After spotting a mafia hit, Jess and Colleen Bradley find their life turned upside down and on the run. Jess and Colleen Bradley become Russ and Debi Hunter, the newest residents of Corbin’s Bend. Forty years of a vanilla marriage makes them a little out of place in this spanking community. With new names and new jobs, Debi is a little stressed out with her new surroundings. She keeps messing up and calling Russ by his old name. After a successful erotic spanking just to see what all the fuss is about, Russ decides a real spanking might be just what’s called for to get Debi to remember his new name and relieve her of some of the stress she’s feeling.

Just as they begin to find peace as their new selves in the wilds of Colorado, the protection they feel shatters when Jack calls with the bad news that their security has been compromised and Debi realizes she’s being tailed. As Brent Carmichael and Russ rush out to find Debi and get the two to safety, it might be too late because at that moment, two hit men are set on making sure Debi and Russ are not safe under protection.

“Jess? Oh shit, I mean Russ? Are you home?” She knew he was, his van was in the garage.

“Yeah, up here, Debi.”

She ran up the stairs hoping he hadn’t heard her slip-up. It wasn’t on purpose, she told herself. Even though she’d been thinking of doing it on purpose, she wasn’t in the mood to try out a punishment spanking right now. She was excited about what she’d bought for her classroom.

“Hi, honey. Wait till you see what I bought for the kids.”

“Debi, come here.”

His voice was a little funny, she thought. Stern and serious and even commanding. The way he said ‘come here,’ like he was so sure she would obey. The funny thing was that she found herself going to him without any hesitation. She obeyed.

“We made a rule, Debi. You just broke it.”

Oh god, he had heard her slip up.

“I know, honey. But it was just because I was all excited.”

“You agreed you would be punished if you slipped up again on the name thing.”

“I know, but I don’t feel like it right now. I want to show you the stuff I bought.”

Russ sighed. “I doubt many people feel like getting punished. But we agreed, and you’re going to be punished. Now.”

“No! Russ, come on. I know I agreed, but let’s do it later.” Debi suddenly felt panicky and her belly did a flip-flop. Her thighs pressed tightly together and she felt the dampness of her panties. But she didn’t want to experience a punishment spanking now.

“Let’s go to the bedroom now.”

He used that different voice again and for some strange reason, even though she didn’t want to, she found herself obeying and going to the bedroom with him.

“Get undressed.” He kept his clothes on and sat on the edge of the bed.

“Everything?” she asked in little more than a whisper.

She watched his face as he thought about it and could tell when he made up his mind. Did that glint in his eye mean he was looking forward to punishing her? Or was he planning to ravish her when he was done with the punishment? She could only hope it was the latter.

“Yes, everything.”

Oh, that voice, she thought as she unbuttoned her blouse.

“Are you getting undressed?”

“No, I’m not the one getting spanked.”

She remembered the woman from the block party whose husband believed sex after punishment was a reward. Was that what Russ was thinking? She slipped off her panties and was naked. Swallowing hard, she waited for his next command.

“Come here.”

His legs were slightly parted and she stood between them. He put his hands on her hips and lightly caressed her skin.

“We agreed to this, right?”

She nodded her head, her eyes slightly wider than usual.

“You rushed into the house and called out my old name. Didn’t you?”

She nodded again and whispered, “Yes.”

“What if someone was up here with me?”

“But I knew there wasn’t anyone else here. There were no cars in front of the house.”

“What if Brent or Jason, or anyone for that matter, had walked over and we were up here when you yelled out my old name?”

“It would have been awkward. I’m sorry J…Russ.” She couldn’t believe she just messed up again.

“It would have been more than just awkward. It would start people talking. You have to work harder at this, Debi. It’s our safety that’s the issue here. Do you understand?”

Jeez, the lecture was making her feel worse than she thought the spanking would.

“Yes, I do. I understand.”

"Good." Russ patted his thigh and said, "Now get over my knee."

This may be my favorite season of Corbin’s Bend so far! I will have to admit the first thing I thought when I started reading this book was the characters on the cover didn’t look the age of the characters inside the book, I had to make up images in my head for some reason. Colleen and Jess (Debi/Russ) have one hot sex life for people in their fifties, I am in my forties and can only hope mine is as good as theirs when I get their age! Once again the community and residents of Corbin’s Bend are amazing as always, there really needs to be communities like this. After getting familiar with the lifestyle and the ins and outs of it, I think Colleen and Jess (Debi/Russ) grew even more as a couple. I am glad that the mafia twist wasn’t the main focus of the book; I wasn’t really feeling that part of the story. I enjoyed this book and can’t wait to see what book three holds.

The Story: Debi is a witness to a triple homicide in their hometown of Chicago. After the murders, she and her husband are victims of several attempted murders. Chicago PD puts them under their protection and ultimately they are transferred to the Witness Protection Program.

Plot: As they settle into their new life as Debi and Russ Hunter, they must also come to grips of living in Corbin's Bend – a spanking community. Knowing nothing about the lifestyle, Debi does some research into DD and explains it to Russ. Russ gathers all his knowledge about the lifestyle from his mentor, Jason and Brent, the head of the community. After several conversations and an erotic spanking, Debi and Russ agree to try DD for their household.

Part of a Series: Corbin's Bend

What worked/what didn't work for me: I really enjoyed the relationship of Debi and Russ. Knowing that romance and sex doesn't fade the longer that you live with someone. Their relationship seems natural and yet they are both willing to try something new.

The witness protection plotline seemed a little out of place and didn't really add much to the story in my opinion other than introducing Brent's brother, Jack.

The team of authors behind the Corbin Bend series are excelling themselves in season 3. Maybe that is partly because, rather like a favourite TV series, the loyal reader pretty much knows the lead characters, has a map of the community in their mind, and is already deciding who would be the best mentors ...

I enjoyed this story very much, especially the points when Debi admits to reading up on DD, and its effect on her, and their forays into spanking. I thought it was really well done, and their assimilation into CB life was seamlessly written. For a couple married forty years, even if married very young, they had some great chemistry, which came over on the page. The only thing which I found a bit annoying was the repeated reference to her knee replacement, but that did tail off by the end.
