This book picks up where the last one left off. There is angst, love and hot sex. DeVon has a surprise visit from someone from his past. Given an ultimatum, DeVon doesn’t know what to do. Krissy can tell something is wrong, but DeVon won’t talk about it. While dealing with a situation at Mirage, Krissy has to decide should she fight for what she wants or just let things happen. I couldn’t believe what she almost did, I was actually shocked!!! This was another great installment!

This was a beautiful ending for Krissy and DeVon. They had to fight long and hard to get there but they got there. As always, the chemistry was high, the fighting was extreme, and DeVon's past is a cow. You can't have a man like DeVon and not have the past show up at least once. Krissy has shown her strength throughout the series, she fought for love. Love the cross over with Club Privé: French Connection (Gavin and Carrie). On another note, I would love to see a Landon book! :)
Can't wait to see what lies ahead for M.S. Parker!

Wow! Yeah… That was a seriously messed up predicament DeVon found himself in. Oddly enough, the thing about it that surprised me the most was that Sasha was the first (and apparently only) crazy woman he got entangled with and had to get a restraining order to get untangled from. I suspect that there will be readers who complain that the storyline is too fantastical to be believable. Thankfully, the extremes to which Sasha goes to reinsert herself into DeVon’s life are not something that happens often, but sadly I suspect that it has happened in real life a time or two. What, you demand to know. This is where I must admit that I’m not gonna tell you because it would be a MAJOR spoiler.
Suffice it to say that Sasha’s reappearance seven years later causes a lot of turmoil in DeVon and Krissy’s relationship – a relationship that has now been going strong for a year. The chemistry between them is just as intense as during the previous books in the series, but the sex is even hotter as DeVon has introduced more of his kink into the bedroom. It is because things are still so hot between them that it is so noticeable when Sasha drops her little bomb on DeVon because he suddenly becomes distant and distracted. So even though Krissy has no idea what’s going on, she knows something is pulling DeVon away from her. I will admit that I was surprised by Krissy’s sudden insecurities regarding DeVon and how she seemed hesitant to fight for him – even before she knew what she was fighting for. Fortunately, Ms. Parker drops enough clues that the reader sees the writing on the wall long before the overworked and distracted Krissy does – it was a literal “Ohhhhh” moment for me.
While it is true that Chasing Perfection Vol. IV can be read as a stand-alone book, I recommend against it. Not because you won’t know what’s going on or will be lost, but rather because what makes this installment so impactful is seeing what DeVon and Krissy went through to make it to this point, particularly important is DeVon’s playboy past and Krissy’s ball-busting attitude. For readers new to the series, I think it will be the difference between a good read and a great read and this was definitely a great read for me. So if you picked this up planning to read it as a stand-alone, do yourself a favor and read volumes 1 – 3 first because DeVon and Krissy’s story was a hot and wild ride that I doubt you’ll regret accompanying them on it. And if you’ve read and enjoyed volumes 1 – 3, what are you waiting for? Grab Chasing Perfection Vol. IV now because spending time DeVon and Krissy is well worth the price of admission.

I have enjoyed all of the books in this series and was delighted to get another insight into DeVon and Krissy's romance. I know this says standalone, but really, I think you should read them all to get the whole story. It was by turns fun, sexy, dramatic and heartwarming. I enjoyed the plot, which was comfortably predictable, and was delighted at the outcome.
Looking forward to what Ms. Parker comes up with next!
