Domesticated by Jettie Woodruff Review Tour

I was once told that I was like an animal. Animals were naturally conditioned, just like the rodent that I was, I needed to be conditioned. Aristocrats in our class had a trained way of living. Women had their place beside their hard-working spouses and weren't allowed to rock the boat.

As a small child, I believed in the preparation requirements. Once learned, a conditioned response is hard to get past. No matter how much I tried, it was a part of me - deep within my subconscious. No matter how much I wanted it to be different, it never was, and nobody could change what had been acclimatized profoundly in my mind.

I knew what I did was wrong. I knew what I hid from the world was dirty. And I knew Garrison would never understand. However, I couldn’t stop. I couldn’t control it. No matter how hard I tried. It was always there, always a part of me, and who I was.

This book is for mature audiences only. In other words, it is F**ked up.

Read at your own risk.

Kendra had a horrible childhood; she had an evil stepmother and stepsisters. Raised and trained for the life of a rich person. Kendra never felt like one of the people she was raised to be like, she wanted to be herself, but breaking free of that mold was so hard to do. I don’t want to give away any of the story but it was rough in some spot and awesome in others. I don’t think there was one emotion that wasn’t touched on in some way shape or form in this book. It was a great book; I read it in a few hours. I did think the ending was a bit rushed but it was still a great read, if you love other books by Jettie, you will love this one too.

Characters: The characters were well written and believable.
Sex: Yeah and it is very HOT at times
Religious: No
Would I recommend to others: Yes
More than one book in the series: No
Genre: Dark Romance
Would I read more by this author: Yes

This was a unique story, with unique characters (thank god!), and it was enjoyable!
At first I didn't know how to take Kendra, a girl born to privilege and raised to continue the thoroughbred of her heritage. Following in the foot-steps that her family pushed her to, she realizes she's miserable: she hates her "friends," she hates her "duties," and she's not exactly happy with her marriage. Thankfully, she has planned a vacation at their beach home, for the summer.

Upon meeting ONE person, outside of her "regular" clique, and her world is flipped turned upside down. NOT romantically, she propositions him to act out all of her wild fantasies (and hot, they are!).
Is there more to life than money? Are emotions to be trusted?

Honestly, I loved Sam right from the get go. Kendra, on the other hand, I just didn't understand- although by the end of the book I empathized with her.

This is a completely different kind of story, and it stuck with me for a few days. I'm not really sure how I'd classify it: It IS erotica, with a romantic tone, but it's really so much more than that.

I have read a number of Ms. Woodruff's books, so had very high expectations. I was not disappointed by the storyline – it was deeply disturbing, complex, sensual, erotic, and sometimes sweet. It dealt with some terrible issues, and was uncomfortable reading at times, but so worthwhile. I like a book that really makes me think about the intended, and unintended consequences of actions. Sam was undoubtedly gorgeous, and Kendra was a fascinating mess! It was easy to envision how the plot could play out, yet we were kept guessing by some interesting twists. I look forward to the next offering from this talented storyteller.

Jettie Woodruff is a lifelong writer, living in a pretend world since she was a little girl. Jettie spent hours filling pages of spiral notebooks with a number two pencil and a wild imagination. Her very first story was a sci-fi of all things.

Jettie writes more along the lines of erotica now. She likes to keep her readers on edge, and deliver a story that will pull out every emotion possible. Writing on the edge of taboo and dark, Jettie hopes to distribute an adventure you'll not soon forget.

Married for twenty five years, raising two boys and one girl has left lots of writing material. She has recently become a grandma to not one, but two of the most beautiful little girls on planet earth.

Jettie also hates doing this bio. That's all you get. She loves to read and write. What else is there? <3
