I have to say I was interested in seeing how the author would turn rivalry into something more. And at first I was quite skeptical, but in the end it really worked. Although I will say Cassidy's dream out of the blue was a bit unbelievable as she'd already known him for quite a while and never thought about him in that light, but other than that I actually really loved how things evolved between the characters.

The love/hate relationship, the banter, the angry/hard sex was just... great. I loved that while the sex was hot, the background story kept going as well so it was never dull.

I didn't really understand why Cassidy would think one thing about what she was doing with her client, but then do another and then go back to chastising herself about and think that could've been played off a bit better.

Overall, I really, really enjoyed the book and hope there is more to their story as I felt like we were left with no closure!! I need to know what happens!!!

Mary☆☆☆☆
Playing Dirty is just what it says, Cassidy Whalen and Shaw Matthews work at one of the top agencies for sports players and they will do anything to win the biggest player in the world of football. Denver "Rocketman" Rockford is the guy that every team wants and he wants an agent that will get it for him. Cassidy and Shaw will try to outdo the other to win Denver over. And the way they hate each other you would think that they would not be seen in the same room. When they are alone the sparks fly and they can't stay away from each other. Their love/hate relationship, or lack thereof, is what keeps the other fighting. What will they do to try and win Denver over and get the partner position at work? Both Cassidy and Shaw can't stop thinking about the other. Will they let the lust between them ruin their chances of winning over Denver? They are drawn to each other as they learn more about each other’s past. They will both learn of lies told, guilty feelings and running away. This is a first for me from C.L. Parker and I can't wait for more of this series.

Mary Jo☆☆☆☆
Down and dirty in all aspects is what set this book apart. Cassidy is up for a partnership at the SSE PR firm and she isn't going to let the upstart Shaw derail her plans. When their boss, Wade, comes to her and lets her know that the partnership is riding on her ability to sign the hottest NFL star, she's all over it. The only problem is that Shaw is after the same client.

From the get go, the animosity between Cassidy and Shaw is palpable. There is no give and take, no working together and barely any civility. What does linger under the trash talk is their desire to one up the other and if seduction of the other can gain them an edge...

The sex between the parties is off the charts hot. The chaos that follows is intense.

The ending left me with more questions than answers and I hope there is a book two out soon.

Shannan☆☆☆☆
When I read the synopsis the pull for me was the sports aspect, but other than both main characters being sports agents there really isn't much mention to the actual sports. I did find myself enjoying it regardless. Shaw Matthews and Cassidy Whalen work for the same sports agency, Striker Sports Entertainment. They have been put against each other to gain the hottest quarter back out there, Denver Rockford. The story follows the extremes they will go to get signed by Rockford.

I loved the back and forth between the two main characters. The love/hate they had going on was entertaining. The chemistry was off the charts. I am so interested in seeing where this next book goes with them. I am loving the other characters in this one as well. I hope the series follows along with them, hoping to see more into certain couples too.

Ruthie☆☆☆☆
This is a really crazy book, fueled mostly by off the charts hot sex. Told by both the lead characters, Shaw and Cassidy, it reels us in, raises the temperature and then ... book two better be out soon!

The language is chatty, the characters are larger than life, the scenarios amplified by the love/hate relationship that these two had been cultivating at work, and it is spilling over in the most delicious but hilarious way. Madness on the page, yet so engaging and entertaining.

Please get book two published soon – very soon!

Fortune by Aurelia T. Evans

He’s the reason to be careful what you wish for.

After her jealous boyfriend makes an angry, careless wish, Maya DeLuca finds herself trapped in a traveling demonic circus and at the mercy of a devious jinni, Bell Madoc. She joins the other lost souls of Arcanium who suffer in perpetual purgatory under the weight of their wishes, all making the best of a cursed situation under the rule of Bell and a sadistic Ringmaster.

But Maya’s not even cursed because of her own wish, which means she still has three for Bell to grant.

He may be fond of her—the passion they share as hellfire hot as it is wrong—but that doesn’t mean she’s safe from his endlessly inventive, wicked imagination. He might twist her wishes at his whim for his own pleasure. Or he might just give her what she wants…which could be even worse.

