This series ended as it started – all heart and a multitude of surprises.

Devlin de Vincent is at his best when he's trying to protect his family. He doesn't want anything to do with ghosts, spirits, or anything that he can't see with his eyes or hold in hands. Rosie Herpin is just the opposite. She loves the supernatural, which is why every year on the anniversary of her husband's death, she tries to contact him. She wants to know that he's happy.

When a chance meeting with Devlin at the cemetery brings Rosie into his orbit, she can't help but think about getting inside the de Vincent house to see if the rumors are true. But since her friend, Nikki, not only works there but is dating Gabriel de Vincent, she knows that it will never happen.

The mystical magic of New Orleans is present throughout the book. The rich history of the city fits well with the plot of this entire series.

I love the dynamic of Devlin and Rosie and how Rosie's presence seems to give Devlin a sense of peace that he's never had before. Lots of secrets are revealed in this book and it makes me want to revisit this family again and again.

This is the final book in the series and I would recommend reading them in order to get the most out of the series. It doesn't disappoint – the ending is fantastic.

Devlin is the most secretive of the brothers. I have to admit that I didn't think I'd like him because he seems like he's such a stern, uncaring person. When he meets Rosie in the graveyard, you know that things will happen quickly.

Rosie is a free spirit who loves her life. Despite not finding that one person to love, she knows that she has great friends and a fantastic life. But when her friend reads that Rosie will come across the devil, she believes that she already has.

Devlin and Rosie find themselves on a journey of self-discovery and one where they come together to be even stronger. I loved the push pull relationship between the two, and the fact that they were able to draw out secrets from each other just strengthened their relationship.

The dimension that both Devlin and Rosie exhibit in this book is amazing. Armentrout did an amazing job twisting and winding this story until you were guessing what would happen next, only to be surprised. I love that I didn't or couldn't guess everything that was going to happen. It made reading this that much more enjoyable.

There are some crazy twists and I know that you'll love it as much as I did.

I am a huge fan of Jennifer L. Armentrout (JLA) and I have yet to find a book of hers that didn’t completely wow me. I am constantly impressed every time I read a book by JLA and Moonlight Scandals was no exception. From the very first page I was drawn into the story and couldn’t put it down. I read the previous books in the de Vincent series and I have been hooked ever since. I love the way JLA has combined romance with a splash of the paranormal aspect to it! Plus, despite being a series, I think the books can be read without reading the previous one, but I always enjoy having the extra background knowledge on characters that pop up from time to time and I wouldn’t ever pass up the chance to read a book by JLA.

Out of all the de Vincent brothers, I have definitely been dying to read Devlin’s story the most and it was SO satisfying. Only a strong-willed female character like Rosie Herpin, part-time ghost hunter extraordinaire, could put Devlin in his place. Rosie’s character was full of sass and attitude, which made her the perfect match for Devlin. Together, these two had such phenomenal chemistry. Moonlight Scandals was completely worth the wait!

All in all Moonlight Scandals by Jennifer L Armentrout was another FIVE STAR read and I can’t wait to read whatever she writes next!


Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆☆
This is the third book in the series, and I would highly recommend that you read them in order. Partly because the story flows through all the books, but also because they are all excellent reads. From the very beginning we have known that Devlin's story would be a difficult one, but little could we have predicted just how complex.

After the drama at the end of Gabe's book, it was interesting to start with the relative calm of a woman visiting a grave. It was that of her husband, Ian, who unexpectedly committed suicide ten years ago. She still wears his ring on a necklace, and despite studying for three degrees, still works at her parents' bakery. She is a ghost hunter on the side, and later that day tries again to communicate with Ian. What happens at the cemetery and the seance sets up an amazing relationship that just makes sense from the very beginning.

Undoubtedly Rosie is the very last person that one would expect the uptight Devlin to fall for, but their chemistry jumps off the page. The sparks may lead to fury, and the trust issues are definitely going to be a challenge, but wow, what a great dance the author leads them down! And never fear, there's a lot more intrigue too. The de Vincents have more secrets in their family than one would ever imagine... and there had been plenty to keep the reader guessing, and I loved the mix of supernatural and dastardly!

Ultimately, this is a really fulfilling romance between two people who have had tough times, and still hold their responsibilities to family and friends as being key. Devlin, in particular, deserved the love and devotion of someone who could give him all the attention and fun that he could ever desire.

I have added this to my series-to-reread pile, because I am sure that reading them all together will be even better than having enjoyed them over the last twelve months. Very excited to see what Armentrout brings us next.

In the third installment of the de Vincent series, the eldest brother now has a chance to tell his story, one that shouldn't be read without reading the series in order.

