cliffhanger. Overall entertainment was three stars.

Review format
Could I put this book down? Yes
Characters have chemistry? Yes
Religious? No
Erotic? Yes
Specific genre? Erotic Romance/ cage fighter
Main characters? Deacon and Frankie
Define main characters? Deac is a cage fighter.... And Frankie?

The basic story is good – even if annoying that it leaves us on a massive cliffhanger – but I think that it was too long-winded in places. There needed to be more development, or more history, or something to make sense of why these characters connected, and yet did so, so very badly. For best friends forever, they had no communication skills to fall back on, which just didn't make sense to me. I do want to know what happens next, and to hopefully see more of the brothers and Indie, because they interest me too. I just hope we don't have to wait too long.

Mandi Beck has been an avid reader all of her life. A deep love for books always had her jotting down little stories on napkins, notebooks, and her hand. As an adult she was further submerged into the book world through book clubs and the epicness of social media. The Brazilian made sexy eyes at Ang for a while, but it was obvious that Jameson was her ultimate goal. As they all took their sides of the tennis court, Tate glared as the other woman flirted and touched Jameson. Leaned against him. Breathed on him.

“What are we doing here?” Ang asked in a low voice.

“That chick wants to fuck Jameson. He's trying to pawn her off on you. Be sexy,” Tate advised him.

“Bitch, I was born sexy.”

Tate had to agree. Ang was wearing a pair of old fashioned looking Ray Bans, and his hair was cropped extremely short on the sides, but long and wild on top. There was a touch of James Dean about him; something 1950's. His bad boy smile was firmly in place, and though Isadora was focusing on Jameson, she threw a couple flirty glances Ang's way.

“Well, sexy it up some more, get her attention. I don't want to spend the rest of the day trying to talk Jameson out of an orgy,” Tate hissed.

“We could end up in an orgy!?”

“Angier, don't make me serve the ball into the back of your head.”

Tate was rusty – tennis had never really been her sport. She could knock the ball back and forth, but she wasn't great. Ang couldn't play for shit, it was comical watching him lope up and down the court. They both laughed a lot, collapsing into giggle fits enough times to earn a snap from Jameson.

Isadora played the game beautifully and elegantly, like Tate knew she would, and of course Jameson was good at it. If there was something Jameson wasn't good at it, he simply didn't do it, so Tate had figured he'd do well at tennis. Together with the Brazilian bombshell, they dominated the game. Tate couldn't quite figure out why they didn't switch, place a bad player with a good player, to at least even the odds.

But it quickly became apparent that Isadora didn't want to even the odds. She cooed in Jameson's ear, wiggled her ass in his face. Tate spent half the game making puking faces at him, which just earned her wolf grins and him feeding into the flirtation.

“I don't think she's interested in my sexy,” Ang informed Tate, looking over his glasses as Isadora bent straight at the waist, keeping her knees locked while she tied her shoelaces. Jameson stood directly behind her, waving his racket at them.

Tate gave him the finger.

“Yeah, we're not here to play tennis. She invited us here so she could become fuck buddies,” Tate grumbled.

“Wouldn't be all bad. She's kinda hot,” Ang pointed out. Tate snorted.

“I didn't come all the way to Hong Kong to have an orgy with Jameson's ex girlfiend.”

“Does this kind of thing happen a lot?”

“Yes. We went to the Met gala last fall, and god, what a nightmare. There was this model, some young blonde thing that Jameson had slept with like a million years ago. Followed him around all night. I don't want to go through that again,” Tate told him.

“What are you going to do about it?” Ang asked.

“Whore you out.”

Before he could argue, Tate jogged up to the net, scooping up the ball as she went.

“Oh, thank you, Tatum,” Isadora gushed in her syrupy accent, running up to the net as well.

“No problem. Say, Ang has never been to Hong Kong before, you should totally show him around after this,” Tate blurted out, not even trying to be subtle.

“Really? I was hoping to catch up with Kane a little more. So little chance to talk during the game. I would be very glad to keep him company while you show Angier the sites,” Isadora offered.

Hmmm, I'm not the only one lacks subtlety.

