Painted Lace by K.M. Neuhold Blog Tour

Painted Lace Blog Tour

Austin never realized he was painting his life with shades of gray, until Keaton came along and injected a rainbow of color.

Keaton is a tornado of chaos and paint, which turns out to be more exciting than I ever would’ve imagined. I love my organized, predictable life...or at least I thought I did. But what started as a casual hookup is slowly becoming so much more, and I find myself loving the beautiful mess more than I expected.

Can two people so different really make it work once feelings get involved?

Author’s Note: This is a stand-alone story and was originally published as Kiss and Run in the Valentine’s Inc series. It has since undergone significant changes and doubled in length.

As I take the place in, my eyes land on the canvas in the center of the living room. It must be what he was working on before I showed up. I take a step closer, enthralled by the painting instantly.

“You’re an artist?” I ask stupidly.

“I am.” He follows me into the living room.

Taking a closer look at the painting, two bodies come into view, writhing together in a colorful blur.

“That’s not art, it’s sex,” I accuse with amusement.

“Art is sex and sex is art,” he corrects.

“Is it?” I tear my eyes from the canvas to look at Keaton. He nods, taking a step closer, pressing his small, slender body against me.

“The shapes our bodies make, all the lines and shadows, it’s beautiful. And that moment, that single moment when you’re at your most alive, when it’s instantly clear that this is the meaning of life. There’s nothing left but to feel.” He lets the sentence and the image hang in the air for a moment. “That moment is where art comes from.”

I swallow, suddenly aware that I may be in slightly over my head with Keaton and unwilling to do a damn thing to put the brakes on at this point.

“I’m not sure I understand; I may need you to show me,” I tease, my voice going deep and gravelly.

Keaton throws his head back and laughs, his body vibrating against me in an addicting way.

“Let’s go then.” He gestures to the hallway a few feet away, and I lead the way.

His bedroom is much like the rest of his apartment, in need of some work but with a personality of its own. His bed sits on the floor rather than up on a bed frame, but the sheets look clean enough. There’s a milk crate next to the bed with a lamp perched on it, along with a joint and a lighter.

“You want?” he asks, picking up the joint and placing it between his lips. The pucker of those bowed lips fills my mind with filthy thoughts.

I haven’t smoked weed since college. I only did it once back then because I didn’t want to be the square who turned it down. But I remember the pleasant, floaty feeling it gave me. After taking a long inhale, he holds it out to me, his eyebrows raised, and I gingerly take it from him. Feeling like a complete nerd, I place it between my lips and clumsily light it, coughing almost as soon as the smoke fills my lungs, my throat burning like hell.

Keaton laughs at me, a fond expression on his face, taking the joint back for another toke of his own. This time, instead of handing it back to me, he presses close again, tilting his head up like he’s asking permission for a kiss. I bend close, putting my hands on the small of his back to draw him near, our hard cocks pressing together and our noses bumping. I part my lips, and his brush mine, as he lets smoke billow into my mouth, sweet and a little musky. I’m not sure if it’s the pot or the man himself that has my head swimming.

When the smoke dissipates, he flicks his tongue out and grazes it along my bottom lip, his eyes shining playfully. Feeling bold and horny with his cute little body in my arms and the bed less than a foot away, I grab Keaton by the back of his neck and smash our lips together. I’m not sure who this man is, controlling my mouth and my body, but he’s certainly a vast improvement from the usually timid, anxious version.

I shove my hand down my pants, gripping myself and stroking as my eyes close and the sensory memories of that night come to the forefront of my mind—the feeling of lace against my tongue, our sweat slicked bodies moving as one.

Having read this talented author's Four Bears' Construction series, I was delighted to get this book to review – and I really enjoyed it too. It effectively takes a one-time hook-up and gives it the strength of feeling between the protagonists to want to repeat it, repeatedly... until we are utterly invested in wanting them to acknowledge the love between them.

