Oh my goodness, so much perfection in this book – in the wonderfully imperfect way of Maggie and Cam.

This may be the fifth book in the series and I most definitely recommend that you read them all and in order... and then you will realise that these two have been skirting around each other for a long while already!

In fact, Maggie gave up on Cam a long time ago and married her loser, now deceased, husband. She is most definitely sworn off men, which makes Cam's return a little inconvenient, shall we say. I loved watching these two circle around each other, get to learn the person underneath the public persona, and try their hardest to make each other's lives better. It was utterly enchanting and also a lot of fun. The rest of the O'Callaghan siblings, their partners and offspring, as well as their parents, all come together in this really family-oriented world to make what they all knew was inevitable years ago, become a reality now.

Delicious from the very first page – do not delay, go and grab a copy and enjoy!

I will preface this by saying I love Proby books. I have read them all several times.

Maggie has been through the ringer with her husband. A bad man to the core, she has had to crawl back to herself after being emotionally abused by him. When she finally feels like she's getting her feet under her, she isn't quite sure what will happen next. She's surrounded by her family, who love her and want what's best for her.

Cameron is part of the O'Callaghans' family through and through. He was adopted into their fold when he was a teenager and never really left.

When Maggie and Cameron finally figure out that their attraction isn't going to go away, both realize that they could have something amazing. But Cameron has a secret, and he isn't allowed to share. Maggie's past comes back to find her again and the O'Callaghans will have to nudge and push these two in the right direction to find happiness.

I was slightly disappointed in this story. It's missing the Proby angst and romance, in my opinion. This was much more a young adult romance and friends-to-lovers type story, but more mundane than I'm used to with Proby's writing. It was still enjoyable, but less like the With Me in Seattle series and the other O'Callaghans series.

Maeve loves her family. She enjoys working at the family pub and knows that when the time comes, she'll find her forever too. As her main gig, she sells real estate on the island. When a handsome stranger comes into the pub, she can't help but flirt. She even goes so far as to give him her number, which she never does.

Hunter is hoping that making a change will help his daughter make better decisions. She is going through a tough time right now, but her choices are bringing her closer and closer to the wrong path and Hunter is doing his best to curtail that path. When he heads to the island, he isn't expecting to find the best Irish food he's ever tasted or to see the most beautiful woman he's ever seen.

When Maeve realizes the stranger from the night before is actually her client, she's slightly disappointed. But she knows that duty calls. As she shows Hunter her island, she knows that her attraction isn't one-sided. Now the question becomes, does she move on that?

Hunter wants to see Maeve as much as possible. But with his daughter and parents around, he also wants to respect them too. When his daughter's absentee mother presents herself, he knows that she only brings trouble. It will take a village to protect his daughter and Maeve is the biggest momma bear out there.

Proby does an amazing job at showing what gorgeous hearts both Maeve and Hunter have. You can see Hunter's devotion to his daughter, and you can see Maeve's ability to share in their joy too.

I'm a sucker for Proby, and this series is no different. I devoured this book in just a few hours! I can't wait to see what happens next!