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of exhibitionism and voyeurism, as well as graphic horror-related violence, including dismemberment. There are references to clown, incubus and succubus murder, scenes of BDSM and non-BDSM related whipping. All sex scenes are consensual in Arcanium apart from one brief scene of sexual assault and attempted rape. Scenes of ménage, both MFM and FMF, with multiple partners. There is also reference to needle play, graphic biting during sex and some talented tentacles in a sex scene.

This story completely caught me off-guard. I'd like to mention that I went to the circus with my 5yr old about a week before reading this, and that may have affected my enjoyment of this story (in a good way).

Arcanium is unlike any circus/human oddity show I've ever witnessed, but it isn't so far out of the realm of possible. Clowns, trapeze artists, lion tamers – you name it, this show has it. The question is, who – or more appropriately – What are the real performers?

We start the story as Maya and her longtime boyfriend, Derrick, visit a fortune teller, who just so happens to be part of the Circus that's located in a Renaissance Faire. Upon setting eyes on Bell, the fortune teller, Maya is enthralled. Derrick? Not so much - but that doesn't keep them from enjoying the main attraction: The Circus!
It's amazing how just 1 teeny, tiny moment in time can be responsible for so many branches the road of life can take.
One insignificant sentence, uttered in the "heat of the moment" can irreversibly change one person's life forever – without their knowledge of what's going on!

The Arcanium is a magical place, one filled with magic – golems, jinn, incubus and succubus, demons – oh my! So many characters, so little time!
I was utterly hooked by the 2nd Chapter – I liked Maya and was confused, excited, and completely sympathetic toward her. Upon learning her fate, I was angry but titillated by the possibilities this afforded her.
Bell, the one who made wishes come true was an enigma.

Interesting, unique, exciting, and at times quite steamy – this story transported me to a different world where wishes can come true, not all demons are evil, and love can still conquer all!

An Opportunity for Redemption by Donna Gallagher

Two unforeseen moments in time— One brings them together, the other is a danger so real it could tear them apart.

Antoinette ‘Toni’ Grimaldi prefers to keep out of the spotlight, blend in with the crowd and experience life the same as the bulk of the population. Being a mining magnate’s daughter is a difficult persona for her to uphold. She just doesn’t fit in with high society standards, always managing to say something inappropriate or trip over her own feet at the worst possible moment, resulting in that look of disappointment and embarrassment her parents inevitably wear whenever she’s around.

Meeting a handsome stranger who comes to her rescue and asks her out on a date is so much more than Toni could have ever hoped for on her dream holiday—one she is surprised her parents have even permitted her to take alone. Her fairy-tale moment is short-lived, though, when Toni discovers the stranger has been hired by her family to follow her every move—under the guise of keeping her safe.

Jason finds he is drawn to Antoinette. She is nothing at all like the socialite he was expecting to shadow around London’s nightclubs. After an awkward first meeting, he convinces Toni that there is more to his interest in her than just as her bodyguard. To his surprise, his attraction for the soft-spoken, thoughtful woman grows, despite his usual reluctance to commit to any kind of relationship.

Then a disaster at one of the family-owned mines and a string of death threats force Toni to return home, and her need for a bodyguard becomes a life and death reality.

Publisher's Note: Although this book can be read as a standalone it is best enjoyed in sequence as part of a series.

This was such a sweet story. I felt so bad for Bec having to handle her son's illness alone, but I know why she did what she did when it came to Nathan.

Nathan was surprised, but handled it like a man when he found out he was a father with the one who got away.

I enjoyed this story so much even though the sexy bits were very few and not all that hot, I was more intrigued by the rest of the story and cheered the couple on to make it through everything and end up together along with their son getting through his illness and coming out on top.

The writing was great and I found myself flying through the pages so quickly I read the book in no time at all.

The fact that it is supposed to be US-based, but riddled with Aussie terms threw me off quite a bit though, but not enough since I've read quite a few Aussie-based books.

