This is the third book in the series and has a few links, but it is not essential to have read the previous books. That said, these three books are amazing reads and whilst not easy, are beautifully written and definitely life-affirming.

Ms. Anders is a very talented author, and once again has written a beautiful story born out of a terrible situation. There is so much more to this book than a simple romance – Luc is afforded the opportunity to save Abby, and in that mission, she saves him right back. The whole book has one in tense expectation of some terrible outcome of action after action, I was drawn to keep reading, and yet was nervous of turning nearly every page.

Some of the most beautifully written paragraphs are those where these two people discover the true meaning of sensuality. From completely different starting places, the descriptions of how they deal with the intensity of their feelings, and their desire for each other.

Thank you for an amazing book which, in addition to being a stunning love story, also gives some frightening insights into life within a sect and fascinating ones about the winemaking business.

This is the second in the series, and after being very impressed by Under Her Skin, I was delighted to read this latest release. It is set in the same town and we see a little of the previous protagonists, but this time it is Dr. Hadley who gets her story told.

She is asked by a very big, scary, biker type to remove some truly awful tattoos, which we discover have a very dark provenance. In spite of her natural fear, she recognises a man full of hurt and cannot turn him away.

And so starts an amazingly slow, meaningful, tortured relationship between two very wary individuals. The build up to the climax is unbelievably long, but completely addictive. Knowing that something has to go wrong gets under the reader’s skin and draws out the angst to crazy levels.

If you like a book to give you full intense reading value, then this will do it in spades. I was, by turns, so engaged that I could not put it down, and then so tense that I did not want to read on... of course once I got to a certain stage, a hurricane could have blown through and I wouldn't have noticed!

Thank you Ms. Anders, another fascinating read.

This is an intense read – very, very good, but not always easy. That said, there is some lovely humour, and a very satisfying ending.

It is most definitely a hot and passionate romance, with a fascinating sharing of power and control, which is very engaging. The musings of the leads are not overdone, and their stories are revealed, in part, through the little actions which define them. And somehow they read each other so carefully and effectively, that the speed in which they connect works.

At the same time as we enjoy the romance, we meet a whole variety of people who make the story so much richer. Cookie is a particular gem, hidden deep in the dirt! The scene is set for a series which has great potential. I am looking forward to see what comes next, in the hope that we return to Blackwood.