Austin is faced with attending his ex-boyfriend's wedding, with the memory of being accused of being 'boring' by the man still ringing in his ears. Much as he is okay with his ordered, work- centred life, he knows he is missing out. So prompted by his best friend, he takes a chance on an app. Little could he have expected to meet Keaton, a man full of colour and vivaciousness. I loved the chaos that follows this encounter – and most especially that Austin embraces it wholly and with great aplomb.

This is a very sexy, thoughtful, passionate, and full of love story, which I enjoyed no end. Thank you, K.M. Neuhold, very much!

Shannan☆☆☆☆
K.M. Neuhold is a newer-to-me author. I was introduced to her in the Four Bears Construction series and fell in love with the writing style. I was sucked into those books and Painted Lace was no exception. I connected with the characters and was rooting for them from the beginning.

Austin lived a lonely existence. After he was dumped by Harry, who he thought was the love of his life, he just sort of exists. He goes to work, sometimes has drinks with his best friend, but that's it. His best friend tells him to sign up for a dating app, M4M. Austin isn't sure it's for him but he's tired of just existing.

Keaton is an artist. That's his passion but he takes odd jobs here and there to make ends meet but art is where is heart is. When he gets a message on M4M, he answers but never expects to want anything more than a casual hook-up.

Can Austin find the excitement he's craving in his life? Will Keaton look beyond something casual and fall in love?

I was completely invested in Austin and Keaton and loved watching their story unfold. Can't wait to check out more from this author!

Sarah☆☆☆☆
This is a sweet and sexy story about a businessman who falls for an artist. It’s the story of two men with very opposite approaches to life who end up bringing out the very best in each other.

Austin is driven, successful, and straightlaced. He probably reads at least a decade older than his age of 24 and at the start of the book, his ex is right to call him boring. Keaton is his opposite. He has distanced himself from most adult responsibilities, working a series of odd jobs that allow him to spend most of his time painting. If Austin is a little bit too responsible, Keaton’s life is a little too chaotic.

This is an entertaining story, but it does feel familiar and a little formulaic. I’m getting tired of the fake boyfriend trope and there really isn’t much about either of these two men that make them memorable or special. I like the way the two men ultimately provide balance for each other and I enjoyed the growth in both men. I enjoyed the book but it is one of K.M. Neuhold’s less memorable stories.

Angie☆☆☆☆
I just loved this! I found myself smiling the entire time I was reading it. I wish it were longer because I loved Austin and Keaton. It was a fun, fast, low angst read. I highly recommend it for a cold rainy afternoon if you want a sweet, sexy story between total opposites.

Author K.M. NEUHOLD is a complete romance junkie, a total sap in every way. She started her journey as an author in new adult, MF romance, but after a chance reading of an MM book she was completely hooked on everything about lovely – and sometimes damaged – men finding their Happily Ever After together. She has a strong passion for writing characters with a lot of heart and soul, and a bit of humor as well. And she fully admits that her OCD tendencies of making sure every side character has a full backstory will likely always lead to every book having a spin-off or series. Screwed by K.M. Neuhold Blog Tour

I've had my fair share of less than proud relationship moments, but waking up married to my brother-in-law's best friend is a new low.

A drunken wedding to a man who already rejected me once? Check. A hefty bet about how long it will last? Check. My feisty new husband, determined to make our friends pay up? Double check.

I've never managed to make a real relationship last nearly a year, there's no way Daniel will stick around long enough to win this bet. The only problem is the longer he stays, the more the lines blur between what's real and what's for show. Does he feel it too or am I totally screwed?

***Screwed is a woke up married, faking it to their friends but also totally hooking up, sweet, STEAMY love story that happens to be the fourth book in the Four Bears Construction series. There are no bear shifters in this series, only the OTHER kind of bears.***

I lift my left hand closer to my face, sure I’m having some kind of hangover induced hallucination. I mean, why the hell would I have a silver band around my left ring finger? Running my thumb over the band, it feels very much real, the metal smooth and warm from my skin.

