Torque by Gillian Archer

Torque by Gillian Archer

She’s his little sister’s best friend—totally off limits. But then again, this tattooed bad boy has never followed the rules.

Maddie

I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t in love with Nathan Burns. We met when I was six and twenty years later, I love him still. But he’ll never see me as anything other than his little sister’s best friend—a pest—if he even thinks of me that much. I’ve got to face facts. He’s not into me. He’ll never be into me.

It’s beyond time to move on.

Nathan

I swear I blinked and my little sister’s best friend—a woman who’s about as off-limits as it can get—grew up. And she’s hot as hell. When did that happen? It doesn’t help that she’s everywhere now—at our weekly family dinner nights, sleeping on my brother’s couch next door, lying out in our complex’s swimming pool in a barely-there bikini. And who are these losers hanging around her lately? None of them are worthy of the woman she’s become. Then again, neither am I.

And when I stumble across her profile on a hook up app, all bets are off.

The Burns brothers are back at it. This time, Nathan is trying to figure out why they agreed to do the TV show. It's one thing to have people film them while they work, it's another thing to have it be scripted. Nathan knows that his brothers think he doesn't listen to them, but he's just trying to show them how much he cares.

Maddie has loved Nathan since she was six years old. The years haven't diminished her crush either. When she finds herself in need of a new place, new job, and all-around new direction, she turns to her best friend, Dylan. Dylan and she are very close, but he also lives right next to Nathan. It's a small kind of hell that Maddie is living right now. She knows that Nathan has never and will never see her as more than his sister's best friend.

What happens when a dating app and sexual tension enter the equation? Things heat up fast. Nathan's eyes are sprung open, and Maddie is hoping beyond all hope than her life will start to go right.

With danger lurking around the Burns brothers, Maddie is sucked right in. It will take all of their strength to come together and solve this, but Nathan and Maddie are willing to see if their chemistry can turn in to something so much more.

Maddie and Nathan speak different languages and sometimes, that can lead to miscommunications. Let's just say that everyone in the book speaks different languages and they all have to figure out how to communicate the same language before someone gets seriously hurt.

I can't wait for the next book!

Maddie has been in love with Nathan for as long as she can remember but Nathan doesn't know she exists other than as his sister's friend. When she decides it's time to move on and try to forget him, she joins a dating app.

Nathan gets the shock of his life when he goes on the dating app for a night of fun and finds Maddie there. He can't believe his eyes. When did she grow up? And he can't believe the answers she gives to the profile questions. He doesn't know if he should scold her or take her out.

This story has a lot going on with the Burns brothers, Dillon is MIA most of the time, the other brothers are trying to make the show work while the producer wants them to bicker and fight. And the producer wants them to hire a bimbo receptionist just because two of the brothers are single. While Nathan is fed up with the producer and his antics, he doesn't want the show to end. He is worried about Dillon though.

I really liked this story, the heat between Nathan and Maddie was good but not off the charts. He was a playboy and it seemed overnight he was a one-woman man. All because he realized Maddie had grown up. This is a really good series, and you can read each story as a standalone or read them in order.

I’d guessed that sex with him would be hot, but nothing had prepared me for the onslaught of a pissed off Nathan. Maybe I’d have to piss him off more.

Spark by Gillian Archer Release Blitz

Flames almost killed this ex-firefighter. And the sparks he’s feeling now might burn what’s left of his heart.

Sabrina

He was a charming S.O.B. when I dated him two years ago, but the Logan Carter who arrives at Bad@ss Builds is a shadow of the one I knew. This Logan is surly, bitter, and scarred—evidence of the fire he survived marks him both inside and out.

Does he really not remember me?

Logan

I’m upright and functioning. Isn’t that enough? I shouldn’t even be alive. And I definitely don’t have time for the bubbly, gorgeous woman from my past who can do better than me.

No matter how much I wish I could be the man she remembers.

“Seriously? I thought you’d be all over that.” The woman was one of the most tenacious I knew. No way she’d just roll over and hide her head in the sand. That wasn’t Sabrina.

“Yeah, I guess it’s taking me a minute to come to terms with the fact that my whole life has been a lie.” She swiped suspiciously at her eyes. But she couldn’t be crying—her voice sounded too flat and matter of fact. “I thought you of all people would get that.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

“Oh come on. You’ve spent the better part of two years pushing everyone you know and love away from you because you survived when most of your crew didn’t. It doesn’t take a psychologist to see that you have a serious f*cking case of survivor’s guilt.”