From the high-profile de Vincent family, Devlin is called 'The Devil' by the media and public at large. His actions in the previous installments did not endear him to readers. What was created was a craving to know why Dev is the way he is today. With the weight of an entire dynasty on his shoulders, a family curse, and the center of a Gothic manse that seems to have a mind of its own, Dev carries a heavy burden, most of which due to his reactions to acts leveled against him and his brothers.

Rosie came onto the scene in the previous installment as a friend to Nikki. Genuine, no-nonsense, wears her heart on her sleeve, there is no manipulation or double-meaning to her actions or words, which is why she is the perfect balance to Devlin.

Dev and Rosie battle on the pages, with endless banter fueling a love-hate vibe. While having an infectious quality to the interactions, after several pages, I felt as if each interaction should have been stopped sooner, as it started to be grating and unrealistic. Each encounter, I enjoyed their battling, but as it rolled on, I felt enough was enough and got either bored or annoyed. This cycle of love-hate with me and their tension-filled banter continued for the entirety of the novel. I enjoyed the start of the banter, but it always turned into bickering like children before it turned to lust, like the characters were riding herd on the author and she couldn't curtail it soon enough.

The love-hate tension, bantering, and the angst of Devlin pulling Rosie in, only to push her away, it had an addictive quality. But just as with how the banter scenes ran far too long, the book was a bit too long, too slow in the pacing, where I was tempted to skim.

I adored the paranormal aspects of a haunted Gothic mansion, filled with many skeletons in the closet, added with the relationships and friendships of three brothers. All three heroines of the series were unique and original, bringing a refreshing balance to a world where they couldn't trust even those closest to them, all motivations greed and power.

I won't go into detail on the mystery, as no matter what I say would be a spoiler.

My biggest con, aside from the pacing (length) and the run-on bantering, the mystery hasn't been a mystery to me since book one. Not that that doesn't mean many readers will be surprised. I knew what the big reveal was and was satisfied. However (this is the con), another twist was thrown in that I found ludicrous and completely unnecessary, as it brought nothing but shock-value. The solid mystery was lessened by this revelation that took events where I was suspending belief to enjoy the novel, down into soap opera ridiculous territory. That revelation is where an editor should have reeled in the author, said nope, that's off the rails. Just my opinion, and I won't elaborate due to spoilers, but other than perhaps having another book in the future, this lent absolutely nothing to the overall series, story, or characterization, as it just muddied up everything that had been built.

I've enjoyed all three novels, the premise checking boxes of all the tropes I enjoy, so I definitely recommend to contemporary romance readers, fans of the author, and those who like a mystery woven in with their romance.

Moonlight Scandals is the final book in the de Vincent trilogy. We've been introduced to Lucien (book 1), Gabe (book 2), and it's finally time to learn about Devlin aka the Devil! Please read these in order, the mystery unravels as the series progresses, and also there are characters introduced in earlier books. As always, I will not spoil this story for you, but I will be brutally honest.

Devlin is the eldest de Vincent brother, he's the leader of their businesses and wealth. He's also portrayed as very uptight and serious. Devlin is the patriarch and takes his role very seriously, maybe too seriously... Until a chance encounter with a ghost hunter by the name of Rosie, his world is orderly and precise. Rosie is a whirlwind of spontaneity, she is a "feeler," and will allow no one to mistreat her.

The banter between Rosie and Devlin was entertaining, at first. Devlin's stuffiness was the exact opposite of Rosie's openness. This was perfect, I love opposites attract type romance! My favorite is when they FINALLY give in and admit they want one another. Unfortunately, I felt like this want/hate went on, and on, and on. I lost interest and had to walk away from the story a few times. I did enjoy learning about Devlin's past. I really wanted to know what made him the way he was, and boy did I get that plus some!

The mystery of the de Vincents was finally solved, and for that I was thankful. Although I had closure, I was also disappointed in the ending of this trilogy. At this point, I feel like I know these characters and can piece together some of the clues... until I can't and am thrown for a complete loop that didn't entirely make sense.

Overall, this was a relatively entertaining read. I really like Rosie and am starting to like Devlin (just a little bit, Gabe is my favorite with Lucien a close second) and feel like this series has been brought to a close.

Moonlight Seduction is the second installment of the de Vincent series, and I suggest strongly to read in series order. While I don't believe there would be too much confusion if read as a standalone, the reader would miss out on important facets of the storyline given during Moonlight Sins.

I enjoyed Moonlight Sins, especially the Gothic mystery-filled manor house. However, Moonlight Seduction captured me from page one, causing me to click feverishly to see what happens next. I enjoyed the second installment leaps and bounds more than the first, and I believe this is due in part to the narrators.