“What the actual fuck?” I mutter, finally leaning over and filling my mouth with water so I can rinse and spit. Obviously, I got drunk and decided to put on Ren’s wedding band for some reason that I’m sure made sense when I was ten shots of tequila deep.

I shuffle back out of the bathroom, slipping the ring off as I go. Ollie is still passed the fuck out on the bed, the sheets tangled around one leg while the other hangs off the side of the bed, his ass looking entirely biteable in his tight boxer briefs. I glance down at myself, realizing for the first time that I have no clue what I fell asleep in. A pair of loose fitting boxers hang on my hips. Ollie’s underwear, awesome.

Oh no, did we fuck? I look around helplessly for any clue to what might’ve happened. There aren’t any condom wrappers or lube packets in sight, but that doesn’t necessarily prove anything. I slip one hand into my underwear and between my ass cheeks. No traces of lube, and my hole doesn’t feel sore, so whatever we might’ve done, it wasn’t that. Thank fuck, because I would’ve been pissed if I blacked out a dicking from a man like that.

I don’t want to rummage through Ollie’s stuff, so I set the ring on the nightstand on his side of the bed where he’ll be able to see it and put it away when he wakes up. Good thing I didn’t lose it. Ren would’ve had my ass, and not in the fun way.

I climb back into bed, propping my pillow up against the headboard and grabbing my phone so I can check for any missed calls. My heart jolts when I see dozens of missed calls and texts from Ren.

“Oh fuck, please don’t be anything bad,” I mutter, opening the text thread.

REN: I can’t decide if I’m pissed or amused right now. I can’t believe you did this and with Ollie of all people

That’s not a good sign. I scroll up to get more context, and I find a video I apparently sent to Ren at three in the morning. I swear to god if Ollie and I made a porn and sent it to Ren… I shake my head at myself and hit the play button on the video.

“I should call Ren and tell him to come down here. Shit, I think this thing is recording. Oh, I can send it to Ren!” I giggle and hiccup. “Rennnnnnnn, I know you’re probably balls deep in your man, or vice versa, but Ollie and I are at the Little White Wedding Chapel and you should totally come down here and watch us get married. Oh my god, bring Cole too. He should see his brother get married. Can you bring rice to throw? Fuck, do we have rice to throw at their wedding?”

The camera jostles and Ollie comes into view looking just as fucking hammered as I did.

“You’re not supposed to throw rice. We’re going to get bubbles.”

“Bubbles! Ren, bring bubbles!”
I start laughing again, and Ollie joins in. “Dang, they’re calling our name, I have to go. Hey, this means you and me are going to be brother-in-laws. Brothers-in-law? Brother-ins-laws?” I start laughing again, and the video ends.

“Nooooooo,” I gasp, staring at my phone in horror. After the video is a dozen texts from Ren telling me not to marry Ollie and then a few more where he seems pretty resigned to the fact that it probably happened and mildly pissed at me. “No, no, no.”

This is the fourth book in the series, and poor Ollie absolutely deserves his happily ever after. He has to be the most unlucky man with love out of the guys! I would definitely recommend that you read these books in order, as the camaraderie and the stories follow on from each other.

We meet up with the guys planning and attending Ren and Cole's bachelor party in Vegas, followed by their wedding in Hawaii. By some great disaster, Ollie finds himself once again in a position where he will be the joke of the holiday – all because he and Ren's best friend Daniel have woken up in Vegas... yep, married. Desolate at the thought of being the butt of their jokes, Daniel saves Ollie's face by saying that they had been dating and just decided to take the plunge. This then results in a bet, which means they decide to stay together for now.

I absolutely loved how the commitment-phobe Daniel and the romantic Ollie had to learn to live with each other and within the confines of their arrangement. It was sweet, sexy, and just the perfect way to get a relationship to work. All the very best of things happened, whilst they were both busy denying they had a future. Obviously, there are a few hiccups along the way, but this was a story which made me very happy. Thank you!

