This is the second story in this series and I did not read the previous book. However, despite not reading book one, I didn't ever feel truly lost.

Skye and Josh make for a strange couple. While they are certainly passionate, they also have this strange barrier between them. The Native American aspects of this story are very interesting, and I think, add to the storyline a lot. There are definite twists in the lives of Skye and Josh that I wasn't expecting.

The true story lies in the serial killer who is terrorizing Seattle. The killer is the epitome of evil. There is something about how McKeehan can write such evil that is truly a talent. The killer's MO is so distinctive and so chilling. You definitely will want to read with the lights on.

I really enjoyed the depravity in this story and thought that it was well developed and intriguing. McKeehan has a talent for letting you into the killer's mind and once you're there, it's hard to get out.
