Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the ninth book in the series, and whilst this could be read as a standalone, there are references to events in previous books, and one very important event which involves the couple from the very first book, when Kiss of Leather hadn't even opened.

We soon learn that Cruella is getting back on track after leaving a toxic relationship. Mindful of this, their boss Ray has not pushed for the date that he so wants with them. But finally the stars align, and maybe, just maybe they will both get exactly what they want – even if they are not able to be open with each other about their desires. Luckily a shibari class that Cruella is taking means they need a partner, and Ray is the man they ask to join them. Here starts a voyage of discovery for them both, both in everyday life and when behind closed doors.

This was a good mix of a new relationship and a great opportunity to catch up with many previous ones.

Angie – ☆☆☆☆
I enjoyed this book. It did seem to move pretty quickly from no one being in a committed relationship to them being a throuple. I liked each character, Tai, Elliot, and Master Lucas; how could you not? However, I felt just like Elliott, that everything seemed too good to be true. I loved the dynamics of the characters as well. I am just sad that some things were skimmed over or several days or weeks had passed, I felt like I was missing pieces of their relationship. All in all, it was sweet, loving and a good addition to the series.


Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the eighth book in this series, and they are still fresh with new characters and snippets of previous ones. You could read this as a standalone, but why deny yourself the full enjoyment.

We start with a catch up of Tobey and his new relationship with Master Hunter. It gives us a good insight into Elliot and his crush on Tai. But Tai is currently playing with Master Lucas, and Elliot sees there is no space for him instead. As veteran readers of Ms. Knight will know, there is little which cannot be surmounted in Kiss of Leather. As we see, there is a solution which will get everyone exactly what they want, and with some unexpectedly strong feelings developing too.

Elliot's attempt to solve his own problems ends in danger, but he makes an incredibly wise decision when he has his phone in his hand. I felt it all stemmed from that decision and was a brave move. The three men together are amazingly hot, sensual, and once communication is established, in harmony. A good mix of BDSM elements and exploration of how different needs can be met.

Another very enjoyable addition to the series. Thank you, Ms. Knight.

This is a series that should be read in order – there are characters that appear in multiple books and a story line that you'll need to understand.

This begins with the resolution of Corey's story. I like that it was resolved, but felt it was really out of place. It almost seemed as an afterthought rather than an integral part of the previous books.

Master Hunter and Tobey have had a rough go of a training relationship. Master Hunter is a person who believes that he cannot be in a monogamous relationship. While he was willing to take on a sub for training, he is unwilling to allow himself more than that.

Tobey is someone who has been hurt before by a dom at Kiss of Leather and when he is taken in by Master Hunter, he wants to keep his emotions in check, but he's a man who follows his heart. So, when Master Hunter is unwilling to go to the next step, Tobey flees to his home.

What follows is a slow dance of Tobey and Master Hunter healing themselves, clearing the air, and developing a loving relationship that will last the test of time.


Veronica – ☆☆☆☆
With Facing Fears I felt like we got two different stories for the price of one. The beginning has us spending a little bit of time with Liam and Neal and also following Chuck as he pursues the white van he was following at the end of the previous book. The story took a turn I wasn't expecting and we get some nerve wracking action.

The story then moves on to Toby and Hunter. Toby is broke and wanting to return to LA and Kiss of Leather, having left his job the month before after having his heart broken by Master Hunter. I have to say I loved Toby instantly but it took me a long time to warm up to Master Hunter. Ultimately, I just wanted Toby to get what he wanted and by the end I was a happy reader.

I'm loving every book this is series, it is my guilty pleasure.


Angie – ☆☆☆☆
I really enjoy this series. I hope this isn't the last book since the mystery of Corey's kidnapping is finally solved. Boy that was some ending to that whole portion of the story line. GO LIAM!!!! I did feel like the first part of the book was more about Liam and Neal and then the second part was about Hunter and Tobey. I really wanted more of Hunter and Tobey, I felt like we got a little jipped, time jumped and we didn't really get a lot of details. There was the auction and then jump ahead and they were moving in together. Hopefully now that the mystery is solved we can have more story lines just on the couples again.


Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the seventh book in the series, and I do recommend that you read them all and in order to get the full impact of this story.

The first third brings to a very satisfying conclusion the ongoing investigation of abductions and is quite dramatic, to say the least. Although the events that led up to this point involved Corey most of all, it is Liam and his new master, Niall, who suffer the brunt of this stage of the drama. As someone who has been keen for the issue to be resolved in a satisfactory way, I was very pleased with the outcome.

The rest of the story centres on Tobey, who left after he believed Hunter rejected him, and who knows he has to come back, as his family do not want him. He takes a bold step in asking for his job back, and inadvertently makes it known that he has a problem with Hunter. Obviously fate intervenes and along with many other fabulous pairings at Kiss of Leather, these two finally get their chance at a happily ever after. It felt good to catch up with old friends and see how settled these men are, after a lot of turmoil in their lives.

Another enjoyable and action-packed adventure in a very good series. Thank you, Ms. Knight.

They try out a scene to see if they’ll click, and their connection is everything they’d both hoped it could be. However, the road to love and a Total Power Exchange isn’t an easy one. Neal still hasn’t discovered all there is to know about Liam’s traumatic upbringing, and he’s not sure if he’d ultimately be the right Master for Liam.

Both men are forced to face the truth about love, life and what it means to share it with another person. But before Liam can start over with Neal, he’ll have to cut the cords to his past and trust that Neal will be there to catch him when he does.