“F*ck you.” She didn’t know what the hell she was talking about.

“Already have.” Her smile looked more like a snarl. “Wouldn’t mind having one last throw though.”

“You’re nuts.”

“Takes one to know one.”

I snorted a laugh. Christ, how could she be so cute while being all angry and plastered?

“I’ve heard that angry sex is hot. Maybe we should try it.”

I about swallowed my tongue when she said that. While I was busy sputtering, she leaned over and kissed me. Her hand cupped the side of my face as her lips covered mine.

Contrary to her angry words, she was just as soft and delicious as I remembered. She moaned deep in her throat, and I lost it. I took control of the kiss, moving my lips over hers, relearning everything I forgot I knew about her.

I pulled her onto me until she straddled me then pulled her face down to mine so I could kiss her some more. While I was busy kissing her, our hands roamed. I had my hands full of her amazing tits and was thinking about the best way to get her bra off. Because I loved her breasts. They were gorgeous and soft and just everything. I had to have more.

Sabrina must’ve thought the same since her hands raked down my back, her nails scoring my skin under my shirt.

I stiffened.

That used to be something I loved, but not anymore. I couldn’t bear to even look at that part of me in the mirror, let alone touch it. I sure as hell didn’t want her to feel my f*cked-up skin.

A prickling sensation swept over my scalp and my body heated in a way that had absolutely nothing to do with the alcohol or the gorgeous woman on my lap. I pulled back and gulped to keep the champagne down.

Sabrina slumped into me with a moan. “Is the room spinning, or is that just me? Or maybe it’s you.”

F*ck. I held her a little bit away from me, wary she was going to puke. She blinked blearily back at me and smiled.

I sighed. “You’re wasted. We can’t do this.”

What had I been thinking? Everything about this was so f*cking wrong.

But I still really wanted to. My dick throbbed impatiently under her round ass.

We hated each other. Or something. I couldn’t remember exactly. Something else held claim to the majority of my blood flow.

Sabrina loves her brothers. She works in the background of their very successful bike shop. With her past mostly hidden from them, she knows that someone out there is for her, she just has to be patient to find them. However, with as many brothers as she has, finding someone who they approve of is tough.

Logan was once a firefighter. But when tragedy strikes, he knows that he can't go back to that. However, leaving that life behind is easier said than done. His new job allows him to still keep up with fire safety, just in a different capacity.

When Sabrina and Logan meet again, a few years later, it's a chilly reunion. Both remember what they did have and what could have been, but with trust gone, they will both have to decide if they are worth fighting for. There were times when I just wanted to scream at Logan. He was stubborn and very immature. Also, while I really enjoyed the story, it felt more young adult than the others.

Overall, it was enjoyable and I liked watching both Sabrina and Logan figure out that they were worth it.

Mary – ☆☆☆☆
This series is fun, flirty, sexy, intense, painful, and full of love. I think this book is my favorite so far.

Sabrina works with her cousins at the motorcycle shop. When a man shows up to see about installing fire safety equipment, it turns out to be her ex-boyfriend. Logan used to be fun, loving, and carefree, now he is bitter, mean, and acts like he doesn't know her.

Logan realizes who Sabrina is the minute he walks into the motorcycle shop. But the sooner he gets through looking around, the sooner he can get away from her. He is not the same man she knew, and he doesn't want her to see his scars. He notices she looks as good or better than she did two years ago but she deserves someone better than him.

Can Sabrina get Logan to see that they still have feelings for each other? Can she tell him her secret without pushing him over the edge? Will Logan give them another chance? Can he accept help to make his future better?

This story is filled with Logan and Sabrina's pain that will have you crying, and the Burns brothers and their wild ways will have you laughing. But when they come together, this is the best of the Burns Brothers so far, in my opinion anyway. I recommend you read them all and I think you can read them as a standalone too. So enjoy them, I really did.

Fast by Gillian Archer

Family means everything to this tattooed bad boy—good thing since he’s about to start his own.

I wanted her the first time I laid eyes on her. But what starts as a fun time, quickly gets serious when the stick turns pink a month later. My life is already chaos with my recently paroled father popping up and the usual drama at the family business building custom motorcycles. Plus our reality show just got picked up for a full season.

But it really hits the fan when I discover that the new woman in my life is the daughter of the President of the West Coast Kings, the baddest motorcycle club in Sacramento—and our biggest client. Think he’ll like being called Grandpa?

Life just got hella complicated.