Can't wait for the next installment of this series.

Mary Jo☆☆☆
The book was very well written and you could feel the emotions rolling off each of the major characters.

That being said, it just didn't work for me. In today's age of social media, I find it hard to believe that Nathan didn't look up Bec long before getting her email. Even people who have been hurt, tend to use social media to see where a former partner is in his/her life.

What did work for me were both parents’ heart-wrenching emotions when it came to their son. Nathan's strong emotions for Danny came through loud and clear, even though he just found out about him. You could really see Nathan's struggle within himself as he tried to hide his anger towards Bec for not telling him about Danny, and his overwhelming sense of despair at learning Danny was so sick and not knowing if he could help in any way.

I think the use of the kidnapping at the end to introduce Bec's brother could have been omitted – Bec had enough issues without adding that element to the story.

Sydney-born Donna Gallagher decided at an early age that life needed be tackled head on. Leaving home at fifteen, she supported herself through her teen years. In her twenties she married a professional sportsman, her love of sport—especially rugby league—probably overriding her good sense.

The seven-year marriage was an adventure. There were the emotional ups and downs of having a husband with a public profile in a sometimes glamorous but always high-pressure field. There were always interesting characters to meet and observe, and even the opportunity to live for a time in the UK.

Eventually Donna returned home a single woman, but she never lost her passion for watching sport, as well as the people in and around it.

Now happily re-married and with three sons, Donna loves coffee mornings with her female friends, sorting through problems from the personal to the international. But she's on even footing with the keenest man when it comes to watching and talking rugby league.

Donna considers herself something of a black sheep in a family of high achievers. Her brother has a doctorate in mathematics and her sister is a well-known Australian sports journalist.

An avid reader, especially of romance, Donna finally found she couldn't stop the characters residing in her imagination from spilling onto paper. Naturally, rugby league is the backdrop to her spicy tales of hunky heroes and spunky heroines overcoming adversity to eventually find true love.

A multiple ARRA awards finalist in 2013 & 2014 for her League of Love series, Donna is spreading her genre wings in 2015 with the launch of her new romantic suspense Haven Security Series and the re-release of her contemporary erotic novella A Fruitful Intimacy.

Unleashed by Erica Chilson Review Tour

Katya Waters has finally made peace with her past, but the present and future are becoming a never-ending nightmare.

At the end of Restraint, Katya fled back to her hometown, seeking solace from Ezra’s constant micromanaging while hiding from her true feelings over what had happened to her at the hands of the men she had grown to trust.

Before Katya can come to terms with the catastrophic events she had endured in Dominion, she is whisked away from the comfort of her safe haven. Never getting a moment to reflect before being thrust back to Dominion, Katya’s defenses are down. Ezra’s controlling and manipulative ways know no bounds when it comes to Katya and their daughter. Vulnerable and susceptible to his influence, Ezra forces Katya and Ava into The Edge Building’s fortress of a gilded cage, where Katya fears she will never get out again.

Hanging on to her sense of self and moral code is difficult for Katya, as Ezra influences every aspect of her life, leaving her feeling powerless and lost as she falls deeper under his spell. Unsure where she fits into the lives of the men who impact her so deeply, Katya seeks direction from an unlikely source to regain her power.

Katya’s intuition screams that she isn’t safe, which is why she allows Ezra to keep her caged safely within the world of his creation.

…And then the notes are delivered – written with the words only the monster ever whispered.

Most women lust over men who are built like Aaron and Roarke – muscular men who could bend you in half with their pinkies. Being petite, big men intimidate me. I don’t care if they are tall. But when they are huge, I fear for my safety. Ezra was created in the image of a Greek statue: pure white, chiseled, with long, lean muscles, and HARD.

A highly aroused Michelangelo’s David slips into the water behind me, sighing deeply as if in bliss. Ezra curls his arms around me, holding my back against his chest. Without preamble, his sneaky fingers go right back to work again – thrusting in and out of me, rubbing over my g-spot with pinpoint precision.

