OverTime by Bianca Sommerland

The game isn’t over.

Every win has cost the Dartmouth Cobras, but one family has paid more than any to see the team succeed. Including their control over the franchise.

Which means the future of the team is out of their hands.

Ford Delgado, heir to the dwindling Delgado fortune, sold the team to save it, but a legacy of deceit and crime puts everything he and his sisters fought for at risk. As a family, their bond has grown, but the threat of losing the one thing they share may tear them apart.

Lorenzo Keane, owner of the Dartmouth Cobras, faces the most difficult decision of his life. This team has destroyed one family, and he won’t risk his own to save it. But his passion for the game makes abandoning his place in the Dartmouth Cobras legacy one of the most difficult choices he’ll ever have to make.

A losing streak might mean more than a short season.

The team’s fate rests in the hands of a man with more to lose than a game. Unless Ford can make a new deal. One that will have his family coming out on top. His methods might leave something to be desired, but he’ll stop at nothing to bring home a win.

He is a Delgado, after all.

This is the ninth book in the series and you absolutely have to read the previous books to love and understand this one! All the books in this wonderfully sexy and intense sports romance bring together The Dartmouth Cobras hockey team, from owners to players, but this one seems to do it more than any other. As they all consider what change may mean to their families and their future, we get to see just how deeply it affects the Delgados in particular.

Ford is a man who is so mired in his past, that when faced with a challenge he cannot break the cycle – and until he can acknowledge and accept help, he is stuck. From a man that most readers truly despised to one who we cannot help but love, is a journey that has been skillfully crafted by Bianca Sommerland over many installments. His family is going to be the richer for his growth.

So many other lovely cameos and scenes which give the faithful reader a chance to smile and sigh, and promises of more intrigue and romance to come. Since reading Game Misconduct in 2012 to now, I have been beguiled by this team and every new book is a treat to be savoured. An amazing combination of the machinations of a hockey team and the sexiest, hottest, most passionate, unconventional love affairs I have ever read. Perfection on the page!

Tell you about me? Hmm, well, there’s not much to say. I love hockey and cars and my kids… not in that order of course! Lol! When I’m not writing—which isn’t often—I’m usually watching a game or a car show while networking. Going out with my kids is my only downtime. I get to clear my head and forget everything.

As for when and why I first started writing, I guess I thought I’d get extra cookies if I was quiet for a while—that’s how young I was. I used to bring my grandmother barely legible pages filled with tales of evil unicorns. She told me then that I would be a famous author.

I hope one day to prove her right.

Polished by Bianca Sommerland

Prison or a life of luxury? Let me think…

Reluctant thief Alec Tremaine would rather be behind bars than face his brothers after his first attempt at grand theft auto goes horribly wrong. Desperation had him agreeing to their crazy plan—better to be a criminal like the rest of the Tremaine clan than starve on the streets—but when they abandon him, he’s forced to face the most powerful man in the city.

And given the opportunity to climb out of the gutter.

Right into the bed of Xavier Ashburne.

There’s only one catch. Alec isn’t quite up to Xavier’s standards. Not yet.

His head of security, Luther Cross, the only man Xavier considers his equal, sees something in Alec worth more than anyone ever has. Bound by the rules of his unique relationship with the temperamental millionaire, Luther’s training could decide Alec’s entire future. But giving in to temptation could destroy it.

Alec’s value is in what he must become.

Sensual.

Submissive.

And…

Polished.

It was an unexpected treat when this arrived on my Kindle, and I devoured it as soon as I got it. It may be short, but it packs a punch. I loved how the initial thoughts are of concern, but the honesty of Luther and Xavier shine through, and reassure the reader. Alec was most definitely down on his luck, but wow does it turn around for him – and without a doubt, he deserved it.

I really suggest you get a copy, find a quiet place to sit and read, and enjoy.

Cocky Shot by Bianca Sommerland

Scott Demyan, one of the most polarizing players on the Dartmouth Cobras hockey team, has grown a lot over the past few years. He’s a family man. A father. A dedicated player. He’s become someone to look up to…

But he’s still part of the Trouble Triplets. And behaving can get boring.

