Please let me explain my ratings. I knew I wanted to read this story – and I did – but I found the style slow going. I usually read a book or more a day, because once I am in, that is it, I have to just read. With this book, I found I was stopping and then starting again. And after a couple of days of thinking about it, I have come to the conclusion that there is just too much writing – nothing is left for me to work out. Every emotion, every move that they take is given in great detail. Good news is that it is not annoying detail, (colour of sofa, etc) which would have probably made me give up – but it is literally every move and thought. Somehow I needed the space to get into their heads, to find common ground, or even common silence, but there were no openings for me.

That said, I did like the story, how it played out, and the twists. It wasn't too dramatic, but there was enough angst to be interesting. They definitely had chemistry and however hard they fought it, they failed. Maybe the solution and the outcome was obvious from fairly early on, but that did not detract from the way they got there, and certainly laid down some possible future story lines for band members.
