Until Further Notice by Treva Harte

Brimstone, Texas, had gotten very, very hot to live in for Le McCarthy and Marcos Costa. They live together, sharing the secret that they are teenagers who are the sole caretakers of their shared little sister. They need to outwit and outrun the bullies who are trying to make their lives hell because all they need is for Marcos to turn eighteen, graduate, and get to college on his scholarship. Then they can get out of town and never come back.

Meanwhile Daniel Harris has just returned to the small Texas town where he spent time with his grandfather years ago. He had plenty of secrets of his own but he soon realizes that he’s not too old to fall for two desperate, frighteningly sexy teens even when that’s the absolutely wrong thing to do.

When things get to the breaking point, Harris steps in and all three make a deal to help save the little girl they all want to protect. What none of them want to admit is that they all want something more--something they’re sure neither of the other two can handle.

I had no trouble getting through this one. It definitely wasn't a typical romance read and had a nice touch of taboo.

Le and Marcos are just two teens given the wrong end of the stick in life and are just trying to survive. Their small town is full of judgement and scorn towards them, but their stuck until they can find a way out.

Daniel Harris is out on leave from an injury and returns to where he grew up to check on the diner he inherited.

When Le comes bursting into his life, he soon realizes things won't ever be the same again. Can he rescue these troubled kids that he's come to love, or will he end up being the one needing rescued?

Overall, this was a nice, quick, and twisted read. I was entertained and liked the small town politics aspect that the author brought to the story and it was plenty sexy. I do wish some things had been resolved with a little more detail, but perhaps there will be another book in the future?

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quick and sexy read with a touch of taboo.

I rather enjoyed this story, told from the point of view of each of the three people involved. Le and Marcos clearly have a far greater sense of responsibility than they could have inherited from their parents, and Le is doing everything for their unconventional family to succeed. Harris, newly back in town, is also a good guy, recovering from a war injury. For a short book, we are soon completely up to speed with the scenario, and definitely curious as to how the situation can be resolved. Even with more details than the protagonists, the reader is led a merry dance wondering just how things can reach a good conclusion. It is definitely hot and ultimately satisfying.

One of those books where I definitely would love to have read more, but am enjoying imagining it going well!

Treva Harte lives near a city with many, many attorneys. Thanks to Loose Id and her writing, she is now able to be a recovering attorney and spends her time writing, editing, and dealing with a hyperactive husband (he says he's just very energetic.) She is also co-owner and Editor-in-Chief of the e-publishing company Loose Id.

She and her husband both like writing in whatever time they have left, so they often fight over—sorry, since he is still a practicing attorney they NEGOTIATE—keyboard time. No wonder Treva’s particular brand of sensual romance is a bit offbeat and usually mixed with fantasy.

Treva is multi-published with several e-publishers in print and e-book, a member of RWA, PAN, Passionate Ink, Rainbow Writers, and EPIC, and winner of the CAPA 2003 award in the “Erotic Fantasy Romance” category.
