Wicked Reads Reviews – Perfectly Normal by Jaden Wilkes & The Beast by Jaden Wilkes

Take a girl like Columbia, put her in a vastly different life with a man unlike anyone she's ever known. Throw in Dimitri's nightmares, the Concierge's disdain for Dimitri's new house guest and a few hundred people looking high and low for the both of them...and it makes for a very interesting first few months in a brand new relationship.

Picking up at the end of the last chapter from the first bestselling book in this series, this novel covers their time together in Hong Kong.

Two twisted and imperfect beings must adjust to their new lives together while avoiding detection from authorities and an international crime ring.

***As with the first novel in this series, this story covers dark themes with 18+ sex, murder and violence.***

Perfectly Normal picks up right after the end of The Beast but happens before the epilogue of The Beast. We find out what happens in between and a lot of it is smoking hot sex! Holy crap was this book filled with hot sex! I loved how we found out more about the concierge and finally found out his name and how you found out his name was even better! The bond and love between Columbia and Dimitri is stronger and more powerful than ever. This is one awesome couple. I cannot wait to read Little Dove and see what happens next. I hope to see more of the concierge as well; he is one fine piece of meat!

Characters: Well written and you can’t help but like them, flaws and all.
Sex: So flipping hot I needed to change my panties several times while reading!
Religious: No
Would I recommend to others: Yes
More than one book in the series: Yes
Genre: Dark Romance
Would I read more by this author: Yes

This is the second in the series - and reveals what happened between the last chapter of The Beast, and its epilogue. I found this a clever plot device, as we knew the outcome, but not the journey. It reduced the worry factor, but ramped up the heat. And heat there is aplenty with a twist in the tale which I did not see coming, but that was off the thermometer hot - and both in a mind games and physical way. The development of Columbia's character, and the revelations of Dimi's made this a thoughtful book. And the whole bad guys searching for them, fighting etc. brought another dimension again. Amazing how much can be packed into less than two hundred pages, once you start to dissect it! And it all be claimed as perfectly normal...

Bring on book 3 ... please

Dimitri Sokolov is a man scarred, physically and emotionally. From the rough streets of Moscow to the highest ranks in the Solntsevskaya Bratva, he has seen it all.

An attack four years ago left him disfigured and in seclusion, hiding from reactions to his appearance and in safety from those who failed to kill him the first time.

Comfortable in his penthouse, managing his billion dollar businesses, he's resigned himself to be alone, simply called The Beast among those who've dealt with him in the past.

Columbia Grey is a pseudo-activist trying to save her neighbourhood from a developer intent on levelling it to build apartment towers. She goes along with a plan to confront the CEO of the company on his own turf, to force him to listen to her demands...all in a pathetic attempt to impress a man she barely likes.

Little does she know, she's taken herself into the mouth of the beast, a man familiar with death and destruction, sex and seduction, a man used to getting exactly what he wants and a man with nothing left to lose.

She's a beauty, but will that be enough to tame the beast and save her life?

***This is not a fairy tale, this is what happens when the music ends and life goes on after the credits roll. This is about simply existing until you find yourself and write your own happily ever after, no matter what form it takes.***

Holy crap, I don't even know what to say other than this book was so amazing! I actually bought this for myself on my birthday in March but didn't read it right away. I am kicking myself now! This book was dark and hot and just flipping fabulous! Jaden nailed it again! I love Columbia and Dimitri and I am already reading Perfectly Normal, cannot get enough of the Beast and his Dove!

This was an interesting mix of dark erotica, romance, and revelations of prior abuse that made the current chaos seem better. It was crazy, but I could not stop reading - well, except when I thought something really bad was going to happen and then I needed to take a breather before immersing myself back in the story. There are bits which I couldn't quite see connecting, but overall, I found it a worthwhile read - now I am off to read book 2 Perfectly Normal.

Thanks again Ms. Wilkes for a thought provoking story.