“I’m sure that is defeating the purpose of the spermicide,” I murmur in a sluggish voice, not caring either way. “Aren’t you washing it away?” My breathing picks up as I start to enjoy his invasion.

“It kills the sperm instantly. This–” Ezra moves his fingers faster and harder, splashing water over the side of the bathtub to spill to the floor. “Is just because I can. Excuse me if my pride is a bit bent tonight. You witnessed the worst of Cort – a side of him I thought he’d keep private between us. Yet again, someone else gets to have you when I cannot.”

I start to protest, “Ez–” but he cuts me off.

“We both need this. The connection. The intimacy. The release. Relax. You were close to orgasming moments ago, so just enjoy it,” he breathes into my ear, tickling the small hairs floating about.

My reply dies on my lips as Ezra slides me up his chest until I’m sitting in his lap. His arms are wrapped around me, one hand slipping between my parted thighs. His legs are beneath mine, holding me open to his touch. I lean my head backward, resting against his shoulder. Ezra hums his contentment against my cheek, happy to experience this level of intimacy with me – a level I’ve never breached with anyone but him.

Ez shifts his hips, forcing a sharp gasp out of my throat. The sensation of his cock resting against my slit has my eyes rolling back in my head. All the while, Ezra’s hand keeps up its assault, with his erection resting against his hand and my pussy. He rubs my breasts with one hand while the other is relentless on my g-spot: over and over until my eyes go sightless and I’m mewing nonsense against his neck.

Ezra tweaks my nipple hard, and I writhe from the painful pinching sensation. It’s an agony just this side of pleasure. Abandoning my breast, his hand slides down my tummy, and then fists his cock, arm bending to reach its resting place between my thighs. He starts rubbing himself next to my pussy, against me, over me – teasing us both into oblivion.

Eyes squeezing shut, I try to keep the building moan at bay. Ezra’s fingers are thrusting inside of me, manipulating my g-spot, while the other hand is hitting my clit with every pass over his cockhead.

“You have to stop. I’ve gotta pee.”

My body is filling with uncomfortable pressure – bloating to the point of pain. While my mind is overcome with intense emotions I cannot release. Ezra is touching me intimately, connecting with me, and I’m loving every agonizing second of it. It hurts to know Ezra isn’t mine, but it doesn’t lessen the emotions rolling though my heart. I try my damnedest never to speak the words aloud.

“No, you don’t,” Ezra croons in my ear, fingers thrusting faster. “You’ve done this for me before. It won’t be as messy this time since we’re in the bath. Orgasm for me, Katya. I want to be the one who does it for you,” he pleads in my ear, sounding desperate. “You gave this to Cortez earlier, and it kills me that I didn’t get to witness the two of you come undone. Come for me,” he commands.

The pressure keeps building and building, yet never cresting. When I don’t think I can hold anymore, it fills me still. If I don’t release the pressure and the pleasure soon, my skin will burst. My moans and groans echo throughout the bathroom. It’s a keening sound of pleasure just this side of misery.

Ezra’s hands move in and out and up and down like pistons, working us both to our mutual finale. From one movement to the next, I find my climax. Back arching, neck straining, I groan to the ceiling. With a burst of intense pleasure, my body releases itself into the water, pouring the pressure from my being.

Ezra shouts my name as he jerks against me in jarring, quivering eruptions. His release shoots up to land on my breasts – the contact searing me. Humming to himself in pleasure, he continues to rub his cock, pressing the waning length against my slit. Both hands slide up my slick body to play in his spendings, smearing me – marking me as his.

Katya is back in Dominion with her daughter Ava, living with Ezra and Cortez. The people of Dominion who are excessively rich, lacking in morals and pretty much think they can do whatever they like. They are nothing like Katya who is moral, hardworking and independent.

Kat's struggle to fit in and feel accepted in Dominion and in Ezra's life, was the part of the story that I really connected with. It ripped my heart. Cortez, Ezra and our Master of the Universe manipulate Kat, turning her fears and concerns back on her and I wanted to strangle these men. I was torn between wanting Kat to get her HEA, and wanting her to kick them all in balls while telling them to shove it.

