Tasting by Sean Michael

Find out how it all began for Peter and Christian.

Before Toby met Damon, Peter and Christian found each other on the internet.

Still in the army, Christian was inexperienced in not only BDSM, but sex altogether. Still, he has yearnings and furtively explores them in online chatrooms.

Luckily for Christian, seasoned Dom Peter recognizes Christian’s lack of experience and a kindred spirit in the man, and they take their conversations to text messages and Skype calls.

After Christian’s last deployment and only a few months before his discharge, he takes leave and visits Peter so the two men can see if they are as compatible in person as they seem to be online.

This is the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

Veronica – ☆☆☆
Tasting takes us back to where Peter and Christian first meet. This story is erotica and as such, it moves from one sex scene to the next with only the amount of story necessary to keep it ticking along. It was lovely to be back with Peter and Christian and see where it all began. They are a sweet, caring couple and the sex scenes are good. I personally would have liked a little more time taken to flesh out the story and give us more of the emotions of the characters. It would have made the erotic scenes have greater impact.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
I was glad that I had read the preceding stories, and knew of the stability of this couple's current relationship. I found this quite a difficult read in places, because Peter moved so fast. Admittedly we don't know the full extent of the conversations that they had online, but for me, Peter made some huge assumptions. Christian may not have safe-worded, but when we hear his point of view, he is clearly conflicted. It just skated along the edge for me for most of the book, which was a strange feeling. I think it told the story really well, I did get the point, and believe in the outcome, but it was unsettling.

Often referred to as "Space Cowboy" and "Gangsta of Love" while still striving for the moniker of "Maurice," Sean Michael spends his days surfing, smutting, organising his immense gourd collection and fantasizing about one day retiring on a small secluded island peopled entirely by horseshoe crabs. While collecting vast amounts of vintage gay pulp novels and mood rings, Sean whiles away the hours between dropping the f-bomb and pursuing the kama sutra by channelling the long lost spirit of John Wayne and singing along with the soundtrack to "Chicago".

A long-time writer of complicated haiku, currently Sean is attempting to learn the advanced arts of plate spinning and soap carving sex toys.

Barring any of that? He'll stick with writing his stories, thanks, and rubbing pretty bodies together to see if they spark.

Fermenting by Sean Michael

Christian needs what Peter has to give him, but will he let himself have it?

With Toby’s stalker behind bars, Damon and Toby can relax and enjoy their relationship, sinking into basking and revelling in each other.

Things are just heating up for Peter and Christian, though. A former soldier, Christian still hasn’t found his subspace and he’s worried it either doesn’t exist or he’s simply doing it wrong. Peter has as much patience as he needs, though, and he slowly pushes Christian to the edges of his limits, doing everything he can to help Christian grow and flourish.

Christian’s training and the café they’re opening create good excuses for Christian to keep from submitting, even though, deep down, it’s what he really wants. Peter’s perseverance will have to work overtime to overcome them.

Will Christian ever give in to the things he knows he needs? Only time will tell.

Angie – ☆☆☆☆
This is a short, sweet story about Peter and Christian. Christian can’t seem to find his subspace but Peter has all the time in the world to help him get there. I love how patient and kind Peter is and at times insistent with Christian when needed. I loved the truth or dare scene with Damon and Toby too. If you want a quick read with no angst, this is the story for you.

Characters: Well written and believable
Sex: Yes
Religious: No
Would I recommend to others: Yes
More than one book in the series: Yes
Genre: M/M, BDSM, Romance
Would I read more by this author: Yes

Veronica – ☆☆☆
The Beer & Clay series continues with Christian's business taking off and Peter continuing to struggle to get Christian to let go in the bedroom. This story has some delicious erotic scenes and lots of loving. We also get to spend a little time with Damon and Toby as well. I particularly like when the four of them get together. It is always fun.

Fermenting was enjoyable but the story has run its course. This is a series I've really liked and I'd recommend.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
The fifth in the series – and I would recommend that you read them in order, they are good reads, and each builds on the storyline, although this would be a hot snapshot, if you are impatient!

Christian is very bad at letting go and just enjoying. His past as a soldier demanded that he never lost control, and now he is about to open his new business, things aren't any better. However, we watch as he has every attention lavished upon him by Peter, his very generous Master. It is very sensually and insightfully written. We also get to catch up with Toby and Damon, who are in a much better place that previously. Enjoy!

Brewing by Sean Michael

As the love between Toby and Damon deepens, the man intent on destroying their happiness increases his efforts.

Toby and Damon are back in Brewing, their relationship deepening more despite the continuing efforts of a stranger to bring them down.

Helping in their efforts are their best friends Peter and Christian. Peter’s new investment in a three-story building on the same block as Damon’s bar offers Toby the opportunity of having a studio close to home. It also gives Peter and Christian a home they’ve made together, which Peter hopes will bring them closer together.

