Stuck on Rewind by Dianne Hartsock

Can Ashton let go of his jealousy and be the friend and lover that Lance needs?

Ashton has been in love with his best friend for years, watching him grow from a pretty high school boy to the gorgeous erotic dancer at the club where they both work. The problem is that Lance enjoys the attention of a variety of men while Ashton wants him for his very own.

After a day spent denying his attraction for Lance, standing by while their friend Trey openly flirts with him, Ashton decides it's time to make his move or risk losing his man forever. Once Lance knows how he feels he'll realize they should be together. Or is it already too late?

I am all for a short novella. I love throwing them in between big, long, in-depth books, fills the space until you can devour a larger read. After reading the blurb for Stuck on Rewind, I thought it would make a great "filler" book for me.

Ashton is in love with his best friend, who also happens to be his roommate and they work at the same club. Ashton thinks letting Lance know his feelings will cause a rift between the two. Lance is all about pleasure and isn't real particular who he gets it from. Ashton isn't about to share Lance and doesn't think Lance is going to give up the other men if he were to know Ashton's true feelings.

There is a ton of inner-dialogue, almost to distraction, or the main character talking to himself out loud but either way there was a bunch. I couldn't connect with either of the main characters and there is also Ashton's weird employer, which seemed out of place and definitely not needed.

Unfortunately, this one just wasn't for me.

After growing up in California and spending the first ten years of marriage in Colorado, I now live in the beautiful Willamette Valley of Oregon with my incredibly patient husband, who puts up with the endless hours I spend hunched over the keyboard letting my characters play.

I am the author of M/M erotic romances, both contemporary and fantasy, the psychological thriller, and anything else that comes to mind. Oh, and a floral designer. Which is the perfect job for me. When not writing, I can express myself through the rich colors and textures of flowers and foliage.
