Cotton Candy by Mae Hancock

Cowboy Cotton Reid is the laid-back type of guy who accepts people as they are, no matter how flawed. People think he’s fun, honest and crazy about his boss and friend the sexy rancher Bay Redman.

Living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is something that family man Bay has done his whole life. Bay can be like a bear with a sore head if the hay isn’t stored symmetrically or his fridge contains an odd number of jars.

When the two men begin a hot affair, Cotton keeps an important secret from Bay. If he can't find the courage to tell him the truth before someone else does, Bay may never be able to let it go.

Holy hotness! I loved the first book in this series and couldn’t wait to read about Bay. I was not disappointed. Bay has OCD bad but Cotton seems to calm him and make the OCD not as bad. When the two of these guys start dating it is awesome! When we find out the secret Cotton is keeping I kept thinking “oh no, the crap is gonna hit the fan.” This was a beautiful story with a little bit of drama mixed in and a whole lot of sexy M/M love. I loved Cotton and how he is with Bay and how he is so laid back. When everything is finally revealed it doesn’t turn out so bad and I was shocked because I was really waiting for it all to hit the fan LOL. We do get to see a few characters from the previous book, obviously Oak since he is Bay’s son and then grandma of course! I enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next one!

Characters: Well written and believable
Sex: Oh yeah!
Religious: No
Would I recommend to others: Yes

I couldn’t wait for Bay's story. I really am enjoying this series. Oak and Hart's story was sweet and sexy and I expected nothing less with Bay and Cotton. Grandma is back and man is she a pistol! She is speaks her mind and adds some comic relief to this series.

Bay runs a ranch, a ranch where gay men are accepted as ranch hands. Bay hasn't had a relationship in years. He was married at one point, until his wife left him after the birth of their second child, that's when he realized he was gay. Bay's mind is a busy place between running the ranch and constantly fixing and counting things when his OCD is at its peak, he doesn't see what's in front of him. Cotton came to the ranch for work and feels for Bay. Cotton has a secret, secret that can destroy everything he's worked for with Bay.

Can't wait for the next one!

I really enjoyed Enticing Hart, and was delighted to get the chance to read Cotton Candy.

These two guys deserved having their story told, and Ms. Hancock did it beautifully. OCD is such an issue for some, and it is approached with great care and thoughtfulness in this book. Combine that with Cotton's secret, and the plot holds together around a lovely romance. They are definitely a steamy pairing! Happy to see other familiar faces, and imagine what will transpire in what will be book 3 of this series.

I enjoy writing both academic and fiction material. My research interests include focus on people who experience marginalization, both in historical societies and modern. Themes include disability, neurosis, homosexuality, addiction, mental illness, slavery and prostitution. The most important part of my work is creating multi-dimensional, believable characters that are able to build lasting romantic relationships against the odds. I want all my readers to laugh, cry and enjoy the erotic journey towards a happy ending.

This was a sweet story between Hart and Oak. I loved the chemistry and even with the odds against them they both fought for what they wanted. Gotta love grandma who was part of the cheering squad. Can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.

This is my first read from this author and I went in with no expectations. The blurb sold the book for me. I mean come a gay friendly Ranch, sexy cowboys? How could that not be good?

I was instantly drawn into the characters. The attraction between Oak and Hart happened when they first caught sight of each other. The chemistry is building and explosive. Hart was warned against a relationship with Oak or Kristen by their dad, Bay, the owner of Red Fox Ranch. As much as Oak tries to get Hart's attention, Hart tries to not act on that attraction between them.

It's sweet and sexy, there is the added suspense. Overall a very good read. I loved Bay's grandma, she wasn't afraid to speak her mind and call anyone out on their crap. Will definitely be looking for more from this author.

This is a book which combines a number of usual plot lines to come up with a few interesting twists. Once I had started it, I couldn't stop as I wanted to know how the issues would be resolved. I found the restraint and the mixed messages both frustrating, but also believable. Did it end rather quickly, and tidily – possibly – but hopefully there is more to come and things will even out over the next adventure.
