Staged by Olivia Cunning

The world is his stage…

Exodus End’s legendary drummer, Steve Aimes, plays the role of a rock star better than anyone in the business. Since his divorce, he’s embraced every rock ’n’ roll stereotype and uses those vices to keep women at a safe emotional distance, while keeping their physical distance recklessly close. He vowed years ago to never give any woman the power to break his heart again. He just has to keep playing the part, and never drop his guard, and stop obsessing over the keyboardist in their new opening act. He didn’t want Roux’s band on this tour in the first place, but somehow she shattered his barriers without even trying. The only way he knows to save his heart from breaking is to make her his forever, so why does she keep pushing him away?

The stage is her world…

Roux Williams knows an opportunity like this only comes around once in a lifetime. Her band, Baroquen, has finally gotten their big break and are opening for Exodus End and Sinners—two powerhouses of rock—on the European leg of their world tour. She refuses to screw up this opportunity by getting involved with Steve Aimes no matter how gorgeous, sexy and surprisingly attentive he is. She can’t deny her attraction to him—the man has the body of a god and the face of a model—but he’s absolutely off limits. Maybe a lust-crazed weekend on a private island will get him out of her system. Or maybe she’ll fall even harder. Once the tour is over they can date, but until then she must keep her distance, because mixing business with pleasure is not only tabloid fodder, it’s professional suicide. But damn, why does he have to be so stubbornly irresistible?

When their worlds are rattled by a ploy staged to destroy them, Exodus End’s infamous bad boy and Baroquen’s not-yet-famous good girl must figure out a way to have it all and each other.

This is the third book in this series (and links in with the Sinners series too). It is an absolutely wonderful read, and moved the band's story forward a lot, as well as giving Steve his chance at a true happily ever after. I would definitely recommend that you read these books in order, as they really are installments in a bigger story. Just as the second one (Outsider) overlapped some of Insider, this too starts before the conclusion of Outsider... and reminds us of the first time that Steve met Roux!

By the end it is difficult to believe that he said some of those things, but we certainly understand what had provoked him to become such a person. But strip away the layers, and Steve is the ultimate good friend, wonderful boyfriend, considerate lover, and devoted only to Roux. I absolutely loved watching him come out from under the cloud cast by Bianca, and it is a delight to see how deep his friendship with Zach is too. Add in his family, and all the other tests that he has to put Roux through to ensure that she truly is 'the one.' I cannot tell you more, as you need to read it and enjoy every page.

Roux had a truly horrific incident in her childhood that nearly ended her life; however, being fostered by the most amazing woman – who gave all her charges musical instruments and the desire to make music – gave her a second chance at life. All her band mates in Baroquen are fellow foster sisters, and I love their names, costumes, and attitude.

This really is a fabulous book, so find yourself a chunk of time and go and give yourself a fabulous treat. I cannot wait for the next book in the series... as Olivia Cunning says in her comments at the end... this is going to be a big challenge... it is time for Dare!

Combining her love for romantic fiction and rock ‘n roll, Olivia Cunning writes erotic romance centered around rock musicians. Raised on hard rock music from the cradle, she attended her first Styx concert at age six and fell instantly in love with live music. She's been known to travel over a thousand miles just to see a favorite band in concert. As a teen, she discovered her second love, romantic fiction – first, voraciously reading steamy romance novels and then penning her own. Growing up as the daughter of a career soldier, she's lived all over the country and overseas. She currently lives in Nebraska, but never stays in one place too long.

Outsider by Olivia Cunning

Reagan Elliot should be living her dream…

She’s touring with Exodus End as their new rhythm guitarist and gaining more notoriety and fame than she ever imagined possible.

She’s earned the devoted love of not only one, but two spectacular men. Her committed threesome with sexy guitarist Trey Mills and her hunky bodyguard Ethan Conner is stable, loving, deep, and satisfying for all involved.

But sometimes the world sees things differently and is determined to destroy what it doesn’t understand.

Can Reagan’s relationship with Trey and Ethan survive the cruel backlash of the media, her family, and a bigoted public? Or will the talented musician lose everything she holds dear in the face of her own burgeoning doubts?

Outsider is the second book in the Exodus End World Tour series. It’s also the sequel to Double Time, the fifth book in the Sinners on Tour series.

