“So, where do we think she got on the brother kick?” Jared asked as he stirred some of the honey that Adler’d brought us into his mug. Ad had taken up beekeeping. Why? Not a clue, but we all suspected that it was so he could brag about having a big stinger in the locker room. They’d found out Layton was allergic, so he watched the bees from a distance.

“Probably at the indoor playground over in Camp Hill earlier,” I said while dunking a Stella D’oro cookie into my tea. I’d have a few. Cookies were not recommended by the Railers nutritionist as healthy afternoon snacks. “She was playing with Michelle Khan.”

“Oh, yes, Mrs. Khan just had a baby,” Jared replied, then added one more dollop of honey to his mug. “A little boy.”

“Yep. She was cooing and cuddling the baby until we left. She even skipped the jungle gym and slide to tickle tiny Joey’s chin.”

Jared’s eyes flared. Lottie never passed the jungle gym and slide. Ever. I’d had to climb in a time or two to extract her when it was time to go. Jared—the old D-man that he was—was too burly to fit. The parents who had gotten to witness a hockey player trying to wedge his shoulders into a skinny tube with monkeys painted on the sides had found it pretty amusing. As had the local press the following day. Nothing says professionalism after just signing a new multi-million dollar contract like being photographed wriggling through the monkey tumble tube.

“That explains it,” he commented as he began thumbing languidly through his daily read of The Patriot News online. The man looked sexy AF in those reading glasses.

“Yeah, I guess.” I nibbled on my cookie, my phone showing a half-read article in The Athletic waiting for me to return to it. “You know we could consider it.” That brought his gaze up from the local news. He studied me over the top of his DILF glasses. “What? It’s not as if we haven’t discussed having another baby. It was kind of always our plan.”

“Well… yes, I know we’ve discussed it.” He removed his glasses, folded them, and laid them by the cookie box. He assessed me intently. “Do you think it’s something we should look at more closely?”

“Maybe?” I reached for another cookie, my sight darting from the cookie to Jared to the window where the glass was coated with a touch of frost around the edges. Fall was here, and it was glorious. We had pumpkins to carve, cider to drink, and Halloween costumes to decide on before the end of the month rolled around. “I mean she is here alone all the time.”

“She’s not alone. She has us, a nanny, and now, a dog.”

“Well yeah, I don’t mean like we Kevin McAllister her or anything, it’s just…” I plucked the cookie from its wrap, then dunked it quickly into my tea, hurrying to get the shortbread treat to my mouth. I chewed, then swallowed. Jared sat across from me waiting patiently for me to make my point. “Okay, so, and never tell them—especially Brady—but having siblings to grow up with was pretty nice. Most of the time.”

A big thank you to the authors for taking the time to write more of Jared and Ten's story. It was wonderful to be back with not just this couple that I love but the other members of the Railers too.

Jared and Ten decide to add two children to their family when their 3-year-old daughter asks for a brother. The men decide that they'd like to foster and adopt an older child and are matched with two brothers, Milo and Soren.

Perfect Gifts takes us on through Halloween (I loved Ten's costume), Thanksgiving, and Christmas with their new sons, dealing with difficult situations at home while at work the Railers are not having a great season. This story has some struggles and some sad moments, and it has some heartwarming, funny, and even sexy moments. And I have to mention that hilarious conversation that Adler, Ten, and Stan have on the ice about Valentine's Day gifts. It had me laughing out loud. I wonder how many of us that read this story are going to take Adler's present advice. I know I'm considering it.

Perfect Gifts was a joy to read, and I hope the authors will consider writing more novellas with Jared and Ten in the future.

This is the perfect gift to readers of this series – of that I have no doubt! Scott and Locey have written a really heartwarming, engaging, and dreamy Christmas treat.

I loved seeing the joy of Jared and Ten as husbands and fathers – and now they are looking to adopt a brother to add to their family... and once again Ten has the worry of his brain injury affecting their chances. As we follow their journey to become a bigger family and take the advice of their friends, it is impossible not to want everything to work out.

Great way to catch up with everyone we care about and possibly meet the next generation of Railers!

I woke the following morning feeling as I’d been dragged through a sewer by my feet, face down in the muck, forehead bouncing off the slimy troughs filled with sludge.

Which was a typical morning after a massive headache. Add in jet lag and yeah, I was shit-faced and not in that fun been-partying-all-night-with-my-bros kind of way.

