This is the final book in the duet, and you must read the prior book first. This book picks up right where the first left off. The story is full of angst, action, and steam. Luca and Dom are still denying there is anything more between them. They both have to look deep inside and see what they want and if they are willing to fight for it. I'm not one to give a lot away in a review. I think it's best to read the book and find out for yourself but trust me, this book is good. Mafia books aren't my normal go to books, but this writing duo is always a must read for me. I wasn't disappointed and neither will you be.


Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the finale of the story of Dom and Luca – and there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that you have to read them in order! If you get to read them together, then you are in for a real pleasure, as you won't have the cliffhanger – but still plenty of tension.

We rejoin with Luca having been taken by his unknown mafia family. Dom has to decide what to do next. As we watch on, we learn why he seeks revenge, watch him damage his relationship with his father, and realise he needs to fight for one with Luca. I love that we get to understand his past along with Luca, and that both men have the intelligence to empathise and make allowances for the traumas experienced by the other.

The mixture of intense, mafia family dramas and wonderfully free and passionate situations make this a fascinating combination of sexy and stressful. A very satisfying storyline. These two talented authors have proved that they can tackle any genre and still make me love it!

This is the first book in a duet… so be prepared to hang at the end of the book! I think in a good way though, so don’t miss out – sometimes anticipation is fun!

Be warned that this is no cosy read – other than Luca, the guys in this story are not good, or in any way gentle. They do the bidding of their mafia boss, and in the current state of danger, are not afraid to do serious damage or kill.

Luca is about to start his general surgery rotation, when he finds himself captive, for no plausible reason. Turns out he is a hidden mafia prince, and the ‘other’ main player in New York has found out, captured him, and has plans for his usefulness in the war. I think this element is written so well, his confusion turning to fear, turning to anger, turning to annoyance and insolence. And the discovery that the man at the heart of it makes his own beat faster and his desire ramp up in dangerous ways.

The transition from enemy and prisoner, to convenient way to scratch an itch, to fear for his safety does not sit well with Dom, but the control over Luca is heady. How he is going to enter the next book and deal with the war and his heart… I cannot wait!

Wow, this was not what I was expecting. Not in a bad way, just not what we are used to reading by these authors. Man, it was good though! I can't even imagine what Luca went through – being plucked from him life and thrown into this mess. I enjoyed the dynamics between Luca and Dom. Since this is a duet, we are left with a cliffhanger. I can't wait to see what happens next. This is such a different book for these authors I'm left wondering, will there be a happily ever after?
