We Belong Together by Megan Slayer

When the broken road leads you home, we will find each other.

Dare Evans left the small town of Kenton for the bright lights of Hollywood. The moment he climbed on the plane, he missed his college sweetheart. Coming home was always in the cards and a chance sighting is the catalyst he needs. But he’s not alone.

Liam Turner never thought he’d find love so soon after his divorce, but then came Dare. He’s in love and the happiest of his life—but he’s a secret. Dare, the hottest man in the movies, isn’t supposed to be married and certainly not to Liam. Liam’s learned to live with the charade because he knows Dare’s heart… that is until he finds out about Sarah.

Sarah Morrison wants nothing more than to teach at the college, raise her son and live her life. Celebrity was never in her cards. Then Dare and Liam walked back into Kenton. She never forgot Dare…or as she knew him, Daryl. He’s been the only one for her. When she meets Liam, her thoughts change. What if Liam could be the one? What if both men could be? Is she strong enough to withstand the bright lights of fame intruding on her existence?

Can these three people find a way to be together when the rest of the world says they should be apart? When the past joins the present to make a future, love is possible.

This was a really fun story to me. I really liked that you see what celebrities deal with, but you also get to see that they are just people too. I have to admit that I had a hard time with the feelings that developed super fast between characters, but I can also see how there might still be feelings after a long time apart because they were each other's first real loves and they had an abrupt ending the first time.

Watching the threesome juggle the feelings of everyone and making sure one part of the triad didn't ever get feeling left out was fun. I liked that the woman wasn't just supposed to up and leave her life because two mega hotties wanted her. I liked that there was compromise and open conversations. Although I felt like there were still some times when they were shut off about certain things (like Dare's agent). I also thought some parts of the 'drama' were to quickly wrapped up and thrown in like they were just a passing thought when they'd played some serious parts in the story and what brought them all together earlier in the story.

All in all though, I really enjoyed the story and the characters.

Unusually this book review has me slightly stumped. I think the premise for the story is really good. It is super hot and the male leads, in particular Liam, are delicious. What I struggled with is the Richard part of the story. Would she really go for someone like that? Would she not know his family? Would her friends not have dealt with it much much sooner, or told Daryl? I had to let my imagination stretch at that element of the plot.

Otherwise I found it to be a fascinating take on a ménage story, as one pairing had happened early, but ended, the now strong one was cemented in a formal union, and somehow the trio worked – even though there were insecurities, the balance was much more even than it could be expected to be. I think that their age was a part of that resolution.

If you like ménage stories where everyone concentrates on the other equally, then there is a lot to recommend this new release.

When she's not writing the stories in her head, Megan Slayer can be found luxuriating in her hot tub with her two vampire Cabana boys, Luke and Jeremy. She has the tendency to run a tad too far with her muse, so she has to hide in the head of her alter ego, but the boys don't seem to mind.

When she’s not obsessing over her whip collection, she can be found picking up her kidlet from school. She enjoys writing in all genres, but writing about men in love suits her fancy best. The cabana boys are willing to serve, unless she needs them. She always need them. So be nice to Javier or he will bite—on command.

She also writes under the name of Wendi Zwaduk.
