Places in Time by Cardeno C. Blog Tour

A relationship-challenged actor unexpectedly finds love in the arms of his childhood best friend.

“Sexiest Man Alive” and Golden Globe winning actor Ethan Baker lights up the screen but fizzles in his personal life. When his latest girlfriend breaks up with him, Ethan turns to his one “forever” person—Jude Harrison. But as Ethan makes the familiar drive to his best friend’s house, an unexpected detour and a bewildering passenger take him through places in time he’d long forgotten. Suddenly Ethan sees Jude’s actions over the years from a different perspective, but it’s his own reaction that’s the biggest surprise.

It should have been terrifying, being held in Jude’s arms and knowing for the first time that he felt more than friendship for me. But it wasn’t. It also should have been scary to pull my head back and look into his eyes knowing for the first time that I felt the same way. But it wasn’t.

Making the first move by leaning in for a kiss, well, that was knee-bucklingly frightening. But I did it anyway.

I brushed my lips against Jude’s, just barely at first, then again with more pressure.

He stood perfectly still, stiff and unyielding in my arms. “Are you drunk?”

“Not this time, no.” I shook my head. “Why didn’t you ever say anything after that day at The Other Team?”

His eyes widened. “You remember that?”

“I do now.” I slowly raised my hand and trailed my fingertips over his eyebrows.

“E, what’re you doing?”

At any other place in time, I would have pulled back. But now that I knew how he felt about me, how I felt about him…now that I knew what we could have together…nothing and nobody could have stopped me from going after Jude, not even our own fears.

“What I should have done a long time ago.”

I'm going to be honest here, I didn't read the blurb for this before I said yes I'd read and review. I saw it was Cardeno C. and said yes. I am so glad I didn't read the blurb first. This isn't my normal type of book. I normally would never go for a time jump type novella, BUT it completely works.

Ethan Baker is a Golden Globe winning actor. He loves what he does but he can't hold a girlfriend to save his life. Is it his job, the hours he spends away from home, no it's that he's not happy. Jude Harrison is Ethan's best friend. They know everything about each other. Jude is where he turns when his relationship ends. An unexpected visit has him seeing things he never quite picked up until now. But does he understand what he's missed before? Will he act on it?

Places in Time is a sweet friend to lover romance story. I liked the unexpected (for me) twist on how he views the past.

“Sorry. I got dickstracted.”

One of the best lines I've ever read. I will be using that one from time to time! But this has to be one of the more humorous books from CC that I have read and I really enjoyed it. Those one liners had me smiling throughout the read.

Cardeno C. is a one of my favourite authors in this genre, and even if it were 1,000 pages long, I would want more! The writing style is so smooth and free-flowing that a short story really does pass in a moment – but an amazingly memorable and entertaining read nonetheless.

Ethan is not painted in the most appealing light, however his Scrooge attitude is solved by a guided visit to his past, and the awakening of a realisation that he had just been too blinkered to see. He rectifies the situation very promptly once he can – whichh is both hot and endearing at once.

After a break up with his current girlfriend, movie star Ethan heads over to his best mate Jude's place. Jude's place is more like home to him that his own place. On the way is he waylaid by his version of the "the ghost of Christmas past."

Places in Time is another amusing romance from Cardeno C. Poor Ethan. He is such a sweetheart but is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Jude is completely in love with Ethan and will do anything for him.

I'm at the point now where I just want to read every word this author writes. Places in Time is a fun story I'd recommend to lovers of M/M.

Cardeno C. – CC to friends – is a hopeless romantic who wants to add a lot of happiness and a few "awwws" into a reader's day. Writing is a nice break from real life as a corporate type and volunteer work with gay rights organizations. Cardeno's stories range from sweet to intense, contemporary to paranormal, long to short, but they always include strong relationships and walks into the happily-ever-after sunset.

Cardeno's Home, Family, and Mates series have received awards from Love Romances and More Golden Roses, Rainbow Awards, the Goodreads M/M Romance Group, and various reviewers. But even more special to CC are heartfelt reactions from readers, like, "You bring joy and love and make it part of the every day."