What better way to spice up the summer than to take the rivalry developing with the team ‘rookies’ to the next level. A few harmless pranks should keep things interesting.

Until what started as a joke gets a bit… cocky.

In the most literal sense of the word.

When the conflict draws the attention of not only upper management, but the media, the consequences could impact the coming season. And the life he’s worked so hard to build. Can he take the lead and remind the men the games they play off the ice don’t change where they stand as a team? Prove to those he loves that he hasn’t forgotten what’s really important?

He has one chance to repair the damage he’s done.

And it’s going to leave a mark.

A wonderful little addition to the Cobras series – an essential read for any fan! Catch up with the regular gang and find out more about some of the recent additions to the team (two men in particular... with hints for the future).

A one off joke starts off a bit of a war between the newbies and the regular jokers... unfortunately a couple of other events cause an escalation in the level of trouble. Punishments follow – and given the predilections of the Cobras, you can imagine what form those might take! And they lead to an incredibly hot scene for Scott... phwoar.

This may be a novella, but it does a great job of keeping fans engaged and ready for the next book.

Inversion by Bianca Sommerland

In Balthazar ‘Ballz’ Bornstein’s professional opinion, every member of the metalcore band, Winter’s Wrath, needs therapy. After years as an army psychologist, the security guard has the training, but working with soldiers was much different from managing men under the spotlight of the music world. Still, he’s making progress. Except for Connor Phelan.

Connor acts like a carefree jock, but Balthazar has glimpsed his inner pain and growing isolation from his bandmates. The young man is far too appealing and his lust for life, his playfulness, and his mischievous smile bring out the Dom in Balthazar. The security guard struggles to keep his job and his desires separate, but he’s losing the fight. More so when competition shows up—Annette Paige, the wild, headstrong backup vocalist of another band.

When a key member is injured, the two bands are forced to work together, but clashing egos, animosity, and passions jeopardize the entire European tour. The best way to keep the steady rhythm is to get the band members to behave professionally. It’s not looking good, but Balthazar will do his best to keep the boys in line. Maybe a curfew will work. There’s also been the suggestion of a leash, but the man he most wants to collar has already been caged by Annette. The Dom in him wonders if he could bring them both to heel.

One word could bring them together. Or tear them apart. A word none of them can ever say… Mine.

This is the third book in the series, and I would recommend that you read them all in order, as the band's story unfolds and affects future episodes. You will not regret it, as they are all brilliant!

I love how the initial attraction between these three, very different people becomes something much, much more. Balthazar's desire to give Connor some structure is carefully introduced and so hot. When he also realises how much Annette responds to it, there is a whole new future opening up for the trio. It is so perfect at adding depth to the relationship, and gives stability to artists who need grounding.

The underlying plot moves forward the progress of the band, but has a very disturbing element. I may have shed a tear or two by the end. I do hope that the next book is not too far away, because I worried.

Diminished by Bianca Sommerland

When Shiori Ayase comes across a casting call to dance on stage for Winter’s Wrath with a model she idolizes, she jumps on the chance. She needs this opportunity to break free from the control of her step-father, and she made her sister a promise on her deathbed. One that involves learning if the Trousseau brothers are the type of men that can be trusted. What better way to find out than by spending a few weeks with them on the road?

Brave Trousseau has to face the damage he’s done to the band in his efforts to push his younger brother away. But then his goddess, a young woman with a sharp wit and moves that drive him crazy, joins the band on tour to take over the sexy performance meant to entice the crowd, Brave ends up more than motivated to be on his best behavior.

Unfortunately, he’s not the only one enchanted with the girl. Malakai Noble, the band’s bassist, has always been a strong, steady presence at the core of Winter’s Wrath, but he’s now become Brave’s most bitter rival. How can Brave show he’s changed with Malakai's constant reminders of every mistake he’s made? With the band on the line, and Shiori stealing her way into his heart, maybe there’s only one way to prove he’s the better man. And that’s by letting her go.

This is the second in the series and is a brilliant next chapter in the story of the band members of Winter's Wrath. Do read Backlash first as this continues on from that book, and Diminished will be far richer for it. I am assuming that you have in my review.