During Unleashed Katya trains to become a Mistress of Restraint with Dexter as her teacher. During this time we get to meet the other Mistresses and Masters of Restraint and each of them is fascinating and I look forward to learning more about them in future books.

I spent the last week with Katya, Cortez and Ezra with their unusual lives and unconventional romance. I became so immersed in the story I was dreaming about it. Unleashed is a fantastic book that I happily got lost in. I eagerly await the release of Dexter's story.

--Review for updated/revised version April 2015--
Unleashed is the 2nd book in the series Mistress & Master of Restraint, it's the continuation of Katya Water's story and begins exactly where Restraint left off. If you enjoy a little BDSM with twist of mental manipulation, or straight up mind-f**kery – THIS SERIES IS FOR YOU!
Follow along on Katya's journey down the rabbit hole of Dominion, NY. She's not alone on this journey (far from it), and is just finding her place in this new, crazy world. Join her hosts and guides Ezra Zeitler and Cortez Abernathy as the three explore the difficult road as a triad.
I will say that this is a slippery slope, and all are tested at various times – together and separately.
An amazing journey, with ups and downs, twists and turns, trials and tribulations – I could NOT put this down. The erotica is HAWT, the mind-f**kery is extensive, and the characters are just so complicated.
I can NOT wait to see what Ms. Chilson comes up with next for this cast of characters: I want to know what Dexter's motivations are, who Marcus is, what is up with Queen – I want to know EVERYTHING.

Rob moved away to walk across the room to retrieve his briefcase. Placing it on the bed, he dialed the combination to unlock it. Ever couldn’t help a small flinch as the latches popped open. Opening the lid, he gave her a smile. “I brought you something.”

Ever moved to him, her eyes drawn to what appeared to be a riot of color filling his briefcase. She gasped as he lifted the item, giving it a small shake to allow it to unfold. Smiling, she stepped even closer, her fingers reaching out to stroke the fabric. It was a robe, the sleek, soft texture of the fabric telling her that it was silk.

“It’s beautiful,” she whispered, the design appearing as he held it out. The colors were vibrant and seemed to shimmer in the soft lighting of their bedroom. A huge monarch butterfly filled the back, its wings encompassing the sleeves to move around the front. Wearing it would be as if she were enveloped in the embrace of a butterfly fresh from its cocoon. “Thank you, Rob.”

“You’re welcome.” Rob smiled as he laid the robe on the bed, picking up another item and handing it to her. “Open it.”

Ever smiled as she untied the ribbon and pulled off the paper. Her face heated as she realized what it was. Lifting her eyes, she saw his grin. What man brought his fiancée such a gift? Suddenly, she smiled as well – her man did. Her wonderful, loving and dominant man had actually searched through some store or stall on his journeys and held this in his hands, thinking how it would feel to wield it against his fiancée’s backside. Just as the silk robe showed his love, so did this thin wooden paddle. She stroked her fingers against the carvings, the flowers and leaves beautifully done, intricate in their design and yet simple in their beauty.

“It’s beautiful, thank you.”

Rob took it from her, turning it over in his hands. Setting it on top of the robe, he took her arms in his hands. “You are beautiful.” With a final kiss, he slowly tugged down the zipper of her dress. Sliding the material off her shoulders, his hands guided it down her body, his fingertips brushing against the skin he bared. With the dress just beneath her breasts, he bent and placed a kiss on the nipples pressing against the lace of her bra, drawing a deep moan with each kiss. Sliding the dress further, the tip of his tongue dipped into the depression of her navel, her body beginning to quiver. Moving lower, the dress was tugged over her hips and allowed to fall to the floor.

Ever felt like a piece of art as she watched Rob sit back on his heels, his head slightly tilted as he stared at her as if she were a statue or a painting he had never seen before. She watched as he bent a bit forward and saw his grin widen. His eyes drifted up to find hers. Rob lifted his eyebrow in that special way that had her blushing and stumbling just a bit as he turned her around. She heard him chuckle and shivered as his fingers traced along the bow that spanned the width of her ass. Her eyes fluttered closed for a moment and she gave a small gasp as he bent forward to kiss the small area of her cheeks that weren’t covered by the lace before turning her back around.