A former soldier, Christian has a hard time letting go and finding his subspace. It’s going to take a lot to break the conditioning he’s learned in the Army. Peter is stubborn, though, and he’s seriously falling for his strong sub.

Will yet another attack bring down two couples this time?

Veronica – ☆☆☆☆
Sean Michael gives us a lovely surprise with Brewing. Not only do we get more of Damon and Toby's story but we also get some of the story from Peter and Christian's point of view as well. I loved spending time with Peter and Christian and there is more story there so I'm hoping we will see them again.

The mystery of who is terrorising Damon and Toby is solved but this story focuses very much on the intimate lives of the characters and is highly erotic. It was a pleasure to read Brewing and I'll definitely be reading more work from Sean Michael.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the fourth in the series and carries on from the previous storylines. It would be best to read them in order, although this is an erotic feast all on its own too.

It is great to see two couples and how they integrate as friends and grow in their relationships. There is a degree of drama, which thankfully is resolved, so the focus can return to the couples. The intensity, and the heat are almost palpable, the writing is that good. I like how the titles in the series have built up the story and the book makes for very enjoyable reading. I am hopeful of more from Peter and Christian in particular, as there is a way to go for them ...

Thank you Mr. Michael.

Mashing by Sean Michael

Life is good for Toby and Damon—maybe too good. What happens when someone seems intent on destroying their happiness?

Toby and Damon are growing closer every day, with Toby recovering from the shot to his shoulder and Damon trying to keep him from pushing too hard too fast. Things are good between them.

They’re even better in the bedroom, where Toby is learning all sorts of new things and Damon is happily pushing his limits.

They’ve almost forgotten that someone doesn’t seem as happy with their closeness as they are, when Toby walks into his studio to find it trashed and his little apartment ransacked. Are the authorities going to be able to apprehend the culprit before Toby decides the best course of action is to remove himself from the equation?

Veronica – ☆☆☆☆
It felt warm and cozy to get back into Damon and Toby's lives. They have such a loving relationship and are so completely into each other, no holds barred.

There is still a cloud hang over their lives as someone is determined to harm them. But life goes on and Damon and Toby spend more time with their friends Peter and Christian, a couple I'd like to get to know more. The presence of Peter and Christian gives us the hottest scene in this series so far which is saying something. This is a story with loads of sex.

There is no resolution to the ongoing storyline which I presume means we are getting more of Damon and Toby. I'm looking forward to more.

Milling by Sean Michael

Toby and Damon’s whirlwind romance continues, but can they find a balance between love and work? Do they even want to?

Toby can scarcely believe that his life has changed so much in less than two weeks, but it has. His predictable little life has gone from routine to sexually adventurous in a matter of days. And to be honest, he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Damon’s just as into Toby, more interested in exploring with his new lover than spending all his time at the bar. Luckily things are running fairly smoothly there with his hand only occasionally needed on the rudder.

Their idyllic love affair has a few bumps to withstand, though, in the form of an intruder with a gun. Can Toby and Damon survive what happens next?

Veronica – ☆☆☆☆
I really enjoy Damon and Toby's relationship. They explore sex and BDSM in such a fun, consensual way and it was obvious both men were getting their needs met.

We get more story in Milling than we had in the first book and I really particularly enjoyed the scene where we meet Patrick and Christian in Damon's bar. I'm keen to learn more about that couple.

Also worth mentioning is the divine scene in Toby's studio. I never knew sculpting could be so hot! I look forward to reading more about Damon and Toby.

Malting by Sean Michael

Sometimes unpredictable is exactly what’s needed, but can Corner Pub owner Damon convince shy Thursday night regular Toby of that?

Damon loves his life—his bar, his employees and his beer. He especially loves Thursdays. That's when the mysterious little red-head dances into his bar, drinks two honey wheat brews, and flits right back out.

Toby's comfortable. He has a good job, great friends, and he gets paid to do what he loves—sculpt. His life is great, if a little predictable. And if he secretly wears a plug to Corner Pub every Thursday, well...that's nobody's business but his.

But when Toby meets Damon, his predictable little life flies right out the window. Damon shows him the big, wide world of the Dom/sub lifestyle, plugs and piercings, and teaches him that maybe, unpredictable is exactly what Toby needed all along.

Damon and Toby meet at Damon's bar. Toby has been going in every Thursday night for three years. He always orders the same thing. When Damon approaches Toby they click and things get very hot very quickly.

Toby is a virgin when it comes to gay sex and Damon has fun teaching him everything he knows. The book touches a little on BDSM in an easy and loving way.

Malting is made up mostly of hot, dirty guy on guy sex scenes. There is only a little bit of story and it quickly moves on to more shagging. But I really didn't mind. Malting was a good sexy read.