M/M Romance

Daniel is known as the commitment-phobe of their group. He flits from guy to guy, dresses fabulously, and knows how to flirt with the best of them. Despite knowing that Ollie is a hot man, his fear of truly loving someone always has him choosing men who treat him poorly.

Ollie is the romantic of the group. He wants to be in love with someone – wants to be married. He wants it so much that he's tried it several times. With his last disaster of a relationship, Ollie took a break from trying to find love.

When Daniel and Ollie find themselves in a situation neither believed would ever happen, they have to find creative ways to live together, learn together, and trust. With Vegas in their rearview mirror and the consequences laying before them, these two will have to fight for the right to fall in love.

I really loved this story. It was a true friends-to-lovers romance. It was fun to watch these two figure out whether or not they could love beyond friendship and what it would take to truly trust. I suggest that you read the books in order, because then you can see the nuance of how the other relationships relate to each other.

Screwed is the fourth installment in the Four Bears Construction series. It can be read as a standalone, but it is so much better if you start at the beginning of the series and see how these guys have gotten to this point. I personally started with this book, well first three paragraphs but wanted the full story so I started with book one, Caulky, then Nailed and Hardwood. I flew through the series; I was so invested in these guys and this author delivered!

Anyway, back to Screwed. Screwed is Ollie and Daniel’s story.

Ollie was a romantic at heart. He wanted to be in love and married in the worst way. Thus leading to his four failed marriages. After a guy he was seeing makes a fool of himself, hitting on his friends and he again becomes the butt of the joke, he swears off dating, but not before a quick sympathy blow job from Daniel. Daniel finds Ollie extremely sexy, but they are looking for two completely different things. Daniel is all about hook-ups and avoiding relationships, but being the best friend of the guy marrying Ollie's brother puts them in constant contact planning the bachelor party in Vegas. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas… unless you drunkenly marry you brother's fiancé’s best friend. Not wanting to look like the butt of the joke again, they agree to "fake" being married, until the line blurs between what's real and what's part of the "pretend" marriage.

I loved this series. These characters had me so invested I couldn't get enough. I flew through each book, loving the ride I was taken on. I can't wait for more!

Angie☆☆☆☆
I love this series, each book is different but always hits me with the feels. I'm so glad we finally got Ollie's story. Poor guy has had some bad luck, he wants to be married soooo bad and to be loved. Daniel is not his type, but he's hot and so flirty. These two have chemistry like you wouldn't believe. The sexy times are H.O.T. I love how Daniel doesn't want Ollie's friends giving him crap about his failed relationships. I love how this really felt like a friends-to-lovers book. What I'm most happy about is that we met Miller. which means another book! I don't want this series to end!

Sarah☆☆☆☆
I’ve been waiting for Ollie’s book since the start of the series. As the only one of the four bears desperate for a relationship, it has been painful watching him wait while all his friends paired off. Ollie’s book is worth the wait. His drunken fourth wedding in Vegas starts as a car crash but slowly becomes something real and wonderful.

Daniel and Ollie are opposites at the start of the story. While Ollie is almost pathetically desperate for a relationship, Daniel is terrified of commitment. Their drunken wedding and the bet that follows forces Ollie to slow down and Daniel to appreciate the benefits of a relationship. It works.

This isn’t quite as funny or as memorable as some of the earlier books in this series. But it’s still a great read. The balance between humour and tender intimacy works well and the sexual tension that builds between these two is almost painful. The four bears and their partners are great together and this book brings some closure to the series. K.M. Neuhold is definitely an autobuy author for me now and I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Hardwood by K.M. Neuhold Blog Tour

I’ve spent forty-four years of my life telling the world I’m a carpet man. Is it too late to admit to myself and everyone else that deep down I’m really all about the Hardwood?

It took me over thirty-five years to admit to myself that I’m gay, another seven to find the courage to say it out loud to anyone else, and exactly thirty seconds to develop a massive crush on my daughter’s music teacher. It’s really not my fault, have you even seen those cute bowties he wears?

