I loved many aspects of this story and liked others, but in the end, it didn't feel like it truly came together for me.

The flashbacks to the past traumas brought wonderful insight to Nick and Mia's story, but over half of the book was revisiting the past, which to me, interrupted the flow of the story. If the flashbacks had been written as perhaps a part 1 and 2, then with the current storyline, I think I would have liked the story more.

The pace of the current storyline advances quickly and the copy that I read didn't have any breaks or spacing to indicate that weeks or months elapsed since the previous paragraph.

I would like to read the next book in the series.

5 stars of amazing but heartbreaking story

This is not an easy story – in fact, this is a really tough second chance romance. The circumstances build up in such a tense way, taking us from when they first meet many, many years ago, to now, and then tracking back again and seeing what happened to cause the rift. Really agonising and beyond sad as it is all unfolds. I don't normally like stories which don't give us the story in a chronological order, but certainly this made it much more intense here. It takes a while to realise just how long they were together first time around – this is not a meet at school and split up for college timeline – this is much, much longer, and fundamentally much more painful.

Having said that, Hannah brings an unexpected lightness to the story and thanks to her, Nick and Mia do get their second chance.

I definitely want to read future books in the series, as this was well written and really made me think about how I would behave in that situation.

I absolutely adored Worth It All. I haven’t read the previous books in the series (which I plan to rectify), but I couldn’t pass this one up when I read the blurb. The idea of a male lead being an amputee is not a new one for me, but the addition of the love interest’s child also being an amputee was something I’d never encountered before. I simply had to read it. I had to know how the author could pull off. I wanted to be wowed and Connor most definitely wowed me.

As a single mother trying to make a better life for her daughter and herself, Paige is working two jobs and going to school. The only light in her life at the beginning of the book is her daughter, Casey, and her cousin, Jenny, who they live with and who takes care of Casey when Paige is working and at school. Just reading about all that she was juggling made me tired. When Jake hits her radar, she can appreciate the man’s looks, but there simply aren’t enough hours in the day for anything more than that. While Jake has no interest in a relationship (thanks to some really nasty baggage from his past), he finds himself drawn to Paige and Casey and wants to help them out with Casey’s prosthetic. In most cases, the fact that Jake just happens to be a biomedical engineer who designs top of the line prosthetics would feel overly contrived. But as Jake is an amputee, and, as we learn later, comes from a family of very intelligent and ambitious people, it’s not much of a stretch to find it believable – especially once we meet his business partners, who are also amputees. As Jake gets to spend more and more time with Paige and Casey, he worries that he is falling in love and, because of his history, worries that he cannot be the kind of man that Paige and Casey need.

I absolutely loved this book. I loved how Jake was able to use his prosthetic to help Casey become more accepting of hers (and going to Kindergarten, lol). In fact, I found the way he interacted with Casey to be beyond endearing. Their common ground helped forge a relationship between them and, truth be told, I’m not entirely sure that Jake didn’t fall in love with Casey before he fell in love with Paige. His reluctance to be more than a friend to Paige is understandable given his past, but this only made their eventual coming together even hotter. And Paige has her own issues that get in the way of a “them,” and I have to point out how nice it was to see a character who could accept help from someone when she really needed it, and understood that the other person needed to be able to help her. In the same vein, I appreciated the absence of high-handedness on Jake’s part. The storyline was ripe for it, but the author chose not to go there. Besides the actual romance, it was watching Jake with Casey that really made me love Worth It All, because indeed, Jake had to decide if a future with Casey and Paige was indeed, worth it all.