We met Gabe in the first book – the youngest brother, who had something horrible happen to his ex-girlfriend. Not as intriguing as his big brothers, but more down-to-earth and resonating with readers. He's the good-natured brother. The sweetheart who took good care of Julia in book one. Lighthearted and flirty on the outside, brooding and deep on the inside. The readers will go crazy over Gabe's inner struggles.

Nic is the housekeeper and butler's daughter. She's spent a lot of time in the haunted, cursed house. A decade younger than the youngest of the de Vincents, she has always been seen as the annoying little sister who was too chatty, too clumsy, too awkward – or worse, she was seen as a member of the staff, as below them.

Nic was a pleasure to read. Home to take over her mother's job while Mom has treatments, a grown woman Nicolette encounters the man she's always had a crush on. Her head is twisted when it comes to sex after encounters with both Parker and Gabe.

The gut-punch angst. The mystery. The push-pull. Will they, won't they slow-burn. Love-hate. Second-chance romance. The affluent vs the help. Meddlesome relatives. The Gothic house seeming to have a life of its own. Moonlight Seduction had every single yummy plot device that has me devouring a book.

Was the book perfect? I have no idea since I read it as quickly as possible. Did I know who was doing the mystery part of the novel? Yeah, I did, but it was still satisfying. I always hand out five-stars when I would do just about anything to get my hands on the next in the series.

The Devil's book is next. Gimme. It's going to feel like a long wait until February 2019.

This is the second book in the series and I would recommend reading the first one, as there are aspects and relationships that will continue in book two.

This is Gabe's story. He is the youngest of the brothers and at the end of book one, his life changes forever in more ways than one. While he's trying to figure out how to balance his life, someone he never thought he'd see again comes waltzing back into his life.

Nic is an amazing character. She's strong while also being vulnerable and feisty while also being demure. I loved her snarky side and when she was able to truly speak her mind.

Nic has had a crush on Gabe since she was much younger. When a mistake was made, both were really changed by it. Gabe is kind of a jerk throughout the story and that's one of the reasons why it lost half a star. I wanted to like him so much more, but his push-pull of Nic was sometimes just too much.

Nobody sees what comes at the end and while it's not exactly a cliffhanger, I think that it kind of is, at the same time. Cryptic, I know, but you'll just have to read it so that I make sense. Nic and Gabe will fight, claw, yell, and love all within these pages and it's all so worth it!

I also wish that more was said concerning Nic's family. It felt unanswered and I wish that we were given more on that part of the story. However, I cannot wait for more of these characters.

The de Vincent family has a lot of secrets and in this book a few more are revealed. And perhaps a clue to another?

Nic has loved Gabe since she was a teen. Now at 22, she knows that she's still too young for him, no matter what her heart says. Their one night together four years ago proved to her that he was still in love with his ex-girlfriend and she doesn't want to be a fill-in. She deserves more.

Gabe knows that being with Nic is out of the question. He's too old for her and her father is liable to kill him if he finds out that they shared a night together several years ago.

As eerie things continue in the house, Nic and Gabe renew their friendship and sparks continue to fly. Just as things begin to get serious between them, Dev's fiancée stirs up trouble for them both. When secrets finally see the light of day, their lives will never be the same.


Shelby – ☆☆☆☆☆
I liked the first book in the de Vincent series, but I LOVED the second book!! I was really looking forward to Gabriel's story, and this didn't disappoint. Moonlight Seduction drew me in quickly and completely, with Nikki returning to a place she vowed never to, and Gabriel leading the way...

I love Nikki, she has a spine and sass, and isn't afraid to use them (unfortunately, that's usually frowned upon when thrown at your employer). The de Vincent home isn't new to Nic, as she practically grew up in the mansion, but being an adult, she sees it through new eyes.

This was a slow building, emotionally intense romance that was also eerily nerve-racking, suspenseful, and just really well written. I loved watching Nic and Gabriel come together, it wasn't rushed, but it was heart felt and felt LONG overdue.

I highly recommend this book for the suspense, the slow-simmering romance, and most importantly, the characters!

Jennifer L Armentrout is hands down my favorite author. She has always had the ability to just suck me right into a book and leave me reading all night long. Now, as much as I enjoyed Moonlight Sins, book one in the de Vincent series, I think book two, Moonlight Seduction, was way better! I totally devoured Moonlight Sins, but I’m not gonna lie it did kind of drag a bit in some spots, but Moonlight Seduction just keeps you glued to the pages from start to finish! The whole story just flows so nicely and has such a lovely slow burning build. Although, I think reading Moonlight Sins first isn’t totally necessary because Jennifer L. Armentrout does a good job of kind of explaining any truly useful background information, however, I do think it could be helpful for just for a better understanding of the story. Also, why would you pass up the opportunity to read a book by Jennifer L. Armentrout?