This was a super sweet story between Liam and Neal. Liam lost his master and is barely surviving the day to day basics. When he goes out with a trusted friend, he sees Neal at the club and is instantly intrigued. Neal seemed a little flaky to me at times and spoke like a young kid instead of a grown man, when he called Liam "cutie" it just seemed odd and childish to me. It didn't seem to fit his alpha master persona. Liam was timid and skittish, but was better with Neal around. I loved it when Neal just dropped his pants and showed Liam all of his piercings, LOL. These two were super sweet together and I enjoyed their story. There were some jumps in time and apparently, a tongue piercing happened; I would have liked to have read that scene and I would also like to know about what happens after Neal said he would buy the tattoo shop. Hopefully, some of this will be addressed in the next installment.


Veronica – ☆☆☆☆
Liam struggles with panic attacks and social anxiety and is left alone after the passing of his much older master. He agrees to go with Chuck to Kiss of Leather and on his first night there, he sees Dom Neal. When Liam sees Neal for the first time, he is instantly attracted to Neal's uniqueness and his obvious joy at performing a scene. Neal is happy, laid back and understanding, and a perfect fit for Liam.

The author did a great job portraying Liam's anxiety. It was easy to understand how Liam was feeling, and seeing him face is fears and being so honest about his issues shows how brave he is.

Neal and Liam’s story is beautiful, but I wish the story was longer because I wanted so much more of them.


Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the sixth book in the series, and gives us both more insight into another couple and moves the underlying story forward. Do read them in order as the experience will be richer for it.

Both Liam and Neal are interesting characters, and we get a wonderful insight into their hearts and minds in this story of their meeting, and coming together (pun intended ;-) ). Liam is still grieving for his master, Mark, who died suddenly. He is completely lost until Neal catches his eye at Kiss of Leather. The dynamic between them is fascinating as Neal contemplates whether he can fulfil Liam's previous experience of TPE (total power exchange). The way they resolve the issue is very romantic and satisfying.

Neal and Liam are a strange couple. I have read all of these book in the series and this one is by far, my least favorite so far.

Liam is struggling after his master died unexpectedly. However, almost the whole book is about his defects (from his point of view) and how hard he is to manage. I felt like this whole story was a large whine-fest about him. Why he needed a Master, how someone had to take the time to understand him, etc.

Then you have Neal. He's a new member to the club, but not necessarily to the lifestyle. Then you have the relationship aspect and it just seemed that he didn't really know how to react to Liam, only that he found him cute and that Liam pulled him toward Neal... I never really felt that they connected on a deeper level like the other couples.

Overall, I was sad about this story. However, with the hint at the next story and what's coming up, that has me intrigued to keep going with the series.

Charlie (Chuck) is a very strong, but shy sub. He has worked his way into the group at Kiss of Leather because of his ability to help track down the dom who abused Corey. He has been working with Stone to figure out the mystery behind Corey's abuse and whether or not a ring of traffickers was getting away with it.

Then you have Jordan, who is a dom who has been intrigued with Chuck ever since Chuck came to the collaring ceremony. He came in leathers another time and Jordan just about swallowed his tongue. Stone pushes Jordan to pursue Chuck because he knows that Chuck secretly desires the connection that Jordan can provide him. I didn't learn a lot about Jordan's life – it was mostly about him getting together with Chuck.

I have to say that despite the rank of 4 stars, I thought that Chuck and Jordan's relationship was kind of short changed in this story. They didn't really have a strong connection like the previous books. This was more superficial. We did have some resolution with Chuck's family, but it was very rushed and there was almost no discussion. I also thought that despite the nature of their relationship, their scenes were not as well written as the others.

There was a lot of information in this story, but no resolution. I can't wait to see where the mystery of what Stone discovered takes us in the next books.

I was really looking forward to Chuck’s story. I did feel a connection between the characters, but not that deep in your soul connection that I have felt with other characters in the series. I feel like some of the relationship was lost with the story about the kidnappers still being a subplot. Then just when I thought things were getting good, the book ended and I felt like some things felt rushed or unfinished.

After dancing around each other for a few months, Chuck finally takes the step of going out with Jordan and agreeing to become his sub. Chuck is new to BDSM and socially, a little awkward. Jordan is a laid back guy and an easy going, patient master. I liked him a lot. And I thought Chuck was brave. He says what he wants and is honest about what he likes and wants.

We get new information in relation to the crimes that Chuck is helping investigate for Kiss of Leather and I assume that storyline will continue in future books.

The romance between Master Jordan and Chuck is really sweet, but their love story did feel a little rushed. I would have liked it to be slowed down a little so I could savour it, but maybe I just wanted a longer story so it wasn't over so soon.

This is the fifth book in the series. I would recommend that you read them in order, as there is a thread running through them all, there are ongoing relationships, and tie-ins which just mean more that way.

Now that Kiss of Leather is open, we get to see how well Kyle's furniture is viewed, how much the doms are enjoying their subs, and a new safe place to play. Jordan, who owns Club Consequence, thinks that it is time for him to see whether the feelings he has for Chuck are reciprocated. Watching them play out the game they both seem to want so much, is very enjoyable. Chuck is a fascinating person, as he mixes confidence in his role, and diffidence in his personal life and family relationships. Jordan is just the perfect type of dom for him, relaxed, loving, and patient.

Very enjoyable addition to the series. Thank you, Ms. Knight.