Hope just wants to know her dad. She misses her mom, brother, and stepdad, but believes that something might be missing. So, she picks up and heads off towards her biological dad. What she isn’t quite expecting is his lifestyle.

Ryan loves his job. He loves making bikes and seeing the look on people’s faces when they see the finished product. He has always kind of been the brother who is in the middle. He doesn’t really take sides and he likes to keep the peace. When his long-lost family member starts coming around, Ryan is skeptical. But he also wants to support his family.

Hope sees Ryan for the first time at a party that her dad’s club throws. They hit it off and end up spending the night together. What follows is slightly clichéd, but it’s a sweet story about family and choosing who you want to be your family.

I really liked seeing both of these characters grow up. They learn a lot of each other and from their family. I can’t wait to see who comes next.

Mary – ☆☆☆☆
When the Burns brothers deliver a bike they finished to the West Coast Kings, Ryan sees the girl again that has him feeling things he never thought he would feel so soon in life. After a night together, his world is about to change.

Hope knew Ryan from the show he and his brothers were on TV. Even though she was fangirling a little, she really liked him for the person he was. And after a night together, he was even more of the perfect man.

A month later, Hope finds out she is pregnant and Ryan is right there by her side. He wants to be there for every doctor's appointment and everything she goes through. She never expected this tattooed bad boy to stick by her. But when her father finds out, he goes crazy.

Will Ryan or Hope convince her father they are in this together? Will Ryan's brothers accept her? What happens when Ryan's father is released from prison?

I really like this series, but I think Ryan and Hope are my favorites so far, they are the perfect couple. It is a sweet, sexy, and brutally painful story with a happily ever after. Author Gillian Archer has a way with bad boys and the women who tame them. So grab this series and enjoy it.

Build by Gillian Archer

Welcome to Bad@ss Builds where the motorcycles are as sexy as the brothers building them.

Austin Burns

I thought she wasn’t real the first time I saw her. To be fair I was a hungover mess when I woke up and looked into her gorgeous eyes. After getting the second worst news of my life — that my father would be paroled soon — I’d escaped to my buddy’s posh cabin near Lake Tahoe. Now the maid with the gorgeous eyes is snowed in with me, and I wonder if she might be a better distraction than the mountain of booze I’d planned on drinking. She’s curvy in all the right places, and the snow is falling faster.

Rachel Tannenbaum

As a single mom, I don’t have time for men, especially irresponsible tattooed bad boys like my ex. But Austin is hot. And sexy. And stuck here in the cabin with me. I can’t say no to a fling with this bad boy, especially since Austin is so gorgeous and awkwardly sweet.

One night becomes two, and I don’t know if I can risk my heart — and my little boy’s — if Austin wants it to become more when we get through the snow and back to reality.

Mary – ☆☆☆☆
Austin Burns is one of the brothers who build motorcycles and they own Bad@ss Builds. With a reality show behind them and possibly more on the horizon, there is always someone looking to get one of their bikes. When Austin gets some bad news, he needs time to process it and drink until he can't think. He goes to a friend's Tahoe cabin for the night.

Rachel Tannenbaum is a single mom working two jobs and living with her mother, who is in a wheelchair. They live in a rundown apartment and are barely getting by. When Rachel is sent to clean a cabin in Tahoe, she just wants to get done and head home before the snowstorm moves in. When she walks into the beautiful cabin, she finds a very drunk and shirtless Austin Burns.

When the snowstorm hits, both Rachel and Austin are stuck in the cabin for two days. What are they to do with each other? Maybe they should test the electrical current running between them because it is just about to melt the snow.

This story is filled with pain, heartache, and love. The pain and heartache are more from Austin and his brother's past and it will break your heart to read it. The Prologue at the end is for the next book with Ryan and it is going to be so good. This author has a way of telling a story with a broken hero and the woman who helps him heal. So check her out if you haven't read her yet.

Rachel is just trying to get from day to day. She works hard so that she can provide for her family. But when a snowstorm derails her plans, she’ll have to make friends with an unlikely person.

Austin loves his brothers, but sometimes they make him want to pull his hair out. When he finds out someone from his past is about to come around again, he takes off for the mountains. It is kind of his MO – when something is bothering him, he takes off for a few days.

With Austin and Rachel having to spend some time together, they’ll have to navigate assumptions, grumpiness, and an attraction that just won’t let them go.

This is a short story that has a lot going on. Austin is somewhat temperamental and irritating, but he has a good heart. Rachel is strong, tenacious, and has so much love to give. I liked seeing these two figure out what was worth fighting for.