Moonlight Seduction, follows the story of Gabriel de Vincent and Nicolette Bresson. Nikki grew up wandering the halls of the de Vincent home where her parents worked. Now, after having just finished college, she never imagined herself going back to the de Vincent home, but when she finds out her mother is sick, she immediately decides to fill in for her until she’s better. Now all she has to do is try to avoid Gabe, the man who broke her heart, which would be much easier if he wasn’t constantly trying to invade Nikki’s space.

I just really grew a special soft spot for Gabe and Nikki. Also, together on the pages, their romance was so HOT. After reading about the first two brothers in the de Vincent series, I am more intrigued than ever to finally read Devlin’s story in Moonlight Seduction! I just love the way Jennifer L. Armentrout has blended a spooky paranormal feel to her romance. All in all, another solid read!

This is the second book in the series, and I would say that you definitely need to read them in order... and I also want the next book NOW, not when it is due for publication. This is a well plotted, tense mystery with plenty more to be revealed. We are drip fed hints all through the books, but I am very keen to understand more!

In this installment, we get the goodness that is Gabe de Vincent meeting his match with Nicolette, daughter of the family housekeeper/butler. She is a lovely mix of naïve, shy, and feisty young woman. She can only be admired for standing in for her sick mother and up to Dev’s odious fiancée.

I love the woodworking connection that she and Gabe have, and even her BFF Rosie has to agree that his creation of a work room for her in his workshop is pretty romantic! Obviously, he is less than perfect and has done some less than honourable things in his past, but the reader can only hope that he sorts himself out in time to rescue his budding love affair with Nic.

There is still plenty of the gothic mystery in this installment, and with the dastardly protagonists from the last book out of the way, new ones have come to create more mayhem and madness. Another brilliant installment, no doubts at all about that! Please write more quickly, please.

This is a slow burn romance novel. Julia and Lucian have a chemistry that is hard to describe. While I hated how they started, the instant heat between them was hard to deny.

Julia is relocating for a new job – she's nervous but knows that her life needs a change. After getting out of a less than stellar marriage, she feels that she can live her life for herself again. While out with her friend for her going away party, she meets a very handsome man and throws caution to the wind... “whoops” doesn't even begin to cover that when she meets her one-night stand again.

Lucian is essentially written as a manwhore from the beginning. He's the black sheep of the family and is not only proud, but holds his head high when his brothers point it out. What you soon discover is that Lucian is way more sensitive than who he projects. His family has MAJOR issues and watching him interact with his brothers is a test in patience and love. Really, his brothers are nutcases and Lucian seems the most stable.

When Lucian's sister returns after being gone for a decade, unable to communicate, it becomes a mystery to be solved of where she's been. Loyalties will be tested and only Lucian and Julia can find their own way through their relationship. Will the secrets become too much?

This was a very intriguing story with a little creep factor and a lot of twists and turns. I can't wait to see what happens next because I hope those brothers of his get their own stories.

4 Gothic stars.

Moonlight Sins reminded me of Gothic romance. Old-school V.C. Andrews, where the reader is left wondering if there is something paranormal in the air. An old, gigantic mansion, a twisted, rich family who believes they are cursed, mysterious deaths, and questioned lineages.

I refuse to give a synopsis style review, as this truly is meant to be a mystery, and I refuse to post any spoilers, and the blurb gives a good rundown of the novel's setup. I went into the novel blindly, and I'm glad I did.

The book and the series have a great hook – a mystery that isn't revealed until the climax. Even with its slow-pacing, barely a trickle of information regarding the 'mystery' during the bulk of the novel, I was still intrigued enough to keep flipping the pages.

While it's a long book, with a dark, Gothic feel due to the setting and its mysterious characters, I will admit, the pacing and slow reveal does make it feel even longer than its page count. If you're patient, the payoff is worth it. If you're more of an instant gratification reader, more interested in steam and angst than mystery, this novel may not be for you.

While I enjoyed Julia and was curious about all of the de Vincent brothers, the romantic and sexual connection didn't pull me in as much as the mystery did. The romance felt forced, to me anyway. While there was plenty of banter between Julia and Lucian, as well as with Gabe, I didn't feel the spark. I never became emotionally invested in the characters.