This is the second book in Exodus End series, and also crosses over with the Sinners series, so fans of both will recognise familiar old friends. It also starts before the end of the previous book, but looking at the trio of Ethan, Trey, and Reagan. It is a long read, so perfect for a journey or a holiday – I had to just reduce my sleeping hours to get it read!

If you have read Insider (and I recommend that you do), then you will know that Toni is innocently going to cause the secret relationship between the trio to become public knowledge. Rather than deal with it and admit it, which is what Trey would be happy doing, the other two go into denial and cover-up mode, which then causes all the chaos which ensues. Obviously, they still spend a lot of time privately displaying their love for each other and trying as many variations as their imaginations can find between the three of them – which is undeniably super hot! But in public the issues compound, and I did find Reagan and Ethan somewhat uncool, and definitely not very thoughtful of Trey.

It was great to meet their families, see what made them tick, and how they finally addressed how they would move forward. It was none too soon!

The wider family of Exodus End and Sinners added to the novel, and Trey finally moving on from Brian was great. Perhaps even greater though, was the brave move that they finally took in relation to Sam, and I cannot wait to find out how that works out in the next book in the series.

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
This is the first book in the series and ties in with other Olivia Cunning rock star series – and it is fabulous catching the interplays, but you could also start here and have a great experience.

Exodus End is a world-wide rock sensation. Their manager has signed up for an interactive e-book to be written on their lives. This means that talented, but previously work-at-home Toni will be spending a month travelling with them on tour. She is a fabulous character, and I loved her outlook on her life, her honesty, and her optimism. To say her world is widened by going on tour is an understatement, but she also has a way of reminding the band of what is important.

Logan is the bassist – Cunning runs with all the stereotypes about the importance of bassists with great style! – and he has also been one of the players in the band, with no intention of settling down, or even having a relationship that lasted more than an hour or so. However, he is immediately bowled over by Toni, and the rest of the band enjoy teasing him. As they all travel together, and Toni interviews them too, we get a real sense of who they are and what makes them tick – such a clever way to give us everyone's back story without it feeling forced, but it is hardly a surprise as Cunning is a skilled writer.

I love the humour as well as the romance, and the sense of family which comes out of the pages. But sadly, events are manipulated to damage Toni's relationship with all of them, but have faith in the author, as there are some clever solutions brought into play.

I am very much looking forward to reading the next book in the series very soon. I may also have to go back and revisit the Sinners series too, as that is also a very sexy read!

Myrna is a college professor teaching human sexuality. She's good at her job even if her teaching methods aren't the norm. When she is attending a conference, she notices a group of men at the bar that aren't like all the nerdy teachers. What she doesn't realize is that they are the Sinners, the hottest rock group around. She's a huge fan and takes a chance by saying hello.

Brian is the band’s heart. He wants to be in that committed relationship in the worst way. He just keeps picking the wrong type of girl. When he meets Myrna, he is drunker than drunk, but he realizes how beautiful she is. Can he get her to notice him? Can Myrna hide from her abusive ex and just have fun with the lead guitarist of the Sinners?

I have no idea why it's taken me so long to start this series. When I first started reading heavily, rock books were my first picks. I can't believe I missed these. I feel like a reading failure, but I am happy I am finally meeting the guys. I never knew what I was missing.

I truly did love it. Couldn't put it down. It's sexy and funny. Some of the sex scenes had me fanning myself. I love each different personality of the Sinners and can't wait for more.

I first read this about 4 years ago and loved it (and went on to read all the books in the series that were available!) – and I was so happy to have an excuse to reread it. I think maybe it is even better than I had remembered – and yes, I am going to have to squeeze in reading the rest of the series over the summer.

At the beginning of any series there is an inevitable world building need, but it happens so naturally, that it is almost imperceivable. Yet, as the pages fly by, the reader has a background of knowledge which fills in the gaps as if they had been friends from the word go. Ms. Cunning is a very talented author, who gives enough detail to bring the scene to life, but leaves those tantalising moments where the imagination is left to enjoy...

Rock star romances are beset with drama, and this is no different, but it starts from a very different place, which makes the reader more confident of getting a wonderful outcome. Brian is such a sweetie, and his love of his muse is infinite. Myrna is a great mix of minx and academic. I was so happy to be back in their crazy world. The rest of the band are fascinating and knowing that each gets to tell their story too, made the rereading experience even better.

If you have never read this book, then you should remedy that immediately – if you have, then let me assure you that absence does indeed make the heart grow fonder, and this will be an excellent choice to read again.
