I'll start my review again by saying I really have enjoyed this series thus far!

Book #6 is about a couple of guys that I really didn't remember much from the series. I don’t know if that's my bad memory or the author's lack of making them known more in book #5? You know how you mostly know whose story is coming up next at the end of the previous book? Well, I had no clue. So, being new to Scott and Liam I went into the story pretty blind. Which wasn't really a problem, their story could even be read as a standalone. Although, as in the previous books, all the boys we've grown to know and love are present in small ways and along for the ride in this story. Which is very nice, we all like our old favs to pop up here and there! EXCEPT when they're all in a scene together and I'm struggling to tell who is who? There was a bit of past character overload during one breakfast picnic scene and I became confused as to who was speaking. Other than Eli, as he seems to be easy to remember as the flamboyant goth boy glue to the whole batch of Bad in Baltimore's boys.

I found Liam and Scott's story really nicely told with great past history, old hurts, and new redemption. I found Scott to be the bad boy with the heart of gold! Along with Liam, who is Scott's lost love, a wonderful second chance at happiness in a life of abandonment and hurt for them both. Liam had some growing up to do and he redeemed himself well in my eyes and Scott's. I thought their romantic trysts to be lightning strike electric and steamy summer nights hot! Thoroughly enjoyed their story!

This is an angsty, gritty second chance romance. Liam and Scott’s intense relationship started when they were in care together as teenagers. When they meet again as adults, they must decide whether they can ever get past their baggage and be together.

I think this might be the darkest book I’ve read in this series. The book starts with Scott homeless and Liam tangled up in personal baggage. Life has been difficult for both men and the author doesn’t offer easy solutions. Scott’s temper makes him a difficult character to like and Liam isn’t an easy character to get to know. The story isn’t all dark though. Hope comes through Liam’s music, Scott’s new job, and a group of supportive friends.

While I like Scott and Liam as a couple, this is a fairly unconventional romance. There is chemistry between the men but furtive hookups in grotty back rooms and cars aren’t terribly sexy. Neither is Scott’s poverty or his slightly twisted values (fancy classic car before everything/everyone else?). These two have lived hard lives so the lack of emotional intimacy makes sense – but it also doesn’t make for great romance. I engaged with Scott and Liam, but I didn’t love their story. However, it might be a book that I would react to differently at another time.

This book doesn’t stand alone and even though I’ve read some of the books in this series, I was struggling at times because I haven’t read all of the previous stories. There are several scenes featuring previous couples that I had no idea about. New readers would be better off starting with the first book and reading the stories sequentially.

Rich party boy Beach (aka David Beauchamp) is always getting into trouble. Quick to jump into any situation that sounds amusing, David ends up on parole and with a tether. He's stuck in town and without his boat, the Fancy Nancy, to take him away from things, Beach is having trouble staying focused. During a tryst in the bathroom at one of the bars Beach frequents, he finds that the dominating one-night stand was exactly what he needed. Not just the fun time but the lack of decision making and submission.

Tai is a dominant and a parole officer. When he's assigned Beach's case he knows he has a conflict of interest. He wants to feel that perfect submission from David again and again.

Beach and Tai are amazing together. They are seriously page-turning hotness! I completely enjoyed their developing relationship and Beach's descent into the D/s lifestyle. I felt that David displayed real emotion and real confusion as to why he was taking to being controlled so easily and the sub drop that followed each encounter was well written. I found David to be much deeper of a character than his rich party boy persona and loved his inner need to please people. I found Gavin a bit abrasive in this installment, treating his old friend as if he was an annoyance.

The Bad in Baltimore series has been stellar in my opinion. I'm on board for the next book!

It's hard to put into words how I feel about this book. At times I was bored because it seemed like the same thing over and over but then at times I couldn't put it down. I loved the first encounter with David (Beach) and Tai, it was hot, fast and furious. I wish every time would have been that good. David acted like someone in their early 20s instead of 34. I wanted to know more about Tai and the whole situation with Sammie. I wanted to know why David didn't know about his father's past but did all kinds of stupid stuff for him, including draining his bank account. The book was good, but I had so many questions at the end. It didn't help that the book ended at 94% either.

Fourth book in the Bad in Baltimore series, which I’m really enjoying, and the one I was really looking forward to! This is Silver's book. He's been a bit of a side character, a lost boy, an enigma. He's been into porn and for hire as a homeless runaway, and we know of him only previously as one of Eli's friends who skates on the peripheral of the main group.

I've been intrigued by his character so was very happy to get his story. This book was really good, and I really felt for Silver and his backstory. He overcame so much and crawled his way out of a bad situation to a real job and a place to live and then gets busted on a technicality of a fraudulent license. Silver finds he has real friends, people who really care what happens, and he starts to believe he's worth something! It was a great "coming to realize that not everyone is out to hurt you" story. All spurred on by the love of his young life popping back up as a friend of a friend.

