Wanton by Erica Chilson is Now Available & Reviewed

Orbiting one another’s lives, yet never intersecting, a clandestine meeting finally pushes Opal Fischer within Ginny Jamison’s path.

In the past, in the present, and in the future, both women make a major impact on the lives of the Blended Family. They worry more about their loved ones than themselves, pushing their needs and wants to the back-burner. They themselves are the only ones in their own path to true happiness, by holding onto the debilitating wounds of the past and refusing to let go of their visions of the future.

Opal’s lifelong adage: the sin isn’t in the wanting; it’s in the taking. Will Ginny be able to make Opal realize the sin is actually in the regret of never taking what you want, what you so rightfully deserve?

Wanton (Blended #2.5) is a full-length Contemporary Romance novel featuring the slowly budding relationship between two females. Warning: a glimpse into future Blended Series books, with sensually erotic scenes featuring f/f & f/f/m. Wanton is approximately 67,000 words in length.

I don’t know about y’all but the ending of Widow left me dying know what would happen next in the crazy town of Fairport. Well this book doesn’t really give that away but what it does give you is a story that we have been waiting on. Ginny’s! I am a plus size girl myself so I have related to Ginny for a while, so I was dying to see her get a HEA, though knowing it would be hard with not a lot of lesbians to work with. This book delved deeply into both Ginny and Opal’s characters, rounding them out more than I had even believed possible and making it so now if we don’t know what continues to happen with them it will drive me crazy. More than once I found myself relating, crying, or being angry with both characters. And those hot steamy scenes were some of the hottest I have read in a Chilson book, sh*t pretty much period. I left feeling achy and in need of something from those scenes my d*mn self. So pick up the book light a candle or 10 and be ready for the ride, because it’s got it all.

The second that this arrived on my Kindle, I had to start reading, and I did not sleep until I had finished. It is so good that I plan on rereading it over the weekend.

Beautifully written, stunningly hot, and definitely deserving of our attention. This book follows on from Widow, and uncovers more family secrets. It also introduces us to a brand new pairing, which gives the author an opportunity to delve into a number of issues. Ms. Chilson has a talent for weaving serious issues around mind-blowingly hot stories. I absolutely love the openness and clarity of vision of Opal and Ginny, it is inspiring and comforting. As layers are stripped away, both women reveal so much and gain their own insight, as well as a much deserved new relationship. Their strength of character was never in question, but now they are people fleshed out by their conversations, touches and generosity. As often happens with Ms. Chilson's books, I am somewhat jealous, but also wonder if it really could be possible in real life.

This is our fourth visit to Fairport and the Blended series. It makes a great contribution to story-lines, so I would recommend that you do read them in order to gain the full picture. That said, it is so good, that you could just enjoy it as a snapshot of the whole, and then maybe go back and catch up afterwards.

Just to add - on second reading this story is even better. As the desperate need to get to the end of the story had passed, I could enjoy the nuance, the subtleties, and the foreshadowing. I also relaxed more into the sex, the affection, and the warmth, as well as the heat. So very much is revealed in this book, that it is pretty important to make sure you get it straight in your head. After all, there is no doubt at all that Ms. Chilson will be taking us down some crooked paths before this journey is done.

Although I sometimes wonder whether I want my daughters to know just what I enjoy reading, I think that they would benefit greatly from some of the knowledge imparted in these books. The insight into how people think, how low self-esteem can be so destructive of potentially great relationships, and so many other issues, get me every time I read this author's books. I may hesitate with the Masters and Mistresses of Restraint series, but think that Blended might just be on their new year's reading list.

"I finally found something that has a greater pull than my fear."

I was intrigued with Opal and Ginny from the beginning of the series. I love that we got to see a more intimate side of them individually and as a couple. I've read M/M (M&M of Restraint was my first experience with this genre, only fitting Blended would be my first F/F read) but I never ventured into the F/F genre. It was so well written. I didn't know what to expect but Ms. Chilson knocked it out of the park with this one.

I think with every book within this series gives me a new favorite, Wanton has me loving Sage and his little snarky ways. I can't wait to see when his character is explored more.

I always love getting a peek at the other relationships from outside point of views. Any view of the ever present love triangle of Rob/Isis/Auggie never gets old.

Can't wait to see where the next book takes us in the little sleepy town of Fairport.

Ms. Chilson's fourth story in the Blended series has given us another terrific tale. The romance between two 40ish year old women is perfectly paced. I loved that their relationship took work. They behaved appropriately for their ages – they behaved like adults with life experience and a little wisdom, but were not perfect and still made mistakes.

Once again we get to interact with the various members of the blended family and we meet Opal's son Sage who is openly gay and totally awesome. As always with Ms. Chilson's books we learn more and more about the cast of characters we already love and she leaves us dying for the next instalment, which can't come fast enough.

Sweet, emotional, funny and at times very hot, Wanton is great book. If you haven't started the Blended series you are missing out. I can't recommend these books highly enough.

This installment of the Blended series was sweet, touching, insightful, and overall a necessary addition to the series!

We've met both characters, Ginny and Opal, in previous books, but this story is dedicated to them.

I have to admit, I'm not much for f/f erotica – but this transcends just erotica! This is a beautiful story about overcoming obstacles – mostly self-imposed – finding yourself, and being comfortable in your own skin. Together these women are able to appreciate each other while learning to accept themselves. (PS: the erotic scenes are HOT!)

A few of the other character's story-lines were touched upon, and advanced – while others were just "toyed" with to keep our anticipation ramped up (in true Erica Chilson fashion).

Wanton is the latest installment of the Blended series by Erica Chilson. Erica has the ability to draw the reader into the story and make them feel as though they are right in the middle of the action.

This is the beginning of Ginny's and Opal's story. These two women have been searching for happiness their entire lives. Opal gave in to convention and allowed her parents to direct her path in life. Even knowing that she preferred women, Opal married a peer of her father's and had a child. Ginny, always knowing that she preferred women, has tried her best to help raise her niece and nephews as well as her brother-in-law's younger sister, all the while trying to find a woman to share her life with.

Sparks fly when Ginny and Opal meet and begin the slow dance of romance. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next book in this series.

This book is more than what the author promised, it was supposed to be a short story but it was more. Although the way Erica Chilson writes there really isn't anything short about it. Her short stories have so much depth, she doesn't just give us a wham bam thank you mama. This book was supposed to be a short story about two women finding each other and by the time I got done reading it, I realized that there is so much more to come for these two. Yes, she warned us that this was only a small peek into Opal and Ginny's lives, I found it a tease.

I love the ladies’ vulnerability, they both see their personal dilemmas/hang-ups as the thing that will push others away. Ginny's hang-up is superficial, it's personal, it's raw for her but nothing to anyone around her because they all love her, everything about her.

Opal knows that she is stuck on her upbringing, that there is a way you are supposed to live, love and act. She is tired of acting, she wants to embrace who she is and be truly happy at her own hands.

This book contains sex, HOT and graphic sex. This book cannot be read by uptight, people with closed minds. You should read this book knowing that there is f/f, m/m and f/f/m. That's not the only reason to read it though, you should read it because Erica Chilson knows her characters, they don't flip flop, they don't seem fake, they feel like they live down the street and you’re good friends with them and that's how you know all about them. Erica has a fantastic, amazing talent feeding up just what we want when we want it. She is not predictable and her books will emotionally and mentally challenge you.

Read the synopsis on this book, read it carefully. Then when you purchase it I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

My only problem now is what to read next, I have no more Erica Chilson books left. hmmm. oh well I need a cigarette after that anyway before I can read any other books.