I will say, near the ending, I was worried these two characters were going to be kept apart for the sake of another installment with them as the narrators. Not a spoiler, but a guarantee for those who need it – happily ever after was achieved.

While I figured out the mystery early on, and was only waiting to be proven right or wrong, the level of intrigue in the de Vincent family kept me actively engaged. I look forward to reading novels by Dev and Gabe in the future (I hope), and am curious to see where the author takes these characters and the series next.


Mary Jo – ☆☆☆☆
This is not your typical love story. I enjoyed the intrigue, ghosts, family infighting, and dissension. The way the characters are written makes you want more, especially interaction between the brothers. There's a story there that the reader only gets a glimpse of.

A well-known family has its secrets and does its best to protect those they love, and in doing so, often color outside the lines.

The romance between Julia and Lucian starts off rocky, with Julia having difficulty imagining a relationship with a man who seems to have little to no ambition. Lucian knows that there is something about Julia that calls to him, to open his closed heart to a love.

Julia knows that any relationship that she has with Lucian will be second to him protecting his brothers and his twin sister. He's willing to do anything to make sure his sister has the best care necessary and makes a full recovery. Julia wants the same thing but has a feeling that there is more to his sister's condition that meets the eye.

I enjoyed this story, the way the characters were written and can't wait to read the next story in the series.


Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
I don't read many books which give off a vibe of ghosts and even vampires, but the blurb really appealed to me, and to be fair, it is all in the delivery rather than being reality – and I enjoyed the gothic creepiness more than I expected! I am pleased that it is the first in a series, as the de Vincents are an interesting bunch of characters, and there is plenty more to find out, for sure.

I enjoyed the suspense in this novel, and it certainly kept me thinking all the way through, which was fun. It is done with great style, and the layers build up very effectively as the plot develops. From the first scene in the study, to the later revelations, we are led along an overgrown garden path of clues and diversions.

My feelings about the relationship between Lucian and Julia are more complicated – they clearly had chemistry, but after his first act, which was sign-posted, but at the same time rather weird, I took quite a while to warm to him as a serious suitor. Luckily Julia felt the same way, so I could also warm to him as a person, although I have a feeling that future installments will convince me more of the whole thing being real.

I did have a few issues with some of the writing, but I did read a proof, so these things may have been resolved by the final edition.

Looking forward to who features next, and catching up with them all.


Shelby – ☆☆☆☆
Moonlight Sins was my introduction to Jennifer L. Armentrout's writing. I will say that there were good points and bad points, but the good definitely outweighed the bad.

This is a story of intrigue, with many different layers. The de Vincent family is steeped in mystery and plagued with prophecies. The question is, which is real? Are the 'hauntings' real? What or who is the real threat? These all kept me interested in the story, and ultimately kept me guessing. I was able to guess the main angle relatively early, but I had to find out if I was right!

I like the de Vincent brothers, I really want to learn more about them! Lucian is the youngest brother, and not taken very seriously by his family. He's a smooth talker, a bit overbearing, but ultimately, he's American Royalty and he acts like it. It took a while for me to "like" Lucian.

Julia is the girl next door, she's caring, compassionate, and full of fire. She knows what she wants, how she wants it, and when! She will not be manipulated, but she is her own worst enemy. Her head being at war with her heart, this just made me feel like she's a real person.

I loved the slow-build, the teasing and flirting – it was sexy. I enjoyed Julia and Lucian coming together because their interactions were hot. I will say a lot of the book felt like filler, instead of real action, it was just a glimpse in their everyday lives.

I do want to read more about the de Vincent family, both Dev and Gabe have caught my interest. I also want to see how the family moves on from the events in this book.

I absolutely ADORE Jennifer L. Armentrout. Whether it’s young adult, new adult, fantasy, romance, or some combination of all three, I’m convinced I’ll be obsessed with it because if it’s by Jennifer L. Armentrout I know I won’t be disappointed. I simply cannot say enough kind things about her writing! So, it comes as no surprise to anyone that I think Moonlight Sins is definitely worth reading. I loved the whole paranormal suspense vibe it had going on. Plus, I was immediately drawn into the story and it kept me guessing. Although, it took me some time to warm up to Lucien de Vincent, but eventually he won me over. I’m totally intrigued by the rest of the de Vincent brothers and where this story is going next!

I really enjoyed reading about the de Vincent brothers and I can’t wait to read Gabe’s story next in Moonlight Seduction! Also, pretty intrigued by the eldest de Vincent, Dev, and I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for that book too. I’m basically convinced that Jennifer L. Armentrout couldn’t possibly write something I didn’t find utterly riveting. She consistently impresses me in every direction she takes!