Zeb is the one who turned his back on Silver in his greatest time of need. Silver was Zeb's first boyfriend, and Zeb still regrets how things went down and with Silver running away. He sees a second chance to prove himself to Silver. I even found I liked Zeb, who had his own reasons for what he felt he had to do when Silver needed him most. The two have a slow burn that leads up to some fevered trysts in bathrooms and garages that burn up the pages.

My only complaint on this book is the overuse of descriptors and purple prose. I understand the scene setting but felt it a bit too much to weed through at times. The story kept me riveted even while I skimmed through the mundane details. The next book is Beauchamp's and that should be interesting!

I'm really quite enjoying the Bad in Baltimore series! At first glance, I was unsure who Jamie was in relation to the rest of the men we've come to know. Not really set well by book two, Jamie and Gavin's story was one I went into blindly on the merit of the other two books. You do get a nice scene with all the characters from the past two with a fun and awkward dinner party for Silver's birthday. So, all the players are there as Jamie and Quinn are old friends. Jamie's character is the hard-ass cop. He's very closed off, very butch, and very much the strong silent type. He's saved Gavin after he rescued Gavin and a friend from the cold, murky water after they "fell" off a bridge. Gavin is the mayor's son. He's rich and ignored by his family. The party boy persona but so much more behind the facade. Gavin finds Jamie to be somewhat interesting and certainly not boring. Jamie's distaste of all things upper-crust actually started to get on my nerves because Gavin never gives the impression of a spoiled brat. I ALMOST found Jamie abusive in his gruff demeanor. Thankfully Gavin's character was made of sterner stuff and he stood up to Jamie. The two had some awesome love-hate sensuality and burned up the sheets. So many misread cues and emotions they made me smack my forehead several times and groan "come on you dummy!!" But that made for a great read and I'm glad I gave these two a try! Silver is up next and that should be a good story!

Between the two less than likeable main characters and the overcomplicated plot, this story didn’t quite work for me.

Nate is a spoiled brat. He slightly redeems himself by the midpoint of the book, but he never really seems to understand real life and he doesn’t seem able to do any genuine adulting. Kellan should have been the more likeable character but his smug hipster lifestyle and his inscrutable hipster job kinda left me cold.

Parts of the story should be sexy but Kellan’s angst ruins far too many moments. I didn’t follow the storyline around Nate and Kellan’s fathers’ relationship and I’m not sure how the corporate espionage storyline was ever supposed to fit into a new adult romance.

After reading book #2 in the Bad in Baltimore series, I wanted to know more about the story of Nate and Kellan's romance. I really enjoyed both these books and I’m interested to know who and where book #3 will go! So far, a great new series for me!

Kellan was Nate's best friend from years past, but after Nate came out as a teenager, Kellan became distant and the two drifted apart. That and Nate's dad and Kellan's dad had a huge falling out as business partners. Kellan's dad wants Kellan to become "a man" and cuts him off after another failed engagement to a woman. Kellan wants to teach his homophobic dad a lesson and decides his old gay friend is just the person to do it. Nate has always been in love with Kellan and his return to Nate's life has Nate dredging up all kinds of old feelings.

Kellan and Nate are beyond hot between the sheets and Kellan's "innocence" when it comes to being with men is very sexy with Nate teaching him the ropes. I think Eli is my favorite character for some awesome comedic relief in both books. This story flows fast and quick and you're very satisfied by the ending. Mitchell is now on my watch list for upcoming books!

5 "fake boyfriend turned real" stars!

This book had it all, great characters, action, lots of steamy scenes, good confrontations, and conflict. I really liked Quinn and Eli's Daddy/boy dynamic as it was very consensual and not over the top. Age play can be tricky and since Eli is 23, he's not too young but he is 10 years younger than Quinn. It was done well in my opinion and Eli was enjoying himself. Quinn's (deep in the closest) ex-boyfriend, Peter, is the man you love to hate! Eli with his opinionated mouth gives us perfect drama and gives Peter a verbal beat down when needed.

I'm going back to read Kellen and Nate's story in the first of the series because I enjoyed these two even though they were not the main characters of the story.

I didn't read the first book but I didn't feel like I was missing anything. Let me start off by saying that Peter is a total jerk-face a-hole!!! I loved Quinn instantly and I cried early on in the book. Did I say Peter was a jerk-face a-hole? When Peter does the unimaginable, Quinn needs a date. Eli is a breath of fresh air with a crappy past. Quinn and Eli have such hot chemistry I am shocked my Kindle didn't catch on fire. This was a good story with a little drama and angst. My only complaint is it ended abruptly. I thought a few more chapters or even an epilogue to explain what happened at Thanksgiving and what the aftermath was would have given the reader closure.