After everything it’s taken to get here, am I going to work up the nerve to come out to my ex-wife and my best friends? Am I ready to shake up my comfortable, simple life and take a chance on Watson? Or am I going to throw a wrench in my own chance for happily ever after?

***Hardwood is a steamy, seriously so much delicious tension, single-dad, gay awakening, low angst story, which happens to be the third in the Four Bears Construction Series. It CAN be read as a stand alone. There are NO shifters in this series, only the OTHER kind of bears.***

It must be nice to be handy. My kitchen sink has had a small drip for a year that I’ve pretty much just ignored because I don’t know what else to do with it,” he confesses.

“I can take a quick look next time I come over. I’m no plumber, but it’s probably something basic. You might just need a good caulking.”

“Tell me about it,” he agrees. “Oh caulking. Yeah, totally, that.”

I quirk an eyebrow at him and laugh when his face goes red. “If anyone’s mind should be in the gutter, shouldn’t it be mine?”

“There’s plenty of room down here for all of us,” he assures me.

I show him to the living room, realizing once we sit down that I left my laptop out and open when I left the house earlier.

“Oh shit.” I close it quickly so he can’t see what I was looking at.

“Porn?” he guesses. “Don’t be shy, if you found something good, you really should share it with your friends.”

“It wasn’t porn. Although, that goes both ways, feel free to send me any interesting porn links you find.”

“Honey, I’m not sure you want to open that floodgate. But if you’re feeling brave, I’m sure I could fill up your inbox with links,” Watson says, grinning wickedly. My cock perks up at the image of him enjoying himself with some porn. Without my permission, my eyes dart to the crotch of his pants.

He laughs again, letting me know I’m totally busted. “And you’re claiming I’m the one with my mind in the gutter.” He tsks and shakes his head. “So, if it wasn’t porn, what’s so secret on your laptop?”

“It’s nothing,” I lie.

“Come on, we’re best friends, you said so yourself.”

“I was setting up a dating profile,” I confess. “I didn’t finish it though. It’s probably a bad idea.”

“Let me see.” he insists, waving at me to open the laptop back up.

“It’s bad,” I warn, opening it up and logging on. I pass him the computer and sit back to wait as he reads my half-finished profile.

There’s a half smile on his lips as his eyes are glued to the screen. I watch as different emotions pass over his features as he reads— amusement, tenderness, a cringe or two.

“This isn’t horrible,” he says.

“It’s not great,” I hedge.

“No, it’s not,” Watson agrees. “It’s fixable though, if you’re serious about posting it.”

“I don’t know,” I admit. “I started it on a whim this morning while I was sitting here thinking about my friend’s wedding coming up in six months and how much I’d love to have a date to take.”

“You want my honest opinion?” he asks.

“Please,” I say emphatically, sitting forward with my elbows on my knees, ready to hear whatever truth he’s about to lay on me.

“These sites are great for hookups, but not so much for finding the kind of guy you’ll want to take to a friend’s wedding.”

I sigh. “I kind of figured as much.” Leaning back, I pull my hat off and toss it onto the coffee table, dragging my fingers through my hair. “Where do I go to find the kind of guy I’d want to take to a wedding then?”

Watson snorts a laugh. “Babe, if I knew that, I wouldn’t be forty and living alone with a hedgehog.”

I really enjoy this series. You don't need to read the other books to read this one, but it does enhance the experience. Everett is a single dad and hasn't dated since his divorce nine years ago. Watson is Ev's daughter's music teacher. One chance meeting at a bar changes everything. I love Watson and his bow ties and his wonderful personality. Everett is a great dad but needs to start living. This book was funny and sweet. I don't want to give anything away but there is one scene in the book that just made me laugh so hard! I was telling my best friend about it and she said she wanted it in movie form and the name of the book so she could buy it. Vibrator. That's all I'm saying. LOL.

