This is a short story, many installments to follow of the Serving HIM series. This starts off with Aleena who is a transplant from small town Iowa to the Big Apple struggling to make ends meet. Dominic Snow is the likely hero, rich and gorgeous. He rescues Aleena from falling after being accidentally hit by one of the restaurant patrons where Aleena is a server. Dominic & Aleena find themselves drawn to each other. Aleena goes for a job interview set up by Dominic where she finds the job of a lifetime. His personal assistant.

The story started off a little predictable. We see some insights in Dominic's dark past but not much background. The story moves well enough, but it wasn't until the last 10 pages that I found myself intrigued in where this story might take us. I will definitely stick around for #2.


Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
The first in a serial of 6 installments – a lot is made of this form of release and in this case it definitely works, even if you have all 6 on your Kindle ready to go, the pause between each is just enough to make you think, which I like. Until on demand TV and boxed sets we imbibed nearly all TV series in this format and never thought twice about it. Much of Dickens work was released in serial format (not that I enjoy it!!).

So, the set up happens in this installment and right from the start the heat level, due to some fabulous chemistry in a chance moment, promises much. I enjoyed the little asides and the touches which gave us so much with just hints and suggestions. I was certainly intrigued enough to want to get straight into episode 2.

Things are certainly heating up with this installment! Aleena takes on the job of Dominic's personal assistant. This puts her under his roof and within close proximity to all his domineering ways. Dominic is the perfect dark, troubled, millionaire, alpha male we've come to love in these types of books. He has a tainted past that has only been hinted at but it's affected his ability to love & be loved. His elitist Wasp mother is the perfect strife maker and I'm coming to love her snooty comments & remarks. Add in the rich debutante friend of his mother’s sabotaging Aleena at every turn you've got yourself a good read. On to #3 with gusto!

The second in a serial of 6 installments – definitely need to read 1 first as follows straight on from there.

I loved that Aleena just went with the whole thing, and her "fake it till you make it" philosophy stands her in great stead. I think that the more we get to know her, the more that this thing between them has potential. Some of the scenes are delightful, some quite hard political commentaries – the switching around is refreshing and raises the storyline. The chemistry continues to sizzle, and its effect on Dominic in particular is fascinating. Can't wait to read more!

I ate this one up! Story flew by in a blur and I was loading up Vol. 4 directly after finishing.

Penelope continues to cause issues as she tries to come between Dominic and Aleena...putting her rich, aristocratic nose into everything. Dominic's mom gives us more grief and the relationship heats up with Dominic & Aleena nicely. A good punishment scene ensues...but can Aleena handle what she got herself into? Can Dominic do the relationship side? We'll see! Enjoying the series very much so far!

The third in a serial of 6 installments – definitely need to read in order as follows straight on from the previous episode.

After the dramatic ending to the previous serial, I was very grateful to have time to regroup and dive into this episode. The tenuous hold they have on their emotions, and the newness of their feelings are making for some rocky roads. The interference of others, the demons from the past and the issues of employee/employer relationships are all in the path trying to derail the thing they think they might want to try...and at the same time there are other threads which also engage and challenge the reader. This is rich and heady stuff!

With the 4th installment we delve deeper into Dominic's world. He's attempting to acquire a competitive match making business and this takes him and Aleena to Pittsburgh. Penelope makes a surprise appearance & attempts to yet again disrupt the fragile relationship Dominic and Aleena are trying to forge. She's just about successful, convincing Dominic that Aleena is behaving badly.

We get some more information on Dominic's dark background after Aleena gives him the ultimate ultimatum...spill or I'm walking. I'm enjoying the dynamic between Aleena and Dominic. Aleena is half black and the racial slurs by the upper crest people Dominic runs with have her brisling. Her comebacks and strong will make her a great female lead character. Dominic has some very good dirty talk in this installment and I love a Dom with dirty talk!

The fourth in a serial of 6 installments – definitely need to read in order as follows straight on from the previous episode.

As Dominic struggles so much with the idea of needing Aleena, not just wanting her, things threaten to derail again – even without the interference of others. The ever present issues of class and race are raised again, and forces the reader to really think about the attitudes of these characters. We learn more about Dominic's past, as Aleena forces the point. It is so clear that he really does need her, but can he bear to live with that reality. As this becomes a relationship it is ever harder for him to cope with the idea. In the meantime we are also treated to some dazzlingly good chemistry laden scenes which I think may be better read in private!

My fascination with how this will play out is undiminished, so off to book 5 straightaway!

Best installment yet to the Serving HIM series! Penelope really heats things up in this volume, causing all kinds of issues with Dominic & Aleena. Truly a character you love to hate! Trust issues plague the fragile relationship and a wonderful punishment scene follows, really infusing the BDSM dynamic into the story. Not to mention that it's written fabulously and smoking hot!! I truly enjoy these characters, and their plights to forge this relationship which has them both reaching out of their comfort zones. I'm highly anticipating the finale!

Wow, this is possibly the hottest of the books so far – fanning myself wildly!

Things are ever tenser as Aleena admits her feelings are much stronger than they possibly should be and Dominic still can't see how he can be what he believes she needs. Throw in the distractors who have a totally different story ready written for the billionaire, and the tenseness only gets worse. At this stage we have to believe that we will get the ending we want, but a bit like a Dom with a sub, we are having to wait and accept their timing...

So .... onto the finale ;-)

Loved this last book! Things tied up nicely with the 6th installment. Dominic finally gets some closure on his past and his adoption. Aleena starts to believe her & Dominic can actually have a relationship and things go well from there with a very nice HEA. Thoroughly enjoyed this story from 1-6, well worth the read! The story was written well with many wonderful scenes showing Dominic's alpha male, characters were believable and the story was fast flowing.

What a perfect concluding installment to this series. So much more than an erotic romance, this deals with a number of significant issues in a thoughtful and at times provocative way. Throw in a host of interesting characters, some off-the-charts-hot enjoyable sex, and some business affairs – and you get a rich, entertaining and very worthwhile read.

This series definitely makes it onto my reread pile – the one for really hot and steamy reads! Thank you Ms. Parker and Ms. Wild.