The room was dark, thank all the gods. The only sound was of someone nearby humming and strumming on an acoustic guitar. Sitting up was done in increments. There was a slight wave of nausea and a little dizziness, also typical of a postdrome. The plucking and soft singing stopped at my groan. Inhaling deeply to counter the stomach lurch, I breathed in lavender. It was… nice.

“Morning,” Colorado whispered from a vague point by the windows. In the corner. Maybe on the floor? Fuck. This was so not what I needed today. The aftereffects of a crashing headache usually lingered for a full day after the migraine itself, and left me feeling exhausted and mentally fogged. Just the place I wanted my head to be on the day of my arrival. Go me. Ugh. “I had some ginger tea sent up. My grandmother swears by it for any kind of headaches. Also, she said to rub some lavender into your pulse points so I kind of did that when you were sleeping. Nothing beyond your wrists though, my dude.”

“Oh, uhm…” I lifted my left wrist to my nose. Yep, the smell of lavender wafted from my skin. “Thanks.”

“Totally my pleasure.”

Moving like a geriatric patient, I eased my bare feet to the floor. Had I undressed before crawling under the covers yesterday?

“In case you’re wondering, I took off your shoes and socks, great sneakers by the way, and tucked you in.”

I blinked into the darkness, the memories of yesterday slowing arriving. “I threw up on you. Oh shit, Colorado, I am so sorry.”

This novella is the 11th book in the series – and I really love them all! This one is absolutely perfectly timed and combines a big message with a very personal one to the guys... inspired.

I love the Winter Olympics, and even though there may be some issues around the '22 games, I am sure to spend hours with the TV on in the next few weeks. And it will be extra fun to have in mind some of the behind-the-scenes machinations which this book brings to the fore.

So many threads are pulled together in this installment; possibly seeing Aarni being the most dramatic as it affects every player who had to deal with the incident, and obviously Ten most of all. Then there are the issues of loyalty to a person vs a country, being away from home, being in a closed society, let alone the desire to win a gold medal.

It is absolutely packed full of content, and still there are moments of calm and peace, and the love shines off the page between Jared and Ten... great read!

Rivals is book 11 and the Harrisburg Railers series and we are taken back to our first couple, Ten and Jared. This series has spawned several spin-offs and you’d think after reading so many books written in the same universe things would be getting tired, but I found Rivals was the opposite – it was energising and it left me wanting more.

Jared and Ten are off to the Olympics in China, but they are on opposing teams – the USA and Canada. Jared is torn between wanting to see his son, Ryker, playing for Canada, win gold and also wanting to see his husband win. Ten is feeling the weight of the world on his shoulders, representing his country, representing LGBTQIA sports people, missing their daughter who was left behind in the USA, and even missing Jared as they are separated in opposing team camps.

So personally, there is a lot of pressure on Jared and Ten, but this is balanced with some really exciting hockey. As a reader from Australia who rarely watches hockey, I found the description of the matches easy to follow and I was on the edge of my seat during some of the matches. I was thrilled to get to see various characters that we’ve met and love throughout this series and its spin-offs including Stan, Tate, and Penn.

I had a fantastic time reading Rivals and I can’t thank the authors enough for continuing to show us what happily ever after actually looks like for Jared and Ten. Also, I’m now all keyed-up to watch the Olympic hockey, which starts in just a few weeks’ time. Rivals gets five very happy stars from me.

It was wonderful to be back with Jared and Ten. This time we meet them when they have decided to have a baby. The story takes us from February, when they meet their surrogate, all the way through to Christmas, leaving us with a bit of Christmas cheer.

I loved this series so much and I’m thrilled that the authors keep giving us these novellas so we can see more of the lives of not only Ten and Jared, but all the characters in the Railers series that we love. Seeing Stan again was amazing, and we also get to see how Ryker and Jacob are faring, and to spend fun family time with Ten’s parents and siblings. Ultimately though, this story is about Jared and Ten and their road to fatherhood. Their relationship is as strong as ever and I loved seeing such a strong couple stick together when things get rough.

I can’t thank the authors of this series enough for creating a world full of interesting, loveable, diverse characters that I can’t get enough of. I love that they keep writing more stories and spin-offs. It is great to see authors showing us what happily ever after looks like.

This is the tenth in this wonderful series – and is a really lovely return to Ten and Jared's romance, and the potential for them to start a family of their own. As Ryker is all grown up, and even planning his own wedding, Jared is getting an unexpected second chance at fatherhood.

This is a lovely mix of impending parenthood, scorching hot romance, and some nail-biting hockey moments. Let's be honest, any time Ten takes to the ice, all of us faithful fans are in absolute turmoil every time someone gets close and he might suffer another head injury.