The ending was perfect, and the epilogue was pretty good too. I can't wait for the next book. I hope it's Ollie's book. And please, we need a book for Stone's nephew too!

Sarah☆☆☆☆
The third book in this series is about Everett, a closeted contractor who falls hard for his daughter’s music teacher. Despite the porn-worthy title, this is probably the most innocent and the most earnest book in the series so far.

Everett is a picture-perfect romance hero. A perfect father with washboard abs, Ev is also a sweet but clueless gay virgin. It works. He’s hot and lovely with his daughter. However, it is Ollie who makes the story special. Ollie is witty and charming, and he breathes life into a story that could otherwise be a little bland. His quirky dress sense covers his insecurities and he’s not entirely comfortable with the ‘cuddly’ body that Ev takes an instant liking to. If Ev is a fantasy, Ollie feels delightfully real.

The premise behind this story is beyond implausible. As readers, we are supposed to believe that a man in his forties who spends his spare time hanging out in a gay bar with his three gay best friends is afraid to come out as gay. And we’re supposed to believe that this stunningly handsome man hasn’t had sex in nine years.

Anyways. As with any storyline borrowed directly from porn, the gay virgin thing is actually pretty hot. So is the topless contractor and his tool belt thing. And thinking about it, the hot for teacher thing is pretty hot too. So, between the crazy hot sex and the witty banter, I kinda forgot to pick apart the entirely implausible premise. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
This is the third book in the series – and I would definitely recommend that you read them in order for the full experience, and because the first two in particular are really funny. This one slightly less funny, although there is one scene which possibly absorbed all the hilarity one book can take !!

It is difficult to believe that Ev has put his life on hold for so long, not wanting to hurt his ex-wife or confuse his daughter – but just as he thinks about plucking up the courage, he meets Watson as he tries going to a gay bar on his own. And suddenly he is utterly infatuated. So much so that he doesn't know how to deal with all his feelings. And unusually, I completely accepted learning all this from his inner voice because he really had no one he felt he could tell... until he told his life-long best friend, his ex-wife. It was admirable, but also infuriating! As Watson has a terrible track record with romances, he is almost as keen to ignore their chemistry and pull the plug before they get a chance to explore their feelings.

It is very sweet in places, and also somewhat frustrating, but it is easy to be patient as we let them get their heads and hearts in the right place for the very best of outcomes. I do hope that Ollie finally gets his turn at real love, very soon.

Avid Reader☆☆☆☆
3.5 stars
M/M Romance

Everett and Watson are this book's couple. Ev is part of the Four Bears Construction company and has been in the closet since he can remember. Despite his good friends being out, Ev just can't seem to find the courage to tell his ex-wife that he's gay. And while they have an amazing friendship, he knows that his news could hurt her and that's the last thing that he wants.

Watson is a cute character who loves his job. And while it might be somewhat complicated, he knows that Ev is doing his very best to figure out how to move on with his life and meet someone who will love him. Watson is looking for that exact thing.

Ev was very frustrating in this story. I wish that it had been less about his anxiety to tell people he's gay and more focused on his relationship with Watson. Watson was so patient, and I could tell that it cost him to be that understanding. But, in the end, it's what people in love do. Overall, this story was sweet with a very funny scene thrown in that had me laughing out loud.

My new neighbor is a total tool.

He hated me from the second he laid eyes on me, and I don’t have the first clue why… But, if he wants to hate me, I’m happy to give him a few reasons: mowing the lawn at dawn on the weekend, leaving garbage cans in front of his driveway, renting a petting zoo for my backyard... making a list of ways to drive him crazy is half the fun.

He deserves it with the way he’s driving me crazy right back without even trying – walking around without a shirt on, sweaty rippling muscles on full display, well-worn denim jeans perfectly molded to his... well, you get the idea.

My point is, if he wants a war, I’ll give him one.

