This Is Love by Caroline Nolan

Rachel Miller had love, life and happiness…until she didn’t.

Uncertain of how to cope and move on without him, Rachel’s life comes to halt as she mourns the loss of her fiancé Ben. Then one night she discovers it doesn’t have to.

By way of dreams, Rachel and Ben continue to live the life they had planned together. It's unconventional, it's not even real, but it's enough for Rachel. For the first time since Ben’s death, she’s happy…whole. That is until she runs into someone she barely knew from years ago and suddenly real life is just as great as her dream one.

Now Rachel doesn’t know what to do. Will letting someone new in threaten what she has with Ben? Or will their love story threaten her new happiness? Is it crazy to chase after a ghost while being caught up by someone very real?

Jacki☆☆☆☆
I really enjoyed this book!

Rachel suffered a terrible loss two years ago and her whole life changed. She had had everything all planned out, but suddenly it was all gone. She doesn't even know how to go on and has spent the last two years going through the motions of life without really living it.

Jackson has spent his last few years abroad as a workaholic, trying to further his career, but has recently moved back home to do more with his life.

When Jax and Rachel meet, neither are prepared for the instant chemistry between them. Rachel is terrified and overwhelmed by the feelings that threaten to open up the wounds she's been holding shut and Jax knows he is interested, but doesn't know if Rachel is ready or capable of being in a relationship with him.

I liked this book a lot. It was refreshingly normal and honest. I commend Carol Nolan for the nice balance between lightheartedness and deep emotional turmoil. While this still had the fast track romance and mushy feel to it, it also held a realistic sad tone of someone going through a loss and grieving from it without being overtaken by sorrow. I found that to be refreshing and nice. I was a little skeptical about the communication or lack thereof between the main characters about Rachel's past, but it wasn't enough to take away from the story for me. I'd definitely recommend this one to romance fans.

Caroline Nolan writes stories about love and all the beauty and ugliness that comes along with it. She lives in Toronto with her husband and their fur baby. She is currently working on her second novel.