“I repeat, you are beautiful. Love the undies, Miss Harris, new?”

We all know about Corbin’s Bend and what goes on there. Ever’s fiancé was gone on a business trip that ended up being extended. Ever only had a few rules to follow while Rob was gone and of course she broke those rules and the people of Corbin’s Bend were there to help her out and report back to Rob. What should have been a sweet reunion after weeks apart turned into a punishment for Ever. After getting back on track things started to get out of hand with Ever again and Rob had to figure out what to do to get his sweet Ever back again. When Ever was done throwing her Bridezilla fits and became focused is when the story got good for me. I will admit I actually cried when Ever and the other ladies presented their items to the men and women who they were honoring. Probably didn’t help I read this over Memorial Day weekend so the emotions were flowing. This was a good story and addition to the series.

Another winning addition to the Corbin’s Bend collection. I love how different authors bring their own style to the series, and yet remain faithful to the existing characters and scenarios. I am always fascinated to see how the spanking will fit into the relationship, and what it adds to them both. Here I laughed at Ever's belief that finding a wedding dress would be simple ... and was delighted with how things were resolved. It was a poignant story and reminded us all of what sacrifices are made to keep us safe. I felt it was a story told with dignity, as well as the usual heat and romance that we know and love from Corbin’s Bend.

I have always loved the power of words and getting lost in another world. Bringing characters to life in a book so that you feel you know them is something I love doing. When not writing, I love reading curled up in a chair with huge mug of coffee.

I write mainly historical, age-play, fantasy & Victorian spanking romances.

What a load of bull. It’s been four years, and Kate’s voice still echoes in my mind.

Every. Damn. Day.

I numb her memory when it taunts me. In college, I drown her out with booze and easy lays.

I can’t do what she asked.

I can’t let her go.

Not even when Lia shows up, freaking ripping what’s left of me to shreds. Caring about someone isn’t worth the deadness that follows after they’re gone. I didn’t ask for this. Didn’t ask for her.

And I sure as hell didn’t plan to miss her when she walked out of my front door. Now, if I want to keep her, I have to straighten myself out and earn her. I can’t screw this up.

Because if I do, I’ll lose more than just Lia.

I’ll lose my life…

It takes me an hour to get to the cemetery. After Mom and Liam died, I never stepped foot here. Not until Kate convinced me to come. It had been one of her five wishes. One through three I’d done because she was with me. Because I loved her. I promised her number four, so I followed through. Number five, though?

Number five is impossible.

I come here often now—day, night, whenever I need to be close to her. Even in death, Kate draws me in. To this place where she’d only trodden once when she was alive.

I grab the three bouquets of flowers from the passenger seat and swing the door open. When Kate brought me here four years ago, I barely managed to get out of the car. Now it’s easy.

Too fucking easy.

I don’t even think about coming anymore. It’s automatic. Routine, like my nightly shots of whiskey.

It shouldn’t be like this. In three short years I lost the three people I loved most. Death sucks, and I’ve had my fill.

I slam the door closed and tread over the grass. The three identical stones jut up from the ground, and even when I’m here after dark, I don’t have a problem seeing them. They’re etched into my memory.

The idea to have Kate buried here beside my mother and brother was entirely mine and entirely selfish. The Browdys had asked me to help with her funeral arrangements, and other than the time of the graveside service, this had been my only request. This way she’d be close to me.

Shade from the elder tree casts a shadow over them. I stand inside its cover from the sun, facing the cold memorials. These pieces of granite have no real connection with the people they were.

Hell, they didn’t even pick them out. Didn’t see them, yet their names, dates of birth and death are etched into them as if they’d been owned by those they claim to represent.

Cemeteries—these stones—aren’t for the dead.

No, they’re for the living.