We also have some fun scenes with other members of the Railers family – including a nod to Colorado, and of course, Stan providing some advice and baby gear.

It's not often that a novella can possibly rate five stars, but this short read has just had me in fits of laughter and reaching for a tissue more than once. It is THE perfect culmination of the romance which started it all when Ten and Jared met at the Railers.

This series has been a complete blast from the very beginning, and if you haven't read them all, then I suggest you prepare yourself for this group of hockey players and their adventures.

In this installment, we get to see so many of the important people in the guys' lives and enjoy their unique contributions to the wedding preparation and execution. All utterly in character, so fans will know exactly who will do what and with what level of exuberance and panache. Stan, as always, somehow manages to steal the show with some fabulous lines and completely inappropriate messages to the grooms.

So funny, so sweet, so hot, and so emotional. Thank you, RJ Scott and V.L. Locey – this is the icing on the cake!

Save the Date is just wonderful. I laughed at the crazy goings on around the wedding preparations, I cried when I read Stan’s friend of honour speech, and I swooned seeing Jared and Ten get their dream wedding on the way to their happily ever after.

Sometimes when authors keep writing about characters after their main books are finished, I wish they wouldn’t because there are times when it drags out a story and takes the shine off it. That is not the case with this series. The Railers feel like family and I am excited with every new book, novella, and spinoff. Now I’ve seen Jared and Ten tie the knot and I find myself wanting to go back and experience it all again from the beginning. I love the Railers.

This book is the frothy sweet end to the Harrisburg Railers stories. Jared and Ten are finally getting married and their friends, teammates, and family members want it to be an occasion to remember. In some ways this is a goodbye to all the Railers. Adler plans the stag party, Stan hosts the wedding, and a certain flamboyant figure skater acts as wedding planner.

I’m not a big wedding fan – a view thankfully shared by both Jared and Ten. The result is a funny story about two men who just want to get married and well-meaning interference from much loved characters who want to throw them an extravagant celebration.

This book is light on plot but full of humour and happiness. All our favourite reprobates have settled into domestic bliss but they haven’t lost their charm. I love the relationship between Jared and Ten at this stage in the series and I love the relationships that have formed between the Railers and their partners. This story definitely won’t stand alone, and new readers will need to start at the beginning of the series. Fans who have followed the series from the start as I have will probably shed a few tears as we say goodbye.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆☆
This is the eighth book in the series and is a cheeky, funny, sweet, and sexy addition to the goodness that is the Harrisburg Railers. I would definitely recommend that you read the other books in the series first, as this is very much a story for fans. As a hint, we get to see how Ten is doing, as well as catching up on Cup prospects.

Although Stan's time in Russia led to some nervous moments, thankfully that is not the main feature of the story. No, rather we get to see the family dynamics, the impact on their concentration in the game, and how they help two orphaned children start a new life. There are some very sweet moments and some very funny ones.

It's good to get some ice time and watch the team find their feet again. But the best bit of all, indulging Stan's Elvis obsession, you will have to find out about yourself!


Veronica – ☆☆☆☆
Hat Trick sees Stan returning home to Russia. His cousin has died leaving two children for Stan to bring to America to raise as his own. I have to say there is a bit of tension in the beginning. As an openly gay man, it is potentially dangerous to Stan to go back to Russia, so I was a bit nervous. Overwhelming though the emotions from Hat Trick are love and joy.

I was so happy to get to spend more time with this couple – Stan with his huge heart and broken English and Eric with his quiet strength. Hat Trick had me laughing and smiling and my eyes filled with happy tears more than once. This is a story filled with so much love and happiness and it was a pleasure to read.


Sarah – ☆☆☆☆
This is an almost sickly sweet addition to the Railers series. I had to read it because I needed a bit more of Stan in my life but the happy family storyline kinda left me cold. I read hockey romance for the action, the banter, and the heat – and this story doesn’t contain much of any of these things.

I did enjoy catching up with the team and the couples from previous books. I’m always eager for even the tiniest bit of information about Ten and we get a good glimpse of him here. This isn’t my favourite story in the series. As always, I’m not a fan of children in romance and Stan and Erik are now wrangling three little ones. Saying that, I’m completely hooked on this series and I wouldn’t have skipped this book for anything. This is a short novella that offers a quick catch up with the Railers while not necessarily driving the series any further.

Like me, serious fans of this series will want to read this as soon as possible. Lukewarm fans may choose to skip it – it’s not an essential read. New readers will need to start at the beginning of the series before they will understand this book.