“See, I kind of had plans with Jameson,” Tate lied. There weren't any set plans, but she figured she didn't need them. He was her boyfriend. If she said he was busy, then he was goddamn busy.

“Yes, of course! The party!” Isadora exclaimed. Tate blinked in surprise.

“What?”

“The party! Kane told me all about it, thank you so much for inviting me!”

“Are we gonna play, or fucking chit chat all day?” Jameson yelled from the back line. Tate stepped to the side.

“Your lovely partner was just telling me all about our party!” Tate shouted back, shielding her eyes with her hand. His own eyes were hidden by the bill of his hat, but the set of his jaw was ominous. He wasn't happy.

“My partner should learn to keep her mouth shut. Let's finish this game,” he called back.

“Oh, I'll finish this game, alright,” Tate grumbled, stomping away.

“Something up?” Ang asked, walking up close to her. Tate leaned into him, pressing her face against his chest and letting out a mock scream.

“What the fuck is going on?” Tate breathed, turning her head to the side and resting all her weight against him. “First dinner with my parents. Then fucked up tennis. Now a party? Jameson hates parties, he hates physical activity that isn't sex, and he hates my parents.”

“Maybe he's trying to turn over a new leaf,” Ang suggested, but she could feel him trying not to laugh.

“When you're done dry humping, some of us would like to keep playing!”

Tate glared as Jameson's voice carried across the court. Oh, so he could let some hoochie Brazilian rub her ass all over his crotch, but Tate couldn't hug Ang!? Oh, it was on. It was soooooo on.

“Ang, could you do me a favor?” Tate started, running her hands up and down his sides.

“Hmmm?”

“Just go with anything I do.”

“Huh?”

Tate ignored him and peeled her top off. She wasn't being scandalous, she was wearing a sports bra – there were plenty of women running around the courts wearing the same thing. No, that wasn't enough to get the reaction she wanted. But turning around and pressing her back to Ang's front and doing a toe touch stretch, she was pretty positive that would inspire a response.

“Does he look mad?” Tate asked, not even trying to hide her smile as she pretended to stretch from one leg to the other.

“Murderous. Are we trying to piss him off?” Ang questioned.

“Just having some fun, messing with him. He made me sweat with all his flirting, now it's his turn,” Tate laughed.

“Then let's make it count.”

Ang smacked her on the ass, hard enough to cause her to fall forward and place her hands flat on the ground.

“I'm not fucking around, Tate. You have two seconds to knock it the fuck off!” Jameson yelled.

“Ooohhh, feels like a challenge to me! Game!?” she yelled back, slowly standing up and stretching her arms above her head.

“Don't push me – you won't win.”

Pffft, I always win.”

Tate spun around, facing Ang as she stretched her arms back, forcing her chest out. Ang didn't even hide the fact that he was staring at her tits.

“I'm not really sure what kind of game you're playing, but I gotta be honest, I like it,” he joked. Tate snorted and lowered her arms, coiling them around his neck. He rested his hands on her hips.

“Does he look mad?” she asked. Ang glanced behind her.

“Hard to tell. He always looks mad,” he pointed out, walking backwards and forcing her to follow.

“If he's standing still, he's not mad,” Tate explained.

“Oh, then he's definitely mad.”

“Is he moving?”

“He's right behind you.”

Oh, how I love thee! I don't want to say goodbye, but am glad that this short story was added to the series.
If you've read the Kane Trilogy, you know that it's an edgy, sexy, anti-sweet journey between Tatum and Jameson Kane. It's the evolution of them as a "pair"...can't really call this a relationship, but they finally got there.

This "epilogue" to the series was absolutely PERFECT. It picks up a couple of years after Reparation.
I had to know what became of every single character that I've come to love and this did NOT disappoint.

If you're looking for the ultimate Happily Ever After – look no further!

Crazy woman living in an undisclosed location in Alaska (where the need for a creative mind is a necessity!), I have been writing since ..., forever? Yeah, that sounds about right. I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball - I also see shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I'm clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.

I like dogs more than I like most people, and I don't trust anyone who doesn't drink. No, I do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the year, there's your Alaska lesson for the day. I have mermaid hair - both a curse and a blessing - and most of the time I talk so fast, even I can't understand me.

Yeah. I think that about sums me up.