My gaze trails over the Celtic symbols engraved at the center of each one. Identical to the tattoos inked into my body. Faith. Brotherhood. Hope.

My eyes linger on Kate’s as they usually do, and the memory of when I’d given her the trinity heart necklace pours over me.

“It’s the Celtic symbol for hope. Now you’ll always know where to find it,” I’d told her.

Damn. I’d given it to her so she’d think of me whenever she needed me, but really, it was I who needed her.

I take a deep breath to hold myself together. I lost everything the day Kate died.

I rake a hand through my hair and shut my eyes. Out here, away from everyone, I don’t have to pretend that I have a fucking clue how to live without her.

Out here, it’s just me.

In front of Kate’s gravestone, I lower myself to the ground, dropping the flowers at my side. My chest is empty, yet somehow, it hurts. It’s the same damn thing year after year—aching to see her smile at me just one more time. One more and I’d be satisfied, I tell myself.

I know it’s a lie because one more smile from her would never be enough. I need to touch her, run my fingers over her warm skin and protect the hell out of her.

But I’m a failure. I had the power within me, in my blood, to save her, and I failed.

I can barely see the inches in front of me as I break down. Four years ago, my father sat here with me and told me the pain would never go away, but it would lessen over time.

What a load of bullshit; the pain has only grown.

“I miss you so damn much, Katie,” I say even though she can’t hear me. And that thought kicks me in the gut as much as anything. No matter what I say to her now, she’ll never know any of it.

I slide my fingertips over her name: Kathryn “Katie” Browdy. Seventeen short years on this earth and I only had her last months. They were the best months of my life.

I sit with her until the sun begins to send streaks of gold over the horizon. Even though Kate would be disappointed, I need to pick up more liquor before I head home. I have to have something to get me through this pain.

A gust of wind rustles the dead flowers I left on their graves last week. I scoop them up and replace them with the fresh ones I brought. Daisies for my mother, some generic flowers he wouldn’t give a shit about for Liam, and red roses for Kate.

Always red roses for my Katie.

“Love you, Mom,” I murmur, fanning out the daisies in the vase beside her headstone.

Then I move onto Liam’s. “Take care of my girl, man,” I tell him, then I remember how I’d taken care of his. “But if you touch her, I’ll fucking kill you.”

I squat down and lay Kate’s roses at the base of her stone. There’s nothing I could say to her that I haven’t already said a million times. So I settle for the words I couldn’t say until just before she died. “I love you, baby. I’ll always love you.”

After reading Love Always, Kate, I was excited to see that there was a sequel and was very curious to see where the author would take the story. I wasn't disappointed, and found this book to be as easy to read as the first. With the first book, it was easy to feel the emotion and fall in love with the characters. They reminded me of the characters in A Walk to Remember. With this book, it wasn't as tragically emotional as the first book, it was more of a harsh reality emotion. You could feel the struggle of dealing with life after tragedy. It was easy to want to root for or be frustrated with the characters. Damian's struggles were right there in your face, and you couldn't help but want him to succeed. The author even threw in a surprise or two, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone. I love the covers of these books too. Will Damian get his happily ever after? I would recommend readers to continue with this story and read book two. I wasn't disappointed and I think anyone who liked the first book and anyone who likes romance would enjoy this book. I will be looking for more to read by this author.

Since I was born and raised in Iowa, I like to create stories where my home state is the setting. There's nothing like small-town Midwest scenery to create the perfect backdrop for an amazing tale!

I've always loved to read and write. I'll read anything: Classics, fantasy, contemporary, mystery, horror. It doesn't matter as long as it draws me in. As a kid, I was raised on authors such as Lurlene McDaniel, R.L. Stine, Danielle Steele, Mary Higgins Clark, Stephen King, and Shakespeare.

Writing-wise, my fondness lies in the YA/NA genre, though I do have a couple of women's fiction stories swimming around in my head.

When not writing, I'm usually curled up with a book, scrapbooking, or doing yet another load of laundry.

Along with her incredible husband, I live in small-town Iowa with my four adorable (yet ornery) children and their dog, Peaches.
