Tailored for Trouble by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

A sassy, sexy, laugh-out-loud rom-com between the hottest man never to be tamed and the woman crazy enough to try

SHE WANTS TO CHANGE THE WORLD.

Taylor Reed is no stranger to selfish, uncaring CEOs. She was fired by one, which is why she has created her own executive training program—helping heartless bosses become more human. So Taylor shocks even herself when she agrees to coach Bennett Wade, the cutthroat exec who got her unceremoniously canned. She’d love to slam the door in his annoying but very handsome face, but the customers aren’t exactly lining up at her door. Plus, this extreme makeover will give Taylor the golden opportunity to prove that her program works like a charm.

HE WANTS TO BUY IT.

Bennett Wade is many things—arrogant, smug, brusque—but trusting isn’t one of them. Women just seem to be after his billions. So when he hires Taylor Reed, he has no desire to change. Bennett is trying to win over the feminist owner of a company he desperately wants to buy, but something about the fiery Taylor thaws the ice around his heart, making Bennett feel things he never quite planned on. And if there’s one thing Bennett can’t stand, it’s when things don’t go according to plan.

They are a match tailor-made for trouble.

Veronica☆☆☆
Taylor and Bennett's first meeting is disastrous and I hated Bennett right from the get go. It takes a long time for Bennett to open up and by then, for me, it was too late. I didn't really warm up to him, but I did understand where he was coming from.

Taylor seems like a strong intelligent woman, but my initial impressions of her were tested as she did one stupid thing after another. Her constant indecision over whether or not she would work with Bennett got on my nerves. The sexism Taylor faces in her work life is horrible and it infuriated me. But she pushes on regardless and that I admired and it kept me reading.

This felt like a long, drawn out romance. In the beginning I read the story in small bits, putting it down when it annoyed me. But my desire to see Taylor succeed kept drawing me back.

There are some funny moments and a few very embarrassing ones. Some things I really liked about this story were Taylor trying to forge a career in a male-dominated world, the reaction of her friends when they find out what is going on with Bennett, and Bennett's ball busting but loving mother.

In spite of the things about this book that bugged me, I did enjoy Tailored for Trouble and I'll give the next story in the series a go when it comes out.

This is one of the books that will suck you in and have you laughing one moment and ready to punch the main characters the next. I absolutely loved it, this is my first book by Mini Jean Pamfiloff but it definitely won't be the last.

Taylor Reed has reached what she thought was rock bottom. After losing her job because of a CEO prick, she thought she'd start her own business teaching CE's to care for their employees, making the working environment better. The only problem, she can't find any work and she's put every last penny she has into the business. Then she's approached by the man who started it all, Bennett Wade. Though Bennett is sexy as all get-out, he's also the biggest a**hole ever. Bennett Wade has been dealt a crap hand over the last few years and he's putting everything he has into his next "project," which is why he needs the help of the smart-mouthed, but sexy, Taylor. Bennett gets what he wants and he wants Taylor to work for him, and he's not taking no for an answer. A battle of wills takes place and when the two are together the chemistry is off the charts.

I love that the author was able to have me hating Bennett in the beginning and loving him by the end, it's fantastically written and has a fast flow. The characters are well developed and thought-out and I'm anxiously awaiting book 2 in this series!