I am a sucker for the bad guy, so whilst Brave did a lot last time to make us hate him, I was desperate to understand better his behaviour, and hopefully turn things around for the band too. Things are certainly not looking good early on, but I had faith that Ms. Sommerland would create a story that would be worthy of that broken man. Of course we get a lot more than just that, as the band develops under new management, and Alder, Jesse, and Danica's relationship grows. The addition of Shiori is inspired and her secret plays out beautifully. It could have gone so wrong, but again, clever writing and highlighting of particular issues makes it work perfectly.

As always, passionate, enticing, and erotic writing, with a good pace and plenty of story to keep one turning the pages until the end. I finished it at 4am... so be warned!

Butterfly Style by Bianca Sommerland

Freedom has always been a priority for Kelsey “Chicklet” Galloway. From choosing bartending over a ‘real’ career, to avoiding monogamy like the plague, she’s always paved her own way, living her life in a way that makes her happy. As a Domme she is content to give a lucky sub—or two—a night to remember, but she’s never met anyone who made her consider sharing her carefree world.

Until she meets a woman who desperately needs a little taste of it.

Officer Laura Tallant has her whole life in order, is looking at a promotion on the police force in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and finally has some time off for a much needed vacation. When her plan to find some release with her former Master falls through, she’s left searching for an alternative. And finds one that fulfills more than her desire to escape reality for a brief, blissful moment.

Chicklet makes her feel more alive than anyone she’s ever known, but nothing about her follows the rules of what Laura is supposed to want. The last time Laura put her heart on the line, she was left broken and alone. A chance at love might rip open old scars. Or give her a safe place to finally let them heal.

Warning: Contains sex, a boy toy or two, and scenes of consensual BDSM. Also language. Intended for adult audiences.

Author’s note: This is the story of how Chicklet and Laura’s relationship began, which takes place before Game Misconduct (The Dartmouth Cobras #1). There are scenes involving characters from the other books, but it can still be read as a standalone. The hockey is light in this book, but I still consider it a Cobra novella because Chicklet’s earned her place as an honorary member over the years. Any woman who can handle the trouble triplets deserves that at very least! lol

What an absolutely lovely read. It put a number of things from other books into context, as well as being both sweet and sexy. You would really need to have read the series to get the full impact – but actually as a short story about the D/s lifestyle and two rather enigmatic women, it works well too.

I was never a Laura fan before, but this made her behaviours make more sense, and the care that Chicklet takes with her is so beautifully written. I couldn't stop turning the pages to learn more about the start of their very intense and sensual relationship. The difference that trust makes in creating a meaningful dynamic is clear in every scene.

Loved it, but it did whet my appetite for more... so I do hope Ms. Sommerland is busy writing!

Street Smarts by Bianca Sommerland

The one time geeky high school teacher, Rupert ‘Rip’ Martinez, tries to play the hero, it almost costs him his life. Maybe he should leave the rescuing to the tough guys, like the man who saved him, Otto Shriver. Tattoos, dog tags, and a heart of gold, Otto is exactly the type of man Rip would go for.

In his dreams.

When socially awkward meets carefree and confident, it’s probably best they go their separate ways. Their only excuse to ever see one another again is an adorable pup in need of a good home.

Unless they really don’t need any excuses at all.

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
This is a really, really easy and enjoyable read. Ms. Sommerland has once again come up with a fresh take on the story of love and given us another book to devour. Once you've started, you will just want to read to the end, so make sure you have a good sized time window in your future.

The differences between the two men are significant, yet they make the effort to find that they match in all the most important ways. Rip may seem like the luckier of the two, but that is soon nixed, as we get the 'pleasure' of finding out about his parents. Cruella was kinder to her puppies that his mother is to him. Otto's past life as a Marine, and now as a dog trainer, give him an interesting mix of strength and empathy. He needs all his patience and charm to help Rip move towards their much happier future.

I really rather hope that we get to know more of these two men, even if another story concentrates on another couple. I will definitely reread this story when I want a short fix of sexy and uplifting.