I feel like I’m living in a never ending loop of torture, brought to me by my neighbor who’s clearly Satan in the flesh. Did I die and go to Hell? Is that what happened? Because, at this point, I’d believe it.

“What the hell?” I mutter as I step out onto my back porch, once again in nothing but my underwear. My half asleep brain is sure for a few seconds that I’m dreaming. There’s no way there are goats and sheep and fucking donkeys wandering around in his backyard right now, right? Rudy barks excitedly and tries to rush past me, but I manage to snag his collar.

“You an ass man?” Stone calls with a grin, and I’m surprised I don’t give myself a stroke for how much effort it takes not to go over there and punch him. “Get it, ass?” he says, pointing to the donkey he’s holding on a leash.

“What the fuck is going on? Why do you have a whole zoo in your backyard?” Rudy whines and tugs as I hold tight to his collar.

“It’s my goddaughter’s eighth birthday, I rented her a petting zoo.”

“You can’t just rent a bunch of farm animals,” I argue.

Stone looks around pointedly at the menagerie. “I’m pretty sure I can.”

“Hey, quit it,” I shout at one of the goats who has wandered over onto my property and is now helping himself to the lavender bush I planted. “Shoo.”

“Edgar, come back over here,” Stone scolds the goat.

“Edgar? You know the names of every one of these animals?” I ask skeptically.

“No, but doesn’t he look like an Edgar?”

“There’s something seriously wrong with you,” I mutter. “Keep them off my lawn and out of my bushes or your ass will be over here planting all new ones for me,” I warn. A few butterflies flutter past, one of them resting on my lavender bush for a beat before floating away again, but even that isn’t enough to lower my blood pressure.

“Jack will be happy to,” Stone assures me with a serious nod before breaking into another grin. “Get it? Jack ass?” The donkey brays as if he’s in on the joke.

I hate to admit it, but that’s almost funny. But I’ll be damned if I give him the satisfaction of getting a smile from me. Not after he woke me up with some kind of weirdo Old McDonald role play at eight in the morning on a Saturday.

I love this series! Dare and Stone are so cute together. They start out as neighbors and Stone bugs the heck out of Dare every weekend. I love Stone's sassiness. Then there is Dare's dog Rudy, who is a big part of the book, he's such a good boy and even gets a play buddy, Nards. What started as hate turned into a beautiful thing. The epilogue was good too. I can't wait to see who the next book is about. I hope Dare's nephew is still going to show up in the series, I want him to have his story too!

The second book in the Four Bears series belongs to two very growly bears. Stone works construction and Dare is a motorcycle mechanic. Both in their 40s, neither man has managed relationships in the past and they are laughably awful at their first attempts to get each other’s attention.

These men may be in their 40s, but they both read very young. Neither has really moved past hookups and chaotic bachelor lives and Stone’s pranks make him feel more frat boy than company owner. Theirs isn’t a traditional romance in any sense. They start the book as warring neighbours and I’m still not quite sure when angry sex becomes something more. But they are both hot and funny and they definitely grew on me. I think I probably liked the dogs in this book more than their humans at times – but this is a very entertaining read.

I love this series. I am a huge K.M. Neuhold fangirl and it doesn’t seem to matter if the author’s stories are about porn stars, scientists, or construction workers – all the men are fabulous. As always, this is a light, feel-good read with a little bit of depth and heart. I can’t ask for any more from romance writing and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

This is the second book in the series and another great read. I would recommend that you start with Caulky, as you do get the background to the guys working together at Four Bears. But you can enjoy this as your introduction and go back without too much trouble.

Stone has bought himself a fixer-upper, and found himself next door to a very hot and grumpy neighbour with a friendly dog called Rudy. That Stone manages to get Dare all worked up with his early morning mowing, seems to heat things up between them... all the way to boiling over – thankfully in a good way!

Dare is an enigma, although when his grown nephew moves in, we do get to understand that he did not have a good family life. And even he starts to realise that maybe he is allowed to have a happy life too... and maybe, just maybe, Stone could be a part of it. I really enjoyed the time the men spend together building a solid foundation of friendship – even if tinged with the cheek and annoyance which their daily banter delivers.

