Contractor's Cookies by Kirsten Osbourne

Felicity Quinlan has always felt like the odd duck. She was raised in a family who didn’t allow her to do much of anything, and her personality has always been suppressed. When she moves to Culpepper, Wyoming, she watches her cousins and sister fall in love one by one, until she is the last Quinlan standing. She hopes she’ll eventually find love, but for now she’s too busy working in the bakery she started with her sister and cousin.

When Allen Jennings loses his first wife to one of the cursed underwear models that plagues Culpepper, he’s certain there’s something wrong. He isn’t sure if it’s with him, or human nature, but he knows he’ll never have someone who will stay by his side. When innocent little Felicity Culpepper comes at him, armed with three cookies every hour, he doesn’t know what to think. Will Felicity be able to convince him that some women do love forever? Or will they spend the rest of their lives hoping for the impossible?

Jacki☆☆☆
I began reading this series a while ago and have been happily entertained with each new set of characters and book. Culpepper is a town very full of character and interesting people.

In this installment, we have Felicity and Allen. Felicity is new to Culpepper and working with her sister and cousin at the bakery they run together. She is happy that she has escaped her past, but still feels as if something is missing. When the bakery needs a renovation, contractor Allen walks into Felicity's life, and she's determined to keep him.

Allen is a widower and busy with his work and raising his ten-year-old son. His last relationship wasn't a piece of cake, and he isn't really looking for something new.

Felicity brings everything to the table, determined to win Allen over, and despite his best effort, there is something about her that he just can't resist.

In true Culpepper fashion, this is an insta-love romance that won't appeal to everyone. I enjoy them as nice light reading that is easy to be entertained with on busy days. This particular book was short and sweet with quite a bit of humor. I do think some of the scenarios are more reminiscent of a perfect fantasy world than real life, but a girl can dream right?

Overall, I enjoyed it and recommend it to fellow romance fans.