The Four Bears supply plenty of humour too – and poor Ollie, one day he has to find his soulmate.

Avid Reader☆☆☆
M/M Romance

Stone loves to antagonize his neighbor. He wakes up early to mow the lawn, places his trash cans in the wrong driveway, and just likes to cause mayhem.

Dare is generally a malcontent. He is grumpy, but likes what he does. When his nephew comes calling and needs some advice and a place to stay. With a dog that seems to enjoy Stone's company too, Dare isn't sure what to do about his attractive, but annoying neighbor.

This story swings on a pendulum and it's one extreme to the other. There really isn't a very good buildup or middle ground. I think that this enemies-to-lovers story had a lot of potential, it just didn't really deliver for me.

When she's not writing she's a lion tamer, an astronaut, and a superhero... just kidding, she's likely watching Netflix and snuggling with her husky while her amazing husband brings her coffee.

Four Letter Word by K.M. Neuhold Blog Tour

Relationships are hard enough between two people... can the four of us make it work? Or is love nothing more than a four letter word?

Polyamory... the first time Riot says the word, it feels like everything slots into place. Maybe I’m not greedy for loving both of my best friends at once…

For most of my life I didn’t think I could ever have the kind of love I’ve been dreaming of, but somehow a sexy bartender with a major sweet tooth is making it all seem possible.

Maybe Riot is right, our capacity for love is bigger than most people let themselves see. But will Leo and Hudson feel the same? Will they be willing to try to build this beautiful, complicated life with me?

If I can keep them from ripping each other’s heads off that is...

*** This is book two in the Love Logic series and can be read as a standalone. This is a MMMM story full of love and heat. ***

“Bish, hold up,” Hudson says, wrapping his thick fingers around my bicep to pull me to a stop. My heart beats harder at his touch, everything in me insisting I melt into him and give him anything he wants. After all, it’s what I want too.

I swallow hard and turn to face him. “What’s up?” I ask as casually as I can manage.

He steps closer, crowding into my space until all I can feel is the warmth of his body and all I can smell is his spicy whiskey body soap and a hint of the alcohol on his breath. He cups my face, and the move is so familiar at this point I don’t think I could keep myself from leaning into it if I tried.

“Come home with me?” he asks, his voice a low murmur that vibrates through me and strokes my cock awake without any effort.

“I…” My brain is foggy from the booze, but more than that, my body is quickly getting drunk on Hudson’s closeness. If I say yes, I know we’ll have a fun night together. He knows exactly how to touch me, exactly how to make me come so hard I’ll see stars for hours. I sway into him, my cock fully hard just thinking about how Hudson’s bare skin feels against mine. “Have to go home... alone.”

Hudson’s shoulders sag. He strokes his thumb across my cheek without saying a word and I wonder if he’s hoping to change my mind. His hot breath ghosts over my lips a fraction of a second before his mouth is on mine. I brace for a hungry onslaught, steeling myself to refuse him again no matter how good the kiss is. But, to my surprise, his lips move slowly against mine, which is strangely harder to resist than if he shoved his tongue down my throat and started grinding his erection against me. I put my hands on his chest, curling my fingers around the fabric of his shirt and parting my lips to deepen the kiss.

It’s entirely too easy to get lost in the sweet rhythm of his mouth, the familiar taste of his tongue, the comforting feeling of his body against mine.

He breaks the kiss without warning and I drag in a breath in an attempt to get my thoughts back in the right order.

Ugh... this one missed the mark for me. I can really enjoy MMMM if it's done right. I just couldn't connect to these guys. I tried, I really did, but it never happened. This just didn't click for me, it seemed like all four guys were good when it was two on two but all four together just seemed off to me. The one and only scene with all four wasn't that steamy to me either and with four it should be scorching. I'm sure others will enjoy it, it was just a miss for me.
